No Communication and Huge Delays. Terrible Company
I have had a Kia Sportage on order since May 2024 with an expectation that it would be delivered in September. September came and went with no update available from Kia on the delivery date. Despite the delay we kept the order with confirmation that the car had arrived at port at the start of November. The delivery date has been pushed weekly since then with the revelation today that due to a self imposed emissions check on all non EV cars, all Kias have been held at port with no delivery dates available. They have however confirmed their frustration at the dealership as the cars are very profitable (no words needed). Terrible company. Ill be cancelling my order today.
Shockingly bad company - AVOID!!
In September, I bought a Kia Sportage and realised immediately that the clutch was slipping. I took it to my local Kia garage and told them the name of the company I’d bought the car from, as they’d be paying for the repair. Kia took weeks to make contact with them despite chasing them. In the meantime, I was sent a number of texts saying my car had been booked in for the repair, and to drop my car off at a given date and time. Each time I showed up, having fought through rush hour traffic, they claimed my car wasn’t booked in and turned me away.
I specifically asked if my car was safe to drive and their response was “yes, it’s absolutely fine”. Having taken this advice, I carried on using my car whilst I was waiting for the repair to be done. Travelling up to London one day to see a show, the clutch failed in the fast lane of the A3 and I was left stranded in a live lane. I rang the nearest Kia and was told that they wouldn’t do anything as the car had nothing to do with them. Apparently they are independent franchises so I had to pay to have the car recovered over 50 miles to my local Kia, along with paying for a train to and from London so our theatre tickets didn’t go to waste.
By this point, the company I got the car from had done their part and the repair still hadn’t been done, nearly 2 months later. Kia have refused to give me a courtesy car, so I have no way of getting to work, and I’ve had to borrow my disabled daughter’s car, leaving her without. I wouldn’t be in this situation if Kia had hurried up and fixed the issue, and have been left inconvenienced and out of pocket as a result, not to mention my daughter now being without her transport too.
Every time I ring Kia, there is no one on the service desk. I have called umpteen times asking for a callback, but nobody has bothered to return my call.
Kia have treated me with nothing but disrespect and contempt and I am absolutely furious. Breaking down in the live fast lane was also a terrifying experience and could have ended up far more dangerous.
I will never buy a Kia again and would advise others not to either!!
Awful customer care!!
Awful customer care!!! Long story short my 16 month old Kia ev Niro 4 started to leak battery coolant fluid. The local dealer didn’t have the expertise to repair this and Kia Uk insisted the car go back to them for repair. 6 months later my car was still at the dealership pending pick up from Kia Uk, and is still sitting there today! Neither Kia Uk not the dealership could give me any idea of time frame !!! After many phone calls and even more unanswered emails plus almost weekly visits to the dealership the dealership had had enough of us and paid us out( lower than actual value) but we took the money and ran!
Buyer beware!! We believe there are a lot of Kia Evs in dealerships across the country pending pick up with the same issue!! This company is truly dreadful !! Never again!!!

I am writing to express my profound…
I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the service I received at KIA Solihull today.
I initially visited last week for a test drive and decided to return today to discuss the purchase details of a vehicle. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.
During my visit, I felt completely disrespected and found the sales team to lack any genuine interest in assisting me. Their attitude did not reflect a desire to treat me as a customer; in fact, it seemed they were more interested in seeing me leave the dealership as soon as possible.
I am interested in purchasing a model EV9, priced at £80000. As a customer considering such a significant investment, it is natural to inquire about possible discounts. However, the salesperson dismissively offered me a mere £150 discount, equivalent to the value of four car mats. This offer was both insulting and inadequate for a purchase of this magnitude.
During the negotiation process, I inquired about the trade-in value of my current car. Instead of providing a straightforward answer, I was told they couldn't give me a quote. When I asked for the reason, the manager responded by asking me how much I thought the car was worth. I found this whole process very odd as I was there for a part exchange, not to play guessing games.
