We’ve had such a wonderful experience with virtual school for our second grader! The teachers are incredibly supportive, engaging, and patient, making learning both fun and effective in an online environment. The curriculum is well-structured and keeps our child challenged while still being easy to follow at home.
We especially appreciate the strong communication and the way the program encourages independence, confidence, and curiosity. Our child looks forward to lessons each day, which says so much about the quality of the program.
Highly recommend to any family considering virtual learning this has truly been a five-star experience for us!

The teacher had an issue with my sons paper he turned in. The teacher felt a 1st grader could not know what embryo or transformation means. The teacher met with my son over the k12 chat and actually integrated him. I was listening in and she was aggressive towards my son. Instead praising him for what he did and try to explain to him her concerns, she told him how he doesn't know what these words mean and who helped him. My son froze and was very upset. The teacher told him he would receive a zero for his grade. Now! its not what you say but how you say it. Its not what you do but how you do it. I didnt respond back to the teacher instead I reached out to the principal, vice principal and assistant principal wirh no response back regarding my concern. I reached out to the executive director who said now that you disenrolled your son good luck to you both! that's it!! Not im so sorry! that's unacceptable. I reached out to the department of education. I'm waiting for a response back. The work load alone for a 1st grader is to much. The learning coach is like the teacher. The only way you can do this learning coach job is if you don't work. Now Acellus is a great private school. Its a self pace private school. You have to pay for it but way better and we'll worh it. The process are reasonable. A happy learner is a productive one. My son is so excited to learn now. Please parents think twice before enrolling in k12. I understand they have parents who are with the program, but overall it's a very stressful situation to be in.

This school experience has been wonderful for my grandson. With him having autism and other medical issues, being able to take his classes at home has been the best thing that has ever happened to him.

K12 is great for my child with anxiety, and not having to worry about him in brick and mortar schools

The teachers and staff always go above and beyond to help each child reach their highest potential. This year will be our third year at VSVA, and I have seen tremendous growth thoughout the past two years.

We have been here since COVID and it has been absolutely great. The one on one attention with the teachers and the willingness they have to help my son succeed has been a wonderful experience. Not only is he learning the scholastic side he is also learning independant responsibilities. My viewpoint is that the focus is where it should be...on the student and the educational value obtained through the program. I am a fan and would recommend it to anyone wanting those values to be met!

VSVA could benefit from better organization overall. The schedule changed frequently—almost every other week—which made it difficult for students to adjust and plan effectively. Communication was also an issue, as the principal rarely responded to student concerns or inquiries.
For seniors in particular, there was a noticeable lack of available resources. There should be more opportunities such as virtual career fairs and consistent access to guidance. Having a supportive and helpful graduation coach and counselor is essential, but unfortunately, the grad coach was not helpful throughout the year.
Seniors would benefit greatly from more structured support with completing the FAFSA, applying to colleges, finding scholarships and programs, exploring job opportunities, and planning for life after high school. Increasing resources and one-on-one support in these areas would make a significant difference in students’ futures.
