Great experience doing a 12 week challenge. Coached are great, workout programmes are thoughtful and carefully made, app is easy to use.
Having used F2F PT in my gym for years with no real change, I decided to take a punt on JSA last May. I was really surprised at how holistic the platform is - from the personalised programmes, nutrition advice, Academy educational videos (the nutrition ones really made me think about my diet differently), coach chat and everything else it was perfect. Have now completed two 12 week challenges and am about to embark on my third - the support from the small team of coaches in the app and within the Facebook group is phenomenal and really keeps your motivation high. Since joining I have lost just over 2 stone of fat, increased my muscle bulk and my fitness levels have increased substantially. Could not recommend highly enough.
I joined the JSA as someone who has struggled with achieving goals in health and fitness for a long time. These 4 month of support and guidance from the coaches has changed my life for the better and I can only recommend it. It helped me to get leaner and stronger with the program but also to work on my mindset about weight and self worth which is huge in terms of continuing for the right reasons. The coaches and Facebook support were great for motivation and I loved the mini challenges within the challenge. The app is covering so much for learning and accountability. Best thing I did in 2022! Having worked with PTs 1-1 before & not getting what I wanted from it I was a bit wary but I am so happy I signed up to the challenge. The coaches are all so kind & supportive which is a huge help for someone like me. I really like that I can watch example videos all through my workout to make sure I’m getting my form right. The app, coaches & community are top notch & I highly recommend.
The knowledge and support that is available is amazing all while providing personalised plans. JSA has changed my outlook on fitness for the better.
I’ve made great progress both with strength and fat loss thanks to the James Smith Academy. I know for sure that I wouldn’t have done it without the extra layer of accountability that the coaches provide! They are really helping me smash my goals this year! 👍

I have tried many online weightloss programmes and I can honestly say this has been the best fit for me by far! I love the fact that the workouts are so varied and train all muscle groups in one session, rather then having set leg and arm days etc. The app is super user friendly and this was important to me, as I’m a bit of a tech dinosaur. The part of the experience that surpassed all my expectations and was by far the most helpful of all… the continued support from the JSA team! They truly are angels in human form. On hand 24/7 they have your best interests at heart and offer the most sound advice. Sometimes we don’t need someone to tell us what to do, we just need them to be there and listen and I have never felt so looked after, valued and cared for as I do in this community! This is so much more then a weightloss programme. This is a journey of personal discovery, celebrating the highs and overcoming the lows. It will leave you feeling like you can achieve anything and I am so eternally grateful to the team for believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. I would recommend this course to absolutely anyone looking to improve the health! 🙏
Discovering James online and subsequently joining JSA has 100% changed my physical and mental health for the better in ways that I never ever thought possible. Since initially joining 4 years ago I have lost 4 stone but gained so much more, my confidence and approach to health and fitness are in such a good place - one that I never thought I’d reach! Although the coaching is online I genuinely feel like the coaches are friends, rooting for me and always there to pick me up or cheer me on when needed. I owe a lot of my health and happiness to James and the JSA team and will never ever forget the profound way that they changed my life for the better! I’ve gained so much knowledge through the platform and no question ever goes unanswered, day or night! I would highly recommend JSA to anyone looking to lose (or gain) weight, and learn about optimising health and fitness, it’ll deliver that and then some!!! Best thing I’ve ever done!!!
I joined for the challenge, stayed for the support and knowledge. Right at the start I learned what I'd been doing wrong, and received the tools and information to make the necessary changes on how I approach fitness and nutrition, so that I could see real progress; now I'm more energetic, stronger, fitter, I have better habits and relationship with food, and, to my great surprise, I now see exercising as a fun, relaxing activity.
It's an amazing experience, and the coaches are the highlight - they are lovely, supportive, knowledgeable people. They always check up on me, celebrate the wins with me, and help me get over lows.
I'm really happy I've joined the JSA; before, I was feeling a bit hopeless, because I didn't know what to do, but now all that I've learned there is my shield against the misinformation on the internet, and if my goals change I know what steps to take to achieve them.
I initially started this challenge to loose weight but that soon changed as I separated from my husband and moved out of my family home. The coaches online were amazing! They have been so supportive, giving me confidence to move on. Weight loss was a bonus the supportive chat was worth way more!
I have signed up to the pay monthly online coaching with the app and so far after a few months feel happy! Took me a little while to get into a routine but the support from the coaches has helped, and they are on hand to answer questions. Even helped me when I was feeling out of place in the gym. If I want to adjust a plan I
message them and it is done within a day. It's really amazing what you get for the price, and makes training more accessible to people that can't afford a PT. I'd recommend to anybody looking for some direction and wanting to adopt a healthier lifestyle!

My brother and I did the challenge together, and woah, it’s changed our lives. I never imagined seeing my brother so active and absolutely loving fitness. The coaches were such a great support and really helped changed our thoughts around exercise and nutrition!
We love watching and sharing all James IG posts to eachother too, he made us have a laugh and think about things differently!
I’ve been using JSA for six weeks and it really is the best I’ve tried. The App is clear and the workout section is great as all moves have a demo that shows you what to do. Calories set aren’t restrictive and there is flexibility to eat what you like but also suggestions if you run out of ideas. The support and coaching is excellent. I will absolutely be renewing my membership to this wonderful academy!
I was dubious.. I’ve done many a fitness app before with “personal” workouts.. and the price put me off… BEST INVESTMENT EVER. The workouts are catered directly for me.. all my suggestions and weaknesses considered and then changed if I didn’t enjoy a particular exercise …
But massive shout out to Nicole, Rebecca, Fi, Stu - you guys are nothing short of amazing and have been with me the whole time. YOU make this app and really invest in my journey of not only fitness but career, health and the bumps along the road of where I want to me.
Get this app if you want to get healthier - you won’t regret it
I really can’t speak highly enough about the academy. I have tried many different plans over the years, and in truth usually give up after a few weeks or when times get tough.
However right from the start this one was different. It helped reading all of James books however the important content is included in the app.
Here are some points below that I feel make this such an incredible experience:
1. Starting with the most important aspect in my opinion, the coaches, you will get a team of around four PTs/coaches/fitness experts who will contact you several times a day to see how you are doing, offer you encouragement or devise a plan if your struggling. It’s not an exaggeration to say these fantastic people have got me through some tough days. The training plans are all tailored and I find them really challenging but really enjoyable.
2. The app itself, this has tonnes of great content and a dashboard to see how your progressing. There is a section where the challenges are kept so you can visually see progress with measurements and photos.
3. The recommended calorie information, this one is key as it gives you a good indication of your daily calories. I don’t feel I have cut back on anything during this plan but certainly am much more conscious and consider portion sizes and getting the right amount of protein in.
4. The community, it feels like you are never alone, the stories I read on the dedicated FB page are really inspiring. It’s everyday people like us going through life and trying to feel better with themselves.
So overall the JS academy has more than worked, it’s changed my life and my mindset. As for the results, I have lost nearly 7kg since September and dropped a Jean size but more importantly I feel fantastic. I enjoy working out, prepping for the week and the gym and following a plan that’s really tailored for me with the support of some incredible people behind the scenes.
