This force cares about results, not victims.

I was on the receiving end of harassment for over three years (all evidenced) from a neighbour who is on life probation for murder, & who has a string of other violent offenses, for which he has done time whilst on the estate. I have seen him attack neighbours physically, threaten to kill their pets and family, vandalise their property, & attack police officers when arrested. The stalking started during covid, I hadn't lived there long, in the form of letters being put through my door both complimenting & criticising me. The harassment started when I witnessed him go after yet another neighbour, which I disagreed with, he became abusive & threatening & started making threats, and calling me a two bit tart, a dirty dirty Tramp etc. The abuse went on for some time, then stopped, he'd apologised to neighbours, paid for damage, brought a silver engraved box over to my home & left it on my recycling bin. I took it as an apology, but still didn't want contact, & so the abuse and threats continued. He resorted to laying behind my car preventing me leaving the car park, threatened to smash my car up then report it to the police himself, he threatened my then partner, admitted he'd turned up at his elderly mother's, had gone looking to find where he lived, the whole ordeal was terrifying. The abuse worsened after he was seen in the communal gardens with a knife, reported by a neighbour, when I heard this I withdrew from making a statement a 2nd time, frightened he'd stab me, as police were taking a long time to respond to calls. However, he assumed it was me who rung the police, & the threats and abuse became a daily occurrence. I was constantly on edge, having to leave my mobile on record to collect the evidence, he only lived 50 feet from me, at most, and watched me out of the window, coming out to the grounds to be abusive. I was unable to park my car near my home, I am physically unwell, which caused further stress. He sought to spread lies about me as he'd done to other neighbours, calling neighbours racist, paedophiles, murderers, rapists, he bragged about telling probation what he was planning to do to me. He involved my adjoining neighbour exploiting the strained relationship we had due to hoarding & dementia. He breached official warnings from the police. Finally, I plucked up enough courage to go through with writing a statement, I'd been forced out of my home by the consistent threats to kill me, break my neck, & abuse from now not only him, but the adjoining neighbour who he'd triangulated with. My Landlord DBC did nothing to protect or help me, so I waited for the court case a year homeless, sofa surfing & sleeping in my car which came with its own vulnerabilities, as a single woman alone. At Medway Magistrates they put a shield up so I didn't have to see him, I gave my evidence, also learned he'd been videoing me leaving my home, & videoed himself counting his steps over to my gate, his behaviour ticked all the boxes of stalking, just that he didn't have to go very far to do it. Finally, I was told I would get help with a borough move, & counselling from the longstanding abuse I'd suffered. However, despite all the talk, they went back on everything promised by so-called Witness protection, and I was left homeless, worst of all the arresting officer in charge who I'd trusted, who had read my statements, gone through all the evidence with & the effects on me, promised to support a move given the man's violent history, it being evident he does not respect warnings to stop his behaviour, and the effects on me, had told my Landlord DBC something completely different, that he did not support a move, and that I could return to the home, as such DBC has threatened to evict me if I do not. This is a gross betrayal of a victim, it doesn't get more corrupt than this, I have no idea why the arresting officer did this. He had said there had been no more incidents with this man, while omitting the fact that I wasn't living at the address, fact is this officer having seen the effect that this man's behaviour has had on me via GP letters, & statements, has stated that this isn't enough, that its ok to force me back into a situation, like a sitting duck, an experiment, where I can continue to be abused by this man who still frequents the estate, or worse murdered.

A shield in court, no shield after. A restraining order, but no risk of further abuse, contradictions in terms, this officer cared nothing about the victim, the fear, the depression, the panic attacks, the nightmares; he only cared about the outcome in court, after that the victim can go to hell, & literally at that. If he harms me this Force will have blood on their hands, my mental health is at risk, they don't give a damn. I've made a formal complaint, not investigated by them, now going to IPCC. Sentencing now pushed back to 3rd July 2024.