Throughout the entire process, I was left questioning whether the individuals I dealt with, Paul (the manager) and Andrew (the salesperson), truly represent the standards and values of KIA
Kia UK - Don't Care About Customers
Ordered a new mild hybrid Sportage on 7th November and was told that we should have the car within 2 weeks. After a week we were then told that delivery was pushed back but no firm delivery date. After some further pressing for reasoning, the dealership advised it was the fault of Kia UK. They are withholding delivery of petrol vehicles due to ZEV Mandate and there is no information on when we will get the car. It turns out the dealer were made aware of this the day after we ordered. Rang Kia Customer Services and after fobbing me off several times, blaming the dealer, etc, they finally admitted that it's Kia's fault and not the dealer but still can't tell me when we will get the car. Very frustrating as we needed the car within the 2 week time frame. Annoying that the car is at a depot somewhere in the UK with our deposit money tied up in it. Promised calls back from Kia UK after logging a complaint and they haven't been in touch once. Having to chase them everyday and we just get told someone is dealing with it. Looking like we will have to cancel. Kia UK simply don't care about their customers and certainly wouldn't be happy to buy a Kia ever based on this experience. Dread to think what they are like if you have an issue once you have the car.
New car purchase.
We recently purchased a new car from Kia Castleford. Our sales customer advisor Aaron was courteous, and very professional. Answered all our questions with clarity and knowledge. An absolute asset to the company. All the above can also be applied to James the sales manager.
Towbar …
I ordered a towbar to be fitted before delivery off my new sorento the wrong towbar was fitted . I enquired about purchasing a spare ball head ,and was told I can't buy one separately, so when it needs replacing I have to purchase a hole new towbar, I have been caravaning 23 years and these parts are always available ,what incompetent staff make these problems for people.was told the manufacturers don't discuss with the customer regarding this they only talk to kia ,what planet are they on .
Never buy a Kia!
We purchased a Kia Sportage from an approved Kia dealer. We wanted a reliable family car that would last. The car was great to begin with and we were really happy. It has been regularly serviced, well maintained and looked after. The first problem we encountered was the gas struts failing in the boot which eventually Kia UK agreed to fix. Little did we know at the time this would be the least of our troubles! Not long after, the front driver’s door lock failed then over the course of a couple of months, the front passenger & rear passenger also failed leaving us with 3/4 doors not working on the car. In addition, the synchroniser on the gearbox has also failed. We have a grinding noise when changing to gear 4. From internet research, all of these issues are very much known to Kia on this car. I’ve spent the best part of 12 months exchanging email after email with their appalling customer service department who refuse to accept any responsibility. The car has even been examined, at their own request, at an approved dealership who can offer no explanation for what has gone wrong, yet they still refuse to put this right. Their responses are short, blunt & not helpful in the slightest. You will also be lucky to get a phone call from the person dealing with your complaint. The customer service is nothing short of appalling. I will never buy a Kia again and would urge others to think very carfully before purchasing one. The car is great when everything is working but they are not built to last & when things go wrong, you will endure months of needless stress & upset.
Great First Impressions
We’ve had our 2024 KIA Sportage for a few months now and overall we’re highly impressed. Firstly, the car is stunning and very well built with a solid yet sleek interior and the software being very technologically advanced. All passengers and drivers have agreed it is very comfortable for long journeys and easy to drive. The 7 year warranty tops everything off, however, I wish it covered all non-consumables for the full 7 years (such as infotainment) which the likes of Toyota do and makes you question if they know that part is likely to fail sooner. Safety rating is good, albeit not market leading.
Service from our local KIA dealer has been outstanding, regularly kept in touch during the delivery process which was smooth and KIA Finance service is great too. Outstanding value for the product and would really recommend, will see where KIA takes us but so far it has been much better than Ford!
DO NOT BUY A KIA!!
Kia UK, what is the point of making EV cars if you are unable to fix your current EV cars!! Please tell me are you at all bothered with the inconvience caused!! 2nd time 12v battery issue, (only 17 months old ev6)- asked Kia dealer near me please replace with new battery - answer Kia UK have said test shows no issues!! ARE you joking!! Just as went to start car within Kia forecourt, 12v battery signage shown. NOW NOW got Kia attention and are going to inform Kia UK need replacement...
