Fantastic company

Fantastic company. Site visit to confirm what work was needed, utilising their numerous years experience. When the company turned up to do the work they were respectful, professional, hard working and everything was completed to an exceptional standard.

I cannot recommend this company enough and will always use them again for any other work needed .

Kent Cables , highly recommended

Kent Cables were from the off, friendly, prompt, great value and efficient. They called straight back, arranging to do the job in the busy lead up to Christmas. I was given advice on what would be the best value for my property and circumstances. Chris who fitted the alarm was friendly, patient, knowledgeable and explained everything step by step. I couldnt be happier with the work and also had both a phonecall and email to follow up and check I was happy with the work. Thanks guys

Cctv home system…

I’ve just had a four camera Cctv system installed at my property. After we had a prowler around the rear of our property we felt we needed more security. John and his team explained the process after first coming to inspect our property. They arrived and installed the cameras at strategic points and then helped us install the apps on our phone and showed us how to check on the house when we are away. The lads were friendly and fun but also professional. Can’t recommend this firm highly enough. John the director was such a nice man to deal with it was simple and installed for the price quoted. Couldn’t be happier. Looking at your house while you are away is a weird but comforting experience.

Excellent service!

Having experienced increasing internet issues and learning from Openreach we are due to be connected to fibre broadband shortly, we decided to get Kent Cables to do a survey and advise the best way to go forward. We have been delighted with the advice, fantastic service given by all members of staff and the end result. Before fibre is connected our internet has speed has doubled! The after care has been excellent, every little query has been quickly and successfully answered. Thank you Kent Cables, such a joy to find a really efficient, well run, great value for money company.

Cat 6 cable runs and Access point mounting

The company is a pleasure to work with.

Working from home mostly nowadays, I needed to tidy my existing home IT setup up a little.

Finally deciding that I needed cat 6 cable runs to 3 rooms in the house as well as an existing Unifi AP's mounted. 2 rooms were located downstairs so the runs were significant, it was best to let the professionals handle it this time round.

John was very helpful and responsive when I got in contact with Kent Cables. He carefully considered my plan and suggested various things that I had not considered. The plan and quote was sorted that afternoon. All agreed and work booked in shortly after.

Mark and Chris came in to do the work and did a fantastic job of running the cat 6 cables in the loft and neatly secured outside the house to their final destinations of wall ports in the rooms. My loft was not fully boarded but this was not a problem with the team. It was a pleasure to have them around and were happy to answer any questions I had. They also left the house clean after their drilling and cable routing.

Megan and Natalie were a pleasure to deal with with the quotes and payment and any other admin questions I had.

Overall it has been great working with Kent cables. The team is fantastic to deal with and would not hesitate in coming back to them for future jobs.

CCTV installation

I wanted cctv for my house so looked around for a reputable company and found Kent Cables.
I dropped them a call and had a lovely conversation with a chap called John. He popped round later that day and carried out an extensive survey of my property
advising me where best to locate the cameras as well as listening to my concerns with regards to security. John contacted me the next morning to discuss the quotation
and emailed it to me. Two days later his installations manager and security engineer arrived on time, they introduced themselves to me and happily showed me their identification badges.
They walked round my house with me and went over the installation plan to which I was Still happy with, then they commenced. Through out their time here both were very mindful of their surroundings
courteous and polite and very tidy. They were both happy to answer any questions I had and were happy to discuss the installation as they worked. Once the actual installation was completed
I was shown in detail how to use the equipment and how to install and use the cctv app on my mobile phone. Overall, from the moment I first made contact to the completion of my installation I felt very happy and reassured. The Kent Cables team know their stuff,
I would highly recommend them to all my family and friends. I also will be using you again shortly to install a new Burglar alarm.

Brilliant Service!

