Firstly. No one replies to your messages. This is not necessarily their fault as it is a competitive market. But they do promise a quick and easy solution. Secondly the app is bugged, the messaging board is not user friendly at all. And the cancelation doesnt work. Be ready to pay double of what they ask of you. Because if you cancel at the end of the month they will just charge you again even if you cancel on time.

Been living in the Netherlands (Groningen) for almost 3 years and Kamernet helped me connecting with my second landlord in 2023. Unfortunately 2 years later, the subscription price for just the weekly option has raised outstandingly and the published housing options on the platform show a lot of preference for Dutchies. Good luck if you're an international student at your first year. Cherry on top of a delusional Kamernet cake? Even if your email inbox is full of emails about housing providers/platforms subscriptions you've done to find an accomodation, and you inadvertently miss or forget Kamernet's reminder of your onerous subscription renewal, they will not cafe and not refund you - here's how a company loses a potential user by showing zero compassion or understanding.

Generally happy with their service, but pay attention that when you sign up for the subscription, you waive your right of withdrawal.

I didn't find house, none of the house owners responded. I wrote lots of them, no one replied.

Good experience! Messaging app is a little annoying as does not save messages as most recent and you have to change settings every time. Also would be good if you could include photo of yourself in the original message.

Ability to speak to landlords directly.

Some technical issues:
a: Upload photos failure in conversation for website users which effect conversation with landlord
b: Several minutes delay in text message delivery after sending a message (especially for different time zone); potential opportunities might be missed out
c: The email notification not being spontaneous when the landlord replies my renting request, some messages will be missed out.
d: Some of landlords just flag of convenience; false advertising; put good pictures in Karmernet, but totally different place and house situation in real life viewing.
e: Rude & ridiculous & picky landlords in Amsterdam.
TIPS: MORE LANDLORDS REGULATIONS NEED TO BE ESTABLISHED to ensure fairness.

There are many properties, but very little viewings proposed.

In this scammer-filled atmosphere, Kamernet offers a secure opportunity by verifying the people we communicate with, so I would like to thank the team. As criticism of inspections, the landlords and real estate agents should keep the details of the properties updated and specify property types clearly, such as furnished/unfurnished or shared rooms, studios, etc. This would save time and allow us to use filters more effectively. Also, I wish some landlords would at least have the decency to review tenants' messages and respond if negative. Most importantly, it is quite annoying that a new internet tab opens every time you visit a different ad, and seeing so many Kamernet tabs makes it confusing to remember where you left off.

Kamernet is truly horrible for students or people on a tighter budget looking for anything more than a 2 month sublet. New listening aren’t put up often and when they are, they are typically €2000+ and for such a brief period of time. The customer service is equally horrible. Make sure you cancel your subscription multiple days before renewal because despite me cancelling the day before my renewal date I had to pay for another month since they have a strict policy of having to cancel minimum 24 hours before renewal.

I feel like Kamernet doesn't remove ads of properties that already found a tenant. I paid for an account and responded to around 10 places I was interested in at the time, the next day 4 of them were automatically removed because "the landlord already found a tenant", all in one day. I responded to so many ads and only one responded.
More so I don't think ads that have not found a person but are old are shown to me as "new"??? Today I log in to respond to "new" ads and a room for a period of "1 May to 1 of June 2025" is shown to me as new ad. It's 22nd of July 2025. Scam , there is probably like 15 actual ads that take responses.

It's the most discriminatory site I've ever seen. 90 percent of offers is for Dutch speaking only! How is it even allowed in EU???

Reply from Kamernet
Probably the best place for finding a room in a shared flat. The alert systems works quite well. Although the market is difficult, quickly replying to new ads (and a bit of patience) does eventually get you there.