KIA UK are you more worried about £100/- battery replacement than the inconvience caused. Asked courteasy car - sorry dont have but can hire for £23/- a day!!! YOU ARE SELLING FAULTY CARS, FAULTY PARTS and rather being understanding and arrange a courtesy car when only there is only one car we owe, ev6!!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND KIA!! Kia dealers not their fault but KIA UK stop counting your pennies and look after customers as you have surely lose this customer and have asked for my refund on deposit paid for ev3......
Nice cars, appalling customer service
I've spent a lot of money at Kia, with a Stinger and an EV6. Both of them have broken down, which okay stuff happens I get that. I was without my stinger for over 3 weeks whilst they waited for an Injector.
The EV6 has been in tha garage on 6 different occasions, had 3 different 12v batterys. Had broken GPS, broke air conditioning, broken boot, failed parking sensor. The final straw was the ICCU going pop and leaving me stranded on a dual carriageway.
Kia know about the issue, and are aware of the fix. Instead of spending the money and ensuring there customers are safe, they opted to be cheap and leave me in a dangerous situation.
To make matters worse, not during the 2 months I've been without my EV6 was I able to get a courtesy car. My complaints with Kia were met with emails asking me for patience (as if only complaining after the 5th issue wasn't patient enough). I'm still patiently waiting for a response today.
The cars have been great when they work, but my god the customer service is utterly atrocious. I will never buy another.
2021 Kia Picanto
2021 Kia Picanto. Our car has only done 10000 miles in three and a half years, I noticed the front (Nexan) tyres had splits in the side wall. The Basingstoke dealer ; Snows, had zero interest and told me to contact Kia UK, they had even less interest and suggested that I contact the dealer again! This was a Kia supplied car with original tyres so you would think that they would be concerned…..no, not at all. The tyre depot who replace all 4 tyres were gobsmacked at the condition of the tyres and hadn’t seen anything like this kind of deterioration before.
Kia are relying on previous history of customer care and have no interest in anything current, this will not last long once the customer base realises this…..RIP Kia, please do not buy a Kia so you don’t suffer as so many are.
Bad company in the UK
KIA - such poor after service.
Purchased my 3 year old, ex-motability Xceed car from Evans Halshaw KIA Stourbridge on 30/3/24. Had recurring problem with batteries on key fob, so booked in on 3rd Oct. Phone call to say that fobs sorted but serious fault found with callipers (brake mechanism) sticking on and worn down brake shoes. Not fit to drive. Expected return 9th Oct. Explained that I am disabled, not able to walk far and not on a bus route. Cannot get out. Can they supply a courtesy car? No, sorry they don't do courtesy cars. Rang on 9th - parts coming from Belgium on 15th Oct. Rang 14th - parts coming on 16th Oct. Phoned 17th. parts expected 22nd. Spoke to Mr Daniels, Service Manager. Parts now coming from Germany. Explained that this is an impossible situation with my inability to get out to shop, medical appointments, etc., He says he will try to get courtesy car from Kia for me. Awaiting return call.
My Kia keeps losing power been back to…
My Kia keeps losing power been back to garage 4 time now say part on back order have to have a hire car which has been nothing but hassle to sort Kia never again😡😡😡
Avoid the 2017 Sportage
2017 Sportage crank broke whilst driving down the motorway causing the car to seize up and nearly crash. Product recalls have happened in several other countries for the same reason including the USA and Australia but not in the UK.
This has left me with a worthless car and a £8k loss. After speaking to Kia there is clearly no interest in helping or resolving the situation.
If you look on social media groups for the Sportage there are MANY other people with very similar issues with the same age Sportage. Avoid buying these as second hand cars.
Clearly reading the other reviews on here, Kia just does not care enough about their customers.
Kia sportage exhaust filter issue
I have Kia sportage 2024 reg, petrol and since January twice exhaust filter warning light came on and for getting off of this light I have to drive with the high rev engine and waste fuel.compare it with other cars I believe Kia did not make this car with quality parts and I am so disappointed.