From the first call - only 30 mins after I first raised the enquiry - right through to completion and follow-up, the whole process with Kent Cables has been friendly efficient and professional. Initial survey happened a couple of days after 1st enquiry - John gave great advice and produced a quote and design within a few hours. Work started only a couple of days later and the guys were incredibly friendly and professional, despite sweltering heat and monsoon downpours. They cleared up after themselves and were covid considerate throughout. We now have seamless wifi throughout the house and you would hardly be able to tell they had been here - all cables and access points discretely tucked away. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kent Cables to any of my friends. Thanks for a great job!

Money oriented and rude director - nice team around him.

Some great people in the team - but the Director turned a simple enquiry into a full blown angry interaction - quite a horrid experience.

The accounts department were hassling me for money on Monday just 1 business day after installation - they knew I was away. They then called the next day (Tuesday) when I had returned home from being away and asked if there was a problem with payment. This was before I had even checked everything was good with the job.

When I checked, on Tuesday evening we were still getting 17mbps and 70 mbps, so on Wednesday morning I contacted them to see if I was doing something wrong. John was immediately defensive, saying that it was because I hadn’t been there at installation blah, blah, blah (they had phoned me to check what configuration I wanted instead)

When I queried why I was getting the same speeds as I was before the engineer explained perfectly (by text) yet the director (by phone) was argumentative and tried to make out that his staff were incompetent in their pricing, that £420 was a bargain to run an Ethernet cable up straight from the ground floor and add a wifi disc.

I had thought I was getting wifi in all of my upstairs. John then tried to don his salesman hat and tell me that it should be £2500 to get wifi in my house. That I should be grateful for my bargain! But that he would strike me a half price deal.

In the meantime the gentleman I had dealt with originally text to say that I could just add another disc and see how that went. (£70)

John on the other hand was making it out to be some major job - which could be as much as £2500. When questioned he said that the disc was £125, plus about £200 labour, plus 2 days configuration, plus an interjector - so should be looking at another £420

He tried to make it out that he was doing me a favour for doing it so cheap. (£840 in total!)

It felt like I was dealing with someone on commission - a hungry, slippery salesman who was intent only on extracting money from me.

In fact all he needed to do was explain that the construction of my house was reducing the ability to increase the speed in these rooms and that he was sorry that I had misunderstood that.

He tried to belittle me by saying that I was delusional to think that I would get wifi across my house for £420.

My brief had been clear though out and I had not received what I expected. I was looking for a solution and maybe middle ground to get things sorted.

Instead, I got an angry man who was putting down his team and me.

I explained to the director that i was not prepared to get into a row and that I would walk away from the situation and put it down to bad experience.

I immediately paid my outstanding bill

I sent a quick note to Paul (very nice chap and easy to speak with) which read :-

“ Paul - dad sorted a cat six cable to H’s room fir gaming (from the attic) I just spoke with John who one minute was saying he would put in an extra disc for about £125- when I asked if he had anyone else in the area the next thing he was saying £125 pus call out £200 plus time to configuration plus…. I just want wifi !!!

Can I say thank you for your help. I am thrilled with the speed of your set up in the attic and the Ethernet.

Such a shame that John was so obsessed with money and even started quoting £2500 to get things sorted!

I gave up in the end as it felt like he turned my query into a full blown complaint and an investigation about how you had misold me!!! Argh!!!!

You and then team seemed very lovely - I’m not a fan of the slippery salesman John who tried to make out he’s doing me a favour by charging me another £420 !

I’m paying - but he really needs to get some customer relationship training!! You were much, much nicer to deal with.

Some 40 minutes later I received an angry call from John the director to say that he was the director of the company and not a slippery salesman, that he did not like being called names and that I was banned from ever using his company ever again and then slammed the phone down on me.

I don’t think I have ever experienced anything like that (apart from when dealing with a toddler having a hissy fit!)

I can only share my opinion and experience- but I think it was clear before I received this bizarre, out of control telephone call that I was not going to engage with him ever again.

Personally I would avoid this company and my experience is that John is not worthy of my hard earned money.
