I attended the NEC in Birmingham on Saturday, October 5th, as my car is due for a change in November, and I was interested in Kia’s electric vehicles. However, when I approached one of their representatives, she walked away from me mid-conversation. I had to go after her and explicitly state that I was interested in an electric car. Her response? A dismissive “Are ya?” as if my inquiry didn’t matter.
After that unprofessional encounter, I walked away. If this is how Kia handles potential customers, I’ll stick with Audi or BMW—brands that actually value their clientele. Hugely disappointing.

Visited the local Norton Way Kia branch, sales person (Sat) and the sales team went above and beyond, great showroom and selection of beverages an absolute pleasure dealing with the them.
2024 Kia Sportage PHEV 4*4 73 plate
In this world of digital technology, analogue cars seem to be a thing of the past. Everything in the car is controlled by the computer system, similar to you phone and laptop. In common with these devises the faults on my new car are random and intermittant. The quality of the cabin and info system are great and on par with a VAG vehicle. The exterior looks great and is quite stylish. The car drives ok although not much feedback through the controls and steering, but its a comfortable drive. The boot is a bit small for a long journey with a family of four. On the negative side its powered by a 1.6 petrol turbo engine which is rattly (Old Ford Cortina sounding) at the top end if you push it. Once you have depleted the battery and on a long motorway run you will be lucky to get 37mph from the car. We have a hypervolt charger and we plug the car in every night. The car will run on its battery for approx 30 miles purely on EV mode and then brings the engine into play. It still uses the battery after this for low speeds. On average it produces a combined 135 mph on a 40 mph round trip to work everyday. Beyond this kind of range you are better off with either a diesel or pure EV. PHEVehicles don't make sense for long journeys at all as your dragging around a deadish battery. Whilst driving in Europe we would plug in at car parks or shopping centres but most charging centres only have the fast chargers and chargers for hybrid are hard to find and expensive. The Electric cost to cover the 35 miles or so in EV mode cost more than putting petrol into it. (£7 plus downloading multiple apps) It only makes sense if you can charge at home at a cheap rate which cost us £1.10 per night. As we only do shortish runs the car has reduced our fuels costs by 60%. On the negative side we have had many intermittent electric problems, Rear window stopped working for three weeks and suddenly started working again. The indicators have demonic possession as if the bulbs have gone but they haven't which happens about every three weeks. When trying to open the petrol cap the vehicle sends a message on the screen saying working on it. Its been back to a Kia main dealer 6 times since new and had many parts fitted without a solution. In fact I am writing this just before getting on the bus to go and pick it up again as I have been told its been fixed again. (hahaha) Would I recommend a Kia ? They are good cars. I like mine but I don't love it and I probably won't by a Kia again. I will stick with German. We have 11 year old C Class with 140,000 miles on the clock which gives us 55mpg and starts on the turn of a key without going through some digital start up procedure similar to switching on your laptop. We got the car from new and we have had it for 10 months now but we find ourselves driving the older car when we need to go for a longer drive.
First car and bad experience with kia…
First car and bad experience with kia uk.. I bought a kia niro EV (2020) from asford orbital kia dealer in october last year(2023) as I was confident that buying a car from private people is unreliable so buying a car from kia company is not a problem. When I asked for a test drive a few days before buying the car, they did not allow me to drive outside because the closing time was in 30 minutes, but I was allowed to do a test drive inside their car park area. So the test drive is not complete. But I decided to buy that car because I liked that car and had faith in Kia company. The next day I completed all the paper work online and the next day I went and signed all the papers and bought the car. while I was driving the car to East London home and when I slowed down and pressed the accelerator to speeded up I felt a lot of noise from the engine. Moreover, when listening with the front window down, I could hear even more It is unlike any other car. It was loud. Because I have driven Toyota and VW cars and they are very smooth. I never expected so much noise from a hybride car. I observed this and took the car back to the dealer. (When I drive, the noise annoys me so I asked a friend to drive there). There the one of the technician drove the car and said that no fault, this is the sound of this car. They said nothing could be done. I was very worried. £20500+4000 (interest) cost..I have been driving this coast unhappily for a month. In this situation, i had an accident when i was driving again to asford orbital.,the right part of the car was damaged. I felt apathetic. Even then, I had asked another person to drive.(becaus of i don't like to hear annoying engine sound) .I did not expect this, my cousin who was driving the car was included in the insurance as the named driver and when I went to the claim, my claim was rejected. Because the insurance has expired a few days ago. We did not notice this.My claim is rejected. So when I contacted kia uk custome service as I had to repair the car at my own expense and to protect the warranty, they immediately put me in touch with my nearest kia dealer - Glyn Hopkin in east london. Then I handed over my car to degham spray limited, kia approved garage in romford which they recommended. It's been a week they haven't started fixing my car ,and then they don't respond to my phone call, sms, email even when I go in person they don't respond properly. In response to my continuous emails after 3 months the manager contacted me saying that he is currently busy so he can't repair my car and asked me to remove the car from the garage. So when I tried to remove the car from there, we(with my mechanic) found the car's right mirror, fog light and sesor were stolen and we informed to the inchrage who were working there he told me that he would talk to his manager about this. Later on observation, I was shocked to see that bood cover blined, rear seat hed rest(3), log nut, and distance rador sensor were also stolen from the car.All these cost around £4500!!. I had Complained about this to their manager several times through email and sms but still got no response. So the Glyn hopkin kia dealer who recommended me the kia approved garage did not respond properly even after denying it. Because of this when I complained to kia uk customer service, they replied to that they will talk to the concerned kia dealership and get back to me.