I've been stalked harrased bullied and…

I've been stalked harrased bullied and deliberately terrorised for 2 years everyday by a neighbour who moved in two years in the flat directly above me. As soon as she moved in she removed the carpets put laminated flooring down with no underlay and has continually banged dropped what sounds like a paper weight or dumbbell directly above my head. She has been stalking me and deliberately making my life hell. After 6 months of her banging I used a broom and told her to stop f-ing banging she called medway kent police on me and I got arrested for harrasment and gave a asbo. I have lived in this flat for over 8 years previously to her moving in and never have a problem with anyone. The police arrested me on false and malicious claims as her and her nan who lives opposite me said I threatened to kill her kid all of which are untrue. I have been recording her since October 2023 and have over 130 recording of her banging above my head. Medway police have refused to acknowledge that I'm the innocent party in this situation and won't do anything. I have complained on a number of occasion but they do nothing. I have never needed to use the police in my life before. I'm totally disappointed and disolutioned with medway police. I have now wrote to the iopc to report Medway police for for there absolutely horrendous handling of this situation and the fact that they picked on me as I'm a vulnerable and easy target. This despicable situation is currently still ongoing
May 2024 I'm innocent and will not stop till I get some rightful Justice.

Reported a crime

Reported a crime. We made clear cctv needed to be reviewed to identify the criminal.
Instead of reviewing the cctv, and gathering the evidence which should have been prioritise, the investigating officer instead took several leisurely drives to the victims home an hour from their office each time without first communicating or arranging the appointment with them. Consequently, the officer turned up whilst the victim was out each time and drove an hour back again.
Ultimately they spent so long wasting time that when they finally did decide to attempt to retrieve the cctv it had by then been recorded over.
Another criminal gets off due to the incompetence of the Kent police.

Good people with big hearts

I had the unfortunate experience of having to spend the night in Tonbridge Wells police station. Entirely my own fault. All the officers and staff treated me with the upmost respect and looked after my wellbeing from the start to finish. and I gotta give a massive shout out to the 2 officers that drove me home. Again all my own fault I was there but they all treated me with respect and curtsey.

101 was a recorded message, not a person.

Dialled 101 to report a burglar alarm in an unoccupied house. No-one picked up; I just got a recorded message to go online. I didn't report it online so a possible crime did not get reported.

If crime reports aren't important to you, Kent Police, then I and many others won't bother. I suggest you pick up the phone when called or the public will become disenfranchised.

Perhaps a lower number of crime reports helps Kent Police look better?

Nobody reads this (obviously as nothing been done for months)

Already written a review on their website but nothing, seem to dismiss legitimate concern and annoyance about the amount of noise and danger caused by dangerous driving in Strood. I have myself witnessed a teenage boy obviously trying to impress his mates end up prostrate on the floor with emergency services on site advising he not be moved due to serious injury because he was trying a wheely or sum such. When is this going to end? Constant noise of their hairdrier engines, why can't they just be satisfied without modifying their exhausts? Police need to do something and also the vehicles wheel spinning in the business park, do they not have a responsibility? Every night until early morning and it is getting to be beyond a joke yet Police seem to think because it's a noise complaint they don't need to worry about it?????? This is dangerous driving and does it take someone to die to make you realise, are you monitoring this and does this give you the overriding decision that this is not dangerous or drug and alcohol infused? Shame on the parents who allow their teenagers to go out at night with their expensive toys and ruin peoples evenings. Hope the petrol bill hits you hard in the backside. (and the tires because the amount of wheel spinning must need a new set every week)

Appalling Culture that Lets Down Victims of Crime

Appalling service to the public.
Lack of training or just a rotten culture?

Gaslighting the people of Kent. Talking the talk but not walking the walk. Too busy Tweeting to investigate. Vindictive when you raise genuine, evidenced concerns—masters of the 3Ds (delay, dismiss, deny).

Feel sorry for any decent officers left who suffer in silence, too afraid or disillusioned to speak out.
