Major health and safety issues and…
Major health and safety issues and appalling customer service.
My son was at a birthday party in Jump Zone Liffey Valley on 22 June 2024. During one of the activities there was an accident, which my son reported to the party host straight away. There was no first aid provided to my son and he was sent back to continue on with the activities until the end of the birthday party. I, as a parent and other parents weren't even notified of the accident by Jump Zone. It seems that Jump Zone was trying to hide any signs of an accident. I only found out when my son sent me a WhatsApp message to say that he is in pain. I was in shock. This is when I raised my concerns over the phone, the first aid responder appeared and asked other parents on premises to sign the paperwork that I haven't even seen and received a copy of it. After conversation and recommendations received from the first aid responder I had more concerns and questions.
Next day we went to the hospital - fractured finger and a cast, this is what we came back home with.
When I logged a complaint (the complaint procedure doesn't exist in Jump Zone) and requested accidents and injuries policy, it appears that all the steps in their in-house procedure document weren't followed. To my query why first aid wasn't provided to my son, Danielle (the manager) replied that my son refused it, which isn't true, as my son came over to the party host to report the accident and asked for help. However, even if he had refused it, he is a minor and not able to make these decisions. Jump Zone is responsible for following the accidents and injuries procedure document and notifying parents, however, it wasn't the case.
There was back and forth communication and face to face conversation with Danielle after which I realised that they don't care. There were no apologies and acknowledgement of their failures. They are so used to these scenarios and the fact that there are no consequences. I have asked to speak with one of the company directors, as I don't think they're aware of what's going on in their business and Danielle refused to arrange that.
It's still ongoing. I'm trying to find the right home for this accident.
Please think twice before considering bringing your kids to this place.
This place no longer exists for my family. I can't believe that a customer and kids orientated place can blame minors for refusing first aid and this is a business approach that Jump Zone is practising.