After few emails kia uk replied me that kia dealership working independently and we can't do anything on this case!! I was shocked. So far I have spent £12500 on fixing the car, (as advised by kia orbital-asford) I had to buy kia genuine parts. It is very painful that I have not been able to complete or drive my car till now (10 months) after spending such a huge amount. The reason is that these stolen parts are not returned and the relevant kia uk or kia dealership does not care.
While kia uk did not help me to get back the stolen parts from kia approved garage, kia finance, santander insurance (kia's claint) and kia uk have been asking me through letters, phone calls and emails whether the car repair has been completed?, and said contract us immediately.
People who are asking whether a car bought from a kia dealership has been fixed or not - I don't understand how it is fair to say that the kia dealership is an independent company when I complain about a part stolen from the same car by a kia approved garage!I
Insurance+road tax+ resident permit for one year all paid. It's been a year since I bought the car, only used it for a month!! I paid all this money for nothing, waste.
I have been frustrated for a year by the kia dealership and kia approved garage contacted by kia uk. A similar experience should never happen to anyone else.

EV9 from Brentford
I purchased a Kia EV9 in March 2024 and have been impressed by the car. It am really happy with it on the whole. Last week I had a couple of small issues with the internal viewing screen which shut down and Tyre Pressure issues. I took it to the Brentford branch with no appointment and was seen promptly by Ven and he quickly rectified the problem and all sorted now!
Terrible customer service…
This was a higher rating until the sad and rather predictable experience below.
I bought a second hand Kia Venga from Kia Leeds.
Great up to this point, apart from the sadly expected promised phone calls that don't happen. Oh sorry, they rang constantly asking / and up to the balance being bank transferred.
Still ok....car needed a partial respray and alloy wheel refurb, which they did no problem.
I was assured that all second hand cars are thoroughly checked before being sold.
Drove it away on Saturday, noticed within 10 minutes excessive loud squeeling sound from wheels/s.
Rang them up straight away, told to leave it 2 days it may clear, fair enough.
Also noticed on string off loud bang, probably due to brake pads sticking.
Rang Monday, asked to bring it in Tuesday to be looked at.
Brought it in, expecting seized callipers. They had it most of Tuesday, told me at 530pm seizing brake. How is this possible if the cars are thoroughly checked?
Despite me being pretty sure garages can order simple parts like pads and have them delivered within an hour, I had to wait and bring it back Thursday.
Arrived Thursday 0910 hours, I told them I had an urgent appointment and had to leave Leeds at that time 1300. Bare in mind, this was a simple brake servicing / new pads job.My home address to the garage is a 45 mile round trip.
Back at garage 1225, pretty obvious the job hadn't been done, i think the service manager throwing some keys at another guy and saying " go and pick these pads up" gave it away.
I was then told with some attitude, it'll be five minutes. Obviously it wasn't.
I queried how could this happen if you check the cars thoroughly. I was assured they do!
Whilst I waited two other customers expressed their disappointment at the customer service.
I particularity felt offended by being blatantly lied to, and took for a fool.
The behaviour and contempt for customers was maddening and disappointing.
I was assured the vehicle goes through multiplexchexjs before
Totally useless
Trying to update my day nav on a 2022 Sportage
Customer service was totally useless and unprofessional
Avoid avoid avoid!! acorn Kia St Helens
I bought a Kia in good faith of a 7 year warranty. Little did I know the warranty isn’t worth the sticker it’s stuck on!
