Unfair charging

Now part of JCW Energy Services. I rang them on 9th Feb to asked for an engineeer to look at my boiler which would not turn off, and was told the cost would be £90 for the first hour and £45 per hour there after, to which I agreed. The first available slot was 8 days later on 17th Feb. The engineer arrived on time, but left after about 15 minutes on site, to get some parts for a valve, and did NOT return. I later phoned the office to find out where he was, and was told he had been called away on an emergency job. Fair enough, I thought, mine was not an emergency. However the company still invoiced me for the full £90, saying it was a call-out fee, which is not what they originally said on the phone. I wrote to ask them to reconsider their invoice considering it was they who had called the engineer away part way through the job and after only a short time on site. They declined to make any amendment to the invoice which is a) not fair and b) not good business. The job was completed 5 days later and fully invoiced, with no deduction for the aborted initial callout.

One star is too generous for this…

One star is too generous for this absolutely useless customer service. A very nice engineer came and accessed work to fit a new boiler and install a new oil tank. So far so good. The quote came through at an astronomical price with no breakdown. We have been chasing for 3 weeks for an idea of what each element costs. To no avail. No call backs despite 6 calls to them and emails. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They don't know the meaning of customer service.

Poor service

I use to work for this company as a service engineer. The company has many, many faults, but some staff do try to get things done. That said, certain managers need to rethink what customer service is about. This company recently repaired a family members boiler under an insurance policy. The diagnosis and subsequent parts fitted did not rectify the fault. The problem reoccur within 15minutes of the engineer leaving. A return visit was then booked for 6 days later. So that's six days with no heating. I contacted a service engineer I know in the area and the boiler was up and running the next day. Avoid this company at all costs. Not good and poor customer service.

Very poor unreliable service

Called at 1515hrs on Saturday as we had no hot water and after a long wait a man informed me the 24hr emegency service was not available as no engineers on duty. Explained to him that my wife was NHS nurse and really needed urgent help. This was to no avail and having been told they would call first thing Monday.. They have not. All the thanks after dealing with Saunders for nearly 30 years.

Engineer seemed at a complete loss

Engineer seemed at a complete loss - given he’d only "serviced" it a few days earlier. Long story short - new boiler required they said.

Properly serviced and repaired by another firm in under 2hrs!

I echo earlier sentiments- Avoid

My bathroom was installed by JCW…

My bathroom was installed by JCW Saunders and I'm really pleased with the end result. The install was completed to a very high standard and is exactly what I'd hoped for. Highly recommend.

Poor in all respects

Poor in all respects including communication. After 4 failed visits to fix our boiler, leaving us without hot water and heating for over 1 week, we gave up and went elsewhere. If only I could award negative stars!
