How to trash a business

After almost 2 months of complete disappointment and frustration i got a full refund today. To be fair the people i managed to contact were reasonable and as employees i feel very sorry for them. If the boss gets £ signs in his eyes because of the current crisis and sends out any old rubbish in an inadequate box and expects gardeners to accept it then he will destroy the business. I think he has done that. Such a shame.

A Company Going Downhill Fast

For three years I have had bedding begonia plug plants from this company.
The first year I was quite pleased. The second year was not quite as good but OK. However, this year has been very disappointing.
In particular, they were despatched in a cardboard box with just a bit of bubble wrap for protection. Not surprisingly, some had broken off and some had come out of their plugs altogether - just not quite enough to send them back and ask for a refund. Then having pricked them out into trays to grow on, the result has been very patchy - some have grown well and some hardly at all, even within the same tray.
Definitely a company to be avoided in the future. It is just interesting that in the light of all the adverse reviews, the company has made no attempt to justify itself, which suggests a bit of a "couldn't care less" attitude.

What appalling customer service

What appalling customer service. Plants arrived badly packed, fallen out of plug holders, soil in the carton. They are all so badly damaged as to be unuseable. You cannot telephone for a response, emails ( which may or may not be sent it's not clear) are not answered. I have now written a formal letter of complaint. So many complaints about bedding plant suppliers struggling under Covid 19 difficulties. It is a wonder this firm can survive in normal times! IF YOU ARE THINKING OF SENDING AN ORDER, THINK AGAIN AND FIND AN ALTERNATIVE SUPPLIER.

Mostly good

Difficult to rate this sort of company in completely abnormal conditions. I was unlucky as I placed my order on the weekend they had a glitch with the IT. The problem was sorted out quickly and an immediate refund was made for items which were not available.
There are comments about the company being ‘greedy’ and taking more orders than the processing could cope with, to the detriment of service. But I suppose one man’s greedy is another man’s ‘doing their best to satisfy increased unforeseen, and unforeseeable, demand in difficult circumstances due to people not being able to secure supplies from the likes of garden centres’. I was certainly grateful that they were still functioning and I was able to order my summer garden colour.

The system has worked ok for me. The only criticisms I would have is that although the boxes were marked ‘this way up’ the plants were not packed so that they were upright when the delivery company complied, resulting in the planting medium falling out, and if the ‘jumbo’ plants were jumbo, I’d hate to see the pygmy version. I was also, perhaps naively, not expecting the plants to be so small that they needed significant growing on - and it wasn’t easy sourcing pots to do this- but that’s not the fault of Jersey Plants.

Avoid and beware also trades as 'Gardening Direct'

I had a very similar experience to other reviewers with Jersey Plants Direct - a long wait for 'massive' plants which needed potting on for several weeks before being able to use them so vowed never to use them again. I ordered some bedding plants from 'Gardening Direct' in early April and was concerned when the transaction confirmation came through as being with 'Jersey Plants Direct.' I would not have ordered had I known Gardening Direct was a front for the same company. I guess they have set up a different trading name as the reputation of Jersey Plants Direct is so poor but the ratings for both trading names are equally bad. Six weeks after ordering, I have received nothing, you can't phone them and no response to e-mail / on-line enquiries. I have placed the transaction in dispute with my credit card company and will now head to the garden centre.

Mega plants disappointing - refund given

I posted a review 7 days ago to say that my sweet pea mega plants had arrived but were totally useless as all bashed about and I asked for a refund.
This is to let you know that I have now received a full refund despite my thinking that would not happen.
Thank you Lucy at Jersey plants. I am afraid that I still would not try again but at least the company is not as bad as I'd previously said.

Still waiting for my order 4033870…

Still waiting for my order 4033870 which was ordered on 7 April for 70 begonia Sahara ready plants. No Customer Service at all! Cannot get through on phone or email!

Really disappointed ☹️. Will you please send ASAP!

Received!

Received!! Yes, I have been waiting for more that one month. But plants were good and almost all from 70 ordered. The only delivery company has ruined a few flowers. Thank you for keeping your business running in lockdown!!!

Really bad service

Really bad service, does not answer emails and do not update with a delivery date, do not have a contact number..really bad!!

Both these guys and gardening express should be shut down!!!

Jersey plants

I had to complain 4 times in writing before someone made contact with me - the Osteospurnums, verbena and Celosia were all dehydrated, out of their boxes , broken stems, smaller than advertised ( Mega Plant size ) they have refunded me for some of the plants - still waiting for refund on others. I was told by one of their customer service team that the courier had probably played football with the boxes - not what I want to hear - change the courier for goodness sake before they ruin your business - definitely won’t be using again

Bought 3 lots of Jumbo bedding plants…

Bought 3 lots of Jumbo bedding plants and was very disappointed. The first arrived well packed and I was well satisfied. All 24 have taken.
I received the next batch- absolute disaster. They were packed so that the plants were horizontal in transit, meaning the bottom of the box was filled with compost and broken plants. I complained and was offered a refund.
The 3rd batch was another mess. Plants out of the tray, broken stems and bone dry. I might be able to salvage some but that is not what I paid for.
They say that Jumbo Plants are between 80mm to 140mm. Having measured the undamaged ones, the maximum is 80mm - not one was more.
Can't understand why they've got good reviews on Feefo 4.2 and Trustpilot have them as poor 1.6

Unsatisfactory !!!

I am an honest fair minded and very honest man.
I received my order from this company and upon opening immediately upon receipt the 70 alleged plants were in an in an unsatisfactory state.
The plants were tightly packed rendering them difficult to remove and to plant up.They were also very dry. I managed to retrieve 30. I notified this company immediately. It seems they didn’t believe me as they asked me to send them photos of the damaged plants.
I can’t be on with the hassle. Others did warn me before placing my order that this company is dodgy. BUYERS BEWARE !!!!

Very very disappointed

Very very disappointed. I ordered 4 trays and a bag of compost..still waiting for 2 trays and everything has arrived separately. They came thrown about in their packaging and I actually was only able to use half of what I paid for.
Do not use as they're not worth it..spend your money elsewhere.

Made contact at last I appreciate the covid 9 situation but it did not stop you taking my cash immediately plants poor quality and no sign of planters and soil blamed it all on courier awaiting refund rubbish customer service

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. Our very simple order for plug plants was placed on the 24th March and there is still no sign of them more than 6 weeks later.

I appreciate in the Covid pandemic, working practices may be challenging, but if you can not keep up with the dispatch of simple orders, close the website to new orders whilst you catch up on the dispatch. It’s not rocket science.

We have been customers of Jersey Plants for over 12 years. This is the last time we will use them. They have become greedy and totally inept. A ‘one star’ rating is a compliment for this company.

Absolutely disgusted by the non…

Absolutely disgusted by the non response from this company, I ordered some plants over a month ago, money was taken straight away. then I got an email saying they couldn't trace my order and would refund my money within 7 days, I have since sent 4 emails and tried to phone on numerous occasions and still nothing. other online companies have managed to fulfil orders. I will never order from them again, and will take it to trading standards if I don't hear within the next few days!!!

Charged twice

I have been charged twice by this company, e-mailed company have been refunded just the once. So no plants and no refund ordered plants over a month ago will keep trying but don't hold out much hope. Please just deal with the orders you have and honour them instead of taking advantage of people who were trusting you to deliver