For context the car is 5 years old, on 8th September 24 it lost power on motorway. I contacted Acorns Kia St Helens and it was towed to them. A few days later I was informed it was going to be £1600 to replace the clutch and fly way wheel. I agreed to pay it as I am heavily pregnant with twins and have an autistic child so I was in a rush. I was told to expect my car the next week. The next week rolls around (over 20 calls to customer service at this point) and I’m told my car won’t be ready until the 23rd November!!!! And I won’t be getting a courtesy car! So I am stranded with no car in a desperate situation. I contact head office who promise to escalate the case but who have fobbed me off at every opportunity. On the 18th September 24 I told head office that I will be collecting from another garage who quoted me £800 and be fixed within 3 days. Head office passed the message on, they said my car was currently in pieces waiting to be repaired. Miraculously, with being threatened with taken to another garage they somehow have repaired the car, apart from the sensor, and want £1500! But wait for it.. I don’t get the car back till 24th November. Baring in mind a 5 year old clutch should not burn out. Endless chasing of customer service, nobody seems to care that I am in a vulnerable position with no car. I was hospitalised with high blood pressure from just one day of dealing with these people. Calls are ignored and car is quite literally kept hostage! Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

I always take my car to Feeder Rd in Bristol.
Ryan in particular is always helpful and generous with his time, going above and beyond to ensure I am happy with service that has just been done.
My only gripe is it could be warmer in the showroom. The free drinks help though.

This is the worst experience I had with kia worst service, worst car,you can't even use kia connect as they lock you and when you complain they said you didn't respond we closed your case .get bicycles better than kia cars

Tried to find accessories for a KIA NERO EV WASTE OF TIME
Tried to find accessories for a KIA Nero EV. MANAGED TO FIND THE PAGE AND THE INCOMPETENT INDIVIDUAL WHO SET THIS PAGE UP NEEDS A SERIOUS TALKING TO.
It asks you for the registration of your vehicle before you can get to the accessories. Sheer stupidity. I was going to be a new customer so i DO NOT HAVE A REGISTRATION NUMBER OR A CAR. i HAVE NOW SEEN THE MULTITUDE OF NEGATIVES AND NOT ONE HAS BEEN CONTACTED BY KIA A COULD NOT CARE LESS ATTITUDE.
Poor customer care
We bought a kia as they have 7yr warranty on all there cars. However the satnav is going off and the screen goes completely blank (although the radio still plays). We registered this fault with kia well within the warranty terms. However they say they couldn't find a fault. When we took it back several months later with the same fault, they say it's now out of warranty!! .....its the same issue as the one registered in warranty that they couldn't fix. Kia customer Service is horrendous and although I've had previously purchased kia cars I certainly won't buy another one😡

Very bad electric car with worst…
Very bad electric car with worst customer care. I had Toyota over 10 years drove 650000 miles no issues only normal wear and tear. My Kia electric drops battery faster than expected and their customer service is fun lot sitting there. They don’t care much never follow and contact customer back. There is much worst to say
When is a seven year warranty not a…
When is a seven year warranty not a seven year warranty ? When your three year old spare key stops working and the main dealers want nearly £200 to repair ! Private key specialist repaired the programming for considerably less - shame on Kia !
Colindale Humming Bird awful
Again it's service time and whilst I booked online as per instructions for Service and MOT, the MOT was not on their list. I also booked for delivery and collection and surprise surprise that was also not logged. If I hadn't called on the day to ask about collection timing no one would have called to ask where the car was! The option to rebook is a further delay of four weeks so I had to change work plans and get the car over to them. No one asked or checked what the car was in for they called me in the day to say service highlighted a few faults. When I asked about the MOT the adviser went blank and said is that what you booked?! Called me back 2hrs later to say it was not booked for an MOT and they will try to get it done otherwise will be tomorrow. I asked if someone could drop it back and guess what.... they have no drivers!!! If I did rebook for next week they could oblige for a fee. I mean whose fault is all this?! I followed the online instructions. Did I mention I had two texts since booking the car one to say, thanks for booking, then another reminding me to book a service/MOT which us running out on the 9th and a few mins later thanks for using KIA can we have feedback on your service!!! I asked to speak to the manager and wasn't allowed got told I'd get the same answer. I love the car but wish I didn't have to deal with the people running the place at Colindale. It's takes ages to get an appt I mean months and when you manage to get one it's a painful experience.
Absolute &%$. DO NOT PURCHASE A KIA, EVER!!!
UPDATE: Took my car to EMG Norfolk this morning (03-09-24), for the long overdue repairs. Was told by the staff member that Kia WILL NOT pay for 2 days insurance on courtesy car. Why am I not surprised? THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD DEALINGS WITH. CAN'T WAIT TO RID MYSELF OF THIS BLOODY ALBATROSS!
The following concerns the Kia Motors dealer at 313 Field End Road, Ruislip and the wlmg (MG, Kia, Nissan) Service Centre at 4 Stonefield Close, South Ruislip - all part of the wlmg group.
