Koru Kids is highly professional and person centred. They think of everything and are always on hand to answer any questions. They take all the admin stress away so we can concentrate on what’s important : the children.

I was a nanny of koru kids for about a month. While minimum wage for under 21 is £10per hour, I still believe £11.85 per hour (what koru kids offers) is rather low. I have since found other jobs in childcare which offer £12.21 as a starting rate which is much more feasible since I live in London. In addition to the low hourly rate, I was paid late due to issues on my employers end. This impacted my cash flow as I had to wait another weeks before receiving payment, despite this being an issue on admin’s end as they should certainly been more prepared for these issues. In addition, the advert that I had responded to from my chosen family stated I would be needed 10hrs per week. However, once I had started my shifts were inconsistent and sporadic and my average week would be 5-8hrs. I’m not sure I’d work through koru kids again - it feels like the customer/families have much more favour in the way this is all set up. Almost like the Nannie’s wellbeing and autonomy isn’t as important or respected.

Koru kids are every busy parents dream. The matching is very intuitive, the platform easy to use and the inbuilt flexibility is exactly what you need. Not respectful of applicants. Asking for references before even reviewing the applications. Sending multiple emails from different people to hurry up a started form.
Said no experience necessary in the title then changed it to a lot of experience necessary. Completely unnecessary! I'm sure they are amazingly charming to the customers

Horrible Company!!! Don't waste your time applying! I had high hopes for this company, but my experience has been incredibly disappointing. I applied despite having limited childcare experience because their site specifically stated that training would be provided for the right candidates. I was hopeful and willing to learn, and I followed all the necessary steps—including providing three references, which were all approved.

To then be rejected without explanation feels like a complete waste of my time and effort. I was genuinely interested in working for your company and was prepared to commit and grow in the role. This experience has been both disappointing and frustrating.

I love the ease of adding my shifts and making my expenses and some of the food recipes are helpful

Koru kids is simply amazing. Super easy, super reliable and the staff members are incredibly friendly and caring. App is easy to use and the hiring process is quick and doesn't cost you. I absolutely love working with koru kids and I 100% recommend it for anyone wanting to start nannying.

I don’t understand how this company has 5-star reviews. I applied despite having little experience in childcare, thinking it was worth a shot. I reached out to a friend and a former employee for references, both of which were approved, yet my application was denied. This was a complete waste of my time, especially since I would have liked to work for this company.

Finding a nanny is a smooth process with Koru Kids - everything is in simple short steps, with clear information to help someone new (like myself) navigate the system.
There is also loads of support from Koru at every stage.

I don’t really understand how the hell they have 5 stars review when the company is literally a shit.i have applied for nanny role twice and it was no experience. I love how company has a positive platform and the process is easy. I really hate the fact that they keep denying my application and they even give me a reason why they won't progress my application. Even if your application and references were approved and successful, they still denied for no reason and won't tell why or not considered a second. I really love this company and do see myself working with them.

Wow this has made our lives easier we have a brilliant nanny. The Koru Kids system is easy to follow and made the daunting task of taking on a Nanny a breeze.

I’ve had a mixed experience with Koru Kids. There are definitely positives, and the platform is thoughtfully built, but ultimately the model hasn’t worked for our family — particularly in terms of consistency and long-term care.

The positives:
Customer service has been genuinely helpful and responsive whenever we've needed support.

The app and platform are excellent — it’s easy to approve hours, manage payments, and Koru Kids takes care of legal aspects like pensions and contracts. That administrative support is a real benefit and removes a lot of hassle.

However, the core issue we’ve faced is continuity of care — or rather, the lack of it.

Before using Koru Kids, we found nannies either through word of mouth or via traditional agencies. While that route can be expensive, it usually resulted in hiring someone who was able and willing to stay in the role for 2+ years — sometimes even longer. Since moving to after-school care and trying Koru Kids, that simply hasn’t been our experience.

Unfortunately, the model seems geared more toward nannies looking for short-term or gap-fill work — not people interested in committing to a family for the long haul. As a result, our experience has felt very stop-start:

Nanny 1: Stayed for 8 months before leaving due to health reasons.

Nanny 2: Lasted just 4 weeks before heading overseas to pursue a teaching opportunity.

during the transition between Nanny 2 and Nanny 3, approx £1,500 in fees was incorrectly debited from our account, due to miscommunication that Nanny 2 was no longer working with us. To Koru Kids’ credit, the error was swiftly resolved and the amount fully reimbursed — which we appreciated — but it added another layer of complexity to what has already been a very choppy experience.

Nanny 3: With us for 6 weeks before needing to take two months off for university.

In all cases, there was no early warning of these potential disruptions, which left us scrambling to fill the gaps. The burden has fallen on us to either fill in the care ourselves or restart the onboarding process all over again — which, frankly, is exhausting.

But above all, it’s been emotionally difficult for our children. They’ve had to repeatedly say goodbye to caregivers they were only just beginning to bond with. One nanny in particular — the one who stayed only four weeks — was brilliant. She could sing like a Disney princess and was amazing at arts and crafts. But when she left so quickly, both of our children were really upset. It just wasn’t worth the emotional toll. That kind of instability may be manageable for adults, but it’s difficult for young children who thrive on consistency and trust.

In summary, while I appreciate the convenience, support, and tech behind Koru Kids, I wouldn’t recommend it for families who need reliable, longer-term childcare. The nannies we’ve met have all been lovely people, but the model itself seems fundamentally unsuited to providing the kind of continuity children really need.
