I bought my Kobo to replace a Kindle that Amazon has chosen to no longer support, and I am really pleased with it. It's the perfect size for me to hold wherever I read, it has a lovely clear screen that is easy to adapt to your chosen brightness, and I like the clear user interface. It's brilliant that I can borrow digital books from my local library straight onto it too. It's pretty good value for money but unfortunately they chose to raise the price just as I had decided to buy it after a lot of research and thought (and admitting to myself that no, I really do not need a colour e-reader because nothing I choose to read has colour!)

I bought Clara BW because I was not very happy with Libra Colour screen. The screen on Clara BW is much better, more contrasty and crisp, which is expected, because color screen technology is still inferior. The device itself is good, but a 7-inch screen would be better. I hope Kobo will finally listen to their customers and release an updated Libra 2 - basically Libra Colour with BW screen. People all over the internet are asking for it, but I guess it's not gonna happen.

I bought the Kobo Clara BW to replace my old, original model, which still works, but as I am recently retired, I wanted more features as I am expecting to read more. The lighting options are wonderful and I much prefer the on and off button to the old slide button.

I did a lot of research before buying and am so happy with my purchase. This is a reader’s ereader. No ads. Perfect size. Crisp screen. It’s also super quick/responsive. I absolutely love the overdrive/Libby integration. A surprising perk has been the Kobo deal of the day. There’s usually really great books at unbeatable prices.

I love that this e-reader is made from recyclable products and is repairable. Rescuing resources destined for oceans and landfills, then committing to keeping them out of these places in the future by allowing repairs! What a concept that we even have to applaud this notion, but that’s the consumeristic world we live in now, and I applaud that Rakuten truly shows they care in this way. Excellent e-reader with beautiful e-ink screen. I also love that while there is a native kobo library, you are also not restricted to this. Also, I can’t believe I have to say this but compare this to the major competitor e-reader out there when I say there NO ADS on your lock screen. 1000/10

I really love my Clara BW. I got it to replace a 2018 kindle paperwhite, and it is lighter, smaller (but with the same screen dimensions), and quicker. I love reading on it, and have had no real issues with it after ~30 hours of reading/use.

I really like my new Kobo Clara BW. I had a Kindle Paperwhite before and the Kobo is just as easy to use for borrowing ebooks from my local library. However, I had to Google to figure out how to borrow library books - the Overdrive functionality on the device is pretty limited, and it would have been nice for instructions to be included.