I bought a 6mo, ex demo Kia Sorento from my local dealer in May 2021. It was valued at £40,000+ and although I part exchanged the car I owned at the time, it meant I was still paying in the region of £22,000.
For that price you would expect perfection wouldn't you? Well, according to Kia, that expectation doesn't apply. And neither, for that matter, does quality, customer care, service, courtesy, respect, due diligence, professionalism, support, or proactivity.
Within two weeks of driving my car home and connecting to the Kia Uvo App, ALL my dashboard lights came on. It was a veritable disco, without the music or dancefloor.
I contacted Kia and they booked me in with their service department, who, after inspecting my vehicle, informed me the wiring had been, "chewed through by rodents". I have been driving for over 40 years and have never experienced this. Neither have I ever heard anyone else complain of this.
At the time I had 1 cat and 2 dogs and counting my neighbours (two houses on either side and the four houses opposite), we had a total of 10 cats in my immediate vicinity. Rodents would not have set up residence near my car!
Six months prior to my test driving and purchasing the vehicle, it had been sat, untouched, unsupervised, and undriven, somewhere on the forecourt of the dealership due to Covid lockdowns.
My question to the service personnel was, "Is it more likely the electrics were chewed whilst the vehicle was left on your forecourt, unattended, with no footfall for the best part of 6 months prior to my purchasing it, or in the two weeks it's been on my drive, with people moving about, me going in and out with my two dogs and the local neighbourhood cats?" My question was ignored and I was charged circa £300 for new cabling.
Circa one month after purchase, I noticed the lacquer/plastic coating on the front 'bumper' was bubbling and peeling off.
By then I had also begun experiencing other issues, which still continue: both rear doors not opening even with the car parked, handbrake on, engine off, and the door being opened EXTERNALLY; the sensitivity of the sensors is SO high that if a butterfly breaks wind in North Korea, my car vibrates, alarms sound, and the brakes are slammed on; if I spot something and try an evasive manoeuvre to avoid an accident, the car blocks the steering wheel; if I brake relatively hard (I'm not talking emergency stops) and then try to move forward, the car simply won't move, even if my foot is pressing the accelerator right down to the floor! This list isn't exhaustive. In fact it grows longer.
I returned to the service centre and complained to the then manager. He listened, agreed it was all unacceptable, took photos to send to Kia and then ... silence. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
When I returned to the centre I was told the manager had left and a temporary manager had taken over. I asked to speak to him. We sat in his office for about 1 hour as I reeled off a list of things. He was aghast. I then listened as he 'slagged' off the previous manager and continued to show me his wall chart, upon which he had a list of vehicles that all needed urgent work carried out and which he would have to deal with before getting to mine.
At the end of that meeting we agreed he would contact me when he returned from his short sojourn to Italy with his wife. Yes, I got to hear all about that too. Guess what? He never called. Furious, I asked for the name of the individual in charge of Kia.
I sent Ms Nicholls (the then Operations Director) a message. She apologised, saying she had, "expedited the matter to the South Ruislip Service Dept" and "(she would) investigate (my) issues and come back to (me) with (her) findings in the next 24hr". Since then ... NOTHING!
I am temporarily in Norfolk and EMG here, at King's Lynn are going to attempt to rectify things for me. However, the problem with the bumper peeling? They sent photos to Kia and guess what? THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
What a surprise. My advice to you all? DO NOT BUY A KIA ... EVER!!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THEIR VEHICLES. THEY DO NOT CARE IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG. THEY HAVE ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY, PROFESSIONALISM, PROACTIVITY, AND WILL DENY ANY LIABILITY AND ATTEMPT TO WRIGGLE OUT OF ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING.
I CANNOT WAIT TO EXCHANGE THIS PIECE OF &%$£ FOR A CAR THAT ACTUALLY WORKS
KIA - Dreadful - Stay Away
Bought the Kia from Clarks in Kidderminster, specifically for the 7-year warranty. What a joke!! When the first paid service was due I was quoted in excess of £460 for very very little work. I chose to have my car serviced and maintained at a different garage, which is why, when the fuel pump went they have refused to honour the warranty, as one receipt is missing. kit is quite clear the car has been well and regularly maintained but because we have not had services at Clarks (you'd need a morTgage to afford one) the warranty has not been honoured. My advice buy a better make. Stick to VW, BMW the better brands, if necessary buy an older vehicle. STEER CLEAR OF KIA!!
Had my Sportage just over 2 years
Had my Sportage just over 2 years . As of today it has been in to the garage for the 9th time for alerts on the dash !!! Apparently the car is not being driven fast enough or for long enough periods for soot to burn off the exhaust filter ! But apparently it’s not a fault ! I wasn’t made aware of this driving criteria! So unless you are a regular motorway driver do not purchase a Kia !
