I absolutely love VSVA for my daughter. Public school did not work for us, she was absolutely miserable there due to bullying and teachers acting as if her anxiety didn’t exist. She would cry every night before school and it was incredibly tough on her as a kindergartener. The following year, her father and I decided to pull her out of public school and give VSVA a chance. I am forever grateful for this opportunity that I have as a mother, to be able to help my daughter comfortably and successfully reach her academic goals each year. Thank you so much VSVA and everyone who is part of this amazing program we have for our children. I am so very thankful for every single one of you. We ❤️ VSVA!

My kids are both on the spectrum AND intellectually gifted. Their teachers every year, go above and beyond to make sure my kids are challenged and their needs are met. The teachers genuinely care and the students know this! When a teacher cares, students learn better. Sometimes, my kids' classmates come to the school because other schools cannot meet their needs or because other schools will not accept them due to their academic level. VSVA (and TNVA) have no enrollment threshold as of now (current TN legislation making it way forward, so sadly, may force a change in this in order for them to stay open to serve as many students as want to attend). Often, students some in behind academically and in a poor place mentally. After being at one or the other of these schools, their mental health improves (again, teachers make sure all of their students know they are cared for by their teachers). When their mental health improves, academics improve. It takes time, but there is growth and safety! At time same time, VSVA is able to challenge intellectually gifted kids and let them seamlessly skip a grade in certain subjects, such as the case with my daughter and likely my son in a couple years. VSVA challenges those thriving and needing more and encourages those struggling and needing support. These schools are amazing and we love them!

He is doing well in all of his classes and us much more able to do school because of this before he couldn't barely get to school for how bad his social anxiety is but this vsva has done a lot to actually make him feel welcomed.

The "company" is doing fine. Our teacher this year, however, is awful. She doesn't follow the curriculum and then blames the students when they aren't doing well (even though it was the majority of her class). We were sent a plethora of work books and learning tools that NEVER got used by the teacher. Most of the things that were mailed to us for the school year are still sitting in their boxes.

We love VSVA and the support they provide the students. They hold the kids to a high expectation, but always provide the education and the tools and encouragement to reach the goal!

The school schedule was great, the teachers were also. My daughter gained confidence while enrolled. I like the flexibility of the courses.

VSVA is amazing, because they offer my middle schooler flexibility, when it comes to environment accommodations for migraines. With those in place, my child is an all A student, with very few absences, since her needs are met. Best part of a virtual education is the fact that any bullying is easily mitigated, so anxiety and stress are practically eliminated.

Every aspect has been such a nice experience for my 1st grader. This is her second year and she is thriving. I love the small groups classes that is basically like one on one for your student to get a little bit of help in the subjects they seem to need just a little something extra. Love the staff/teachers (we LOVE Ms. Allie and Mrs. Piburn) and how well informed they keep us parents. The communication with vsva in my opinion is outstanding compared to the actual brick and mortar of public schooling. And I know first hand because I have two older children still in person public school with Knox Co. Looking forward to the future years with vsva with my youngest and am so thankful we found them!

We love VSVA! We are happy with our choice to send our daughter here and we are about to complete our 2nd year. The teachers are very hands on and communicate very well with us on all matters concerning our daughter. We are very thankful to have the opportunity to be apart of the online school at VSVA. We are looking forward to 8th grade in the fall!

At the moment I am feeling neutral about our experience. My son is really struggling to stay engaged and focused during class. Some teachers are better than others at pulling him back in. I’m undecided if we will continue with VSVA for the next school year or look for something else that may better meet his needs. I was really hopeful this would work out for him and I’m sad and disappointed that it may not.

I love that the kids can work at their pace and not be rushed to complete assignments, and not being distracted by stuff that goes on at a public school. I also don't have to worry about my kids not being safe.

My daughter being apart of VSVA has helped her tremendously and she has had amazing grades the years she has been using this school

The entire staff are helpful no matter the situation. My son is on a spectrum and it’s convenient having him home with me while he learns so that he’s comfortable in his own home and doesn’t have to worry about being talked about and picked on by others.

We’ve had such a wonderful experience with virtual school for our second grader! The teachers are incredibly supportive, engaging, and patient, making learning both fun and effective in an online environment. The curriculum is well-structured and keeps our child challenged while still being easy to follow at home.
We especially appreciate the strong communication and the way the program encourages independence, confidence, and curiosity. Our child looks forward to lessons each day, which says so much about the quality of the program.
Highly recommend to any family considering virtual learning this has truly been a five-star experience for us!
