Love the teachers. Have students with K12 from high school thru 3rd grade. Need more class connects about science and history for elementary students. Middle school is awesome sauce. High school is great but need to slow down a smidge with math lessons to make sure everyone is understanding before setting homework. Also having teachers to stop unlocking assignments on Friday before 4pm and having them due the same day when a week is needed to get projects done.

We have been with CPOA since kindergarten. The teachers have been knowledgeable, helpful and caring.

I couldn’t be happier as a parent with Colorado Prep. They have engaging teachers and high quality lessons. You get out of it what you put into it.

We love the Stride platform and curriculum, but the way this particular school is run is really a missed opportunity for a K12 school to be as wonderful as they can be (this was not our first Stride K12 school). While they do offer science and social studies, the main focus of this school is unequivocally ELA and Math. They test in these subjects monthly, which is excessive, and time could be better spent supporting struggling students or offering a community building activity, or even offering a fun class like teacher led PE or Art. They also require multiple teacher-led classes DAILY in these subjects, regardless of the student’s performance level. This makes the K12 promise of flexibility a complete falsehood in this particular school. It lacks balance since they don’t offer teacher-led music, art or PE classes, and it really seems like they just want students to show up, do some Math and ELA, test, repeat until the end of the school year. It was such a cold experience that is nothing like what I want for my student’s elementary school. We thought we’d be a Stride K12 family for life but we are going to try another program after this school!

Honestly, I don't feel as though my son is getting a quality education. The classes do not challenge him, he is often done with all his work within two or three hours, and he never seems to have enough work outside of class. Scie ce doesn't make him do labs outside of class, reading is all done within class hours, there is not enough writing happening, and social studies doesn't really dive into the content area.
If he wasn't going to be a senior this coming year, ai would switch schools.

I love the flexibility of an online program that has teacher led courses and excellent classroom interaction.

I love Colorado Preparatory Academy because it offers a curriculum that truly challenges my son. He actually enjoys school and looks forward to attending Class Connect sessions. The teachers are outstanding—supportive, encouraging, and genuinely invested in their students' success. I also appreciate that the school offers specialized programs for gifted students and provides valuable guidance to help students prepare for life after graduation, whether that means college or trade school

My 7th and 9th graders just finished their 5th year with K12. We really love how caring the teachers are, and the flexibility this type of schooling offers. They have time to learn AND do the extra activities they love to do. They get to be kids, and that is what is important to me. I also love that they can learn without the distractions they have at an in-person school. I could go on and on for pages about the pros to K12.

CPA is a strong choice for families looking for a high-quality, tuition-free online education in Colorado. It’s particularly well-suited to students who are self-motivated, need a more flexible schedule, or benefit from learning at home. While it may not be perfect for every learner, it has been a great fit for our family. CPA has also helped work with our daughters IEP we had a great year and experience at CPA. Looking forward to the new school year!

My son seems to enjoy his classes and the curriculum. I know he's learned a lot every single year he's spent at cpoa. He started out a little behind and I believe he's caught up with his grade level. I wish the schedule was a little bit more flexible on Fridays maybe not requiring so many class connects and only OLS homework and classkick homework. I know this school is not go at your own pace but I believe if a student has a passing grade such as a or b they should have some more flexibility in their schedule especially on Friday. In our city all the schools operate 4 days a week, especially after Christmas break. My son has had the pleasure of having some really great teachers as well.⭐💯

This year we did not have a good experience with my child’s third grade teacher as well that the assistant principal. My child’s needs were completely ignored her teacher was very rude and when i brought this to the attention of other staff I was basically bullied by the assistant principal and met with hostility. I will not be returning to Colorado preparatory which, is very unfortunate as I love the k12 program. I only wish it was offered through a different institution.