Appalling Customer Service
I took my 69 plate Kia Sportage for an annual service and MOT at Kia Bolton last week (Tuesday 08/10/2024). I was informed that my car would be ready for collection at 2.00pm that day. When I arrived back at the dealership at 2,30pm I was told that my car required replacement rear brake discs and drums and that this work would approximately take 1 hour. 3 hours later at 5.30pm I was told that my car was ready but the satnav update was still on-going In order for me to get home the service assistant said she would post the updated chip to me the next day and confirm this by phone. On returning from a short trip abroad 6 days from the date of my service I have still not received the updated chip or received any phone calls as to why there is a continuing delay. As a result I phoned the dealer to ask for an update. I was told that the service person who was dealing with this issue was unavailable but would call me back shortly. After 1 and a half hours later with no call I called again for an update, Again I was told that the person was unavailable and that somebody would definitely call me within the hour. As yet, over 2 hours later, no call! This dreadful lack of customer service and lack of communication is totally unacceptable. As things stand I have no idea what the problem is or when this matter will be resolved! Needless to say I will not be using this dealership again and, when changing my current car to a new model, will be selecting a manufacturer who can provided a decent customer service which Kia Bolton certainly has not!
Just short of 3 years old my Kia…
Just short of 3 years old my Kia Sorento auto gearbox failed. Obviously 7 year warranty so didn't think it would be a problem to get fixed. My dealership in Burton said they couldnt look at it for a month. I carefully drove it down so if they had a cancellation it was there.
Luckily 2 days later the dealership diagnosed a failed oil pump on the gearbox. New oil pump couldn't be sorted for 6 weeks. Dealership blamed Kia uk parts supply.
On getting the car back the auto gearbox was erratic- it changed gears at odd times or didn't change. It lerched and clunked when starting the engine. I returned the car 3 times, I even drove the car around Burton to show the engineer the problem. This is now 8 weeks after the initial problem and Burton Kia and myself agreed it needed a new gear box. Kia uk would not allow a new gearbox to be ordered. From mid June to mid August the car was unfit for purpose. Only after emailing Kia uk direct did they allow their dealership to order the box. Delivery was expected late October!!!.
In the end I served notice via the consumer act 2015 that the car had to be repaired by the end of September.
Low and behold, miracle of miracles a gearbox appeared at the dealership in the 3rd week of September and surprise surprise it was repaired before my deadline. I asked for extended warranty and a free service package by way of compensation for the 5 months the car was unfit for purpose but this was dismissed without even considering it.
When I left a poor rating on Kias internal star system I was told to never bring car back to kia again. I'll never buy another kia nor recommend them.
Kia - Southend
Over the past two years, I have repeatedly returned my car to Kia Southend due to an oil leak, which causes me to use approximately 4-5 liters of oil per month.
Despite my efforts, Kia has failed to resolve this issue each time. On several occasions, I provided a photo from an external mechanic showing where the oil was leaking while replacing my brake pads. However, I was told that the Kia technical team would conduct their own investigation, and my photo was never forwarded.
Kia staff informed me they wanted to keep my car for a few days because they noticed a leak either in the transmission or the sump. They indicated they would need to strip the engine to determine the exact source of the leak. When I picked up my car days later, I was told they had only replaced the valve cover gasket again, which had already been replaced about two months prior.
As I drove out of the garage, I immediately noticed the car felt different and shaky. Due to other commitments, I couldn't return that day. The following morning, when I took the car out, it broke down, leaving me stranded on a main road with my kids inside. The AA came and performed a quick diagnostic, revealing no compression in cylinder 2.
I had my car towed back to Kia, and suddenly the staff began requesting my entire service history, which had not been an issue regarding the oil leak. I provided all the service history I had but was told I wasn’t covered. When I mentioned the car's changes after the recent work, a staff member responded, “It could just be a coincidence.”
Throughout the investigation, I received conflicting information about checking injectors and the coil pack, which seemed irrelevant to the compression issue.
After nearly four weeks, I was informed that a valve had been damaged. However, I was never given a reason for the damage, which cost me £1,320 to repair. They stated this wasn’t covered because they would have checked the valves under the 60,000-mile service, which I have yet to complete. I believe this is incorrect, as it is not stated on the Kia maintenance schedule.
I have been forced to sell my Kia, as the car, while now drivable, still has the persistent oil leak. I know it’s only a matter of time before it ends up back in the garage.
