Decent internet provider

I am generally content with my experiences with KPN. Internet connection is generally stable. Once, when I was still connected via ADSL, a link was broken for a couple of days, but KPN sent me a free 4G modem as a temporary solution.

I have been using ADSL and switched to glass fibre this year.

The worse internet provider is KPN

The worse internet provider is KPN. I live in Almere Buiten, and have contract for 200 Mbps, instead of having it I have on all my devices 70-80 Mbps, and this have happened after they updated their system. This is huge disappointment. For what do I pay so much money for internet when KPN doesn't find solution for their own problems? I will definitely move to another internet provider, I didn't want to use their shitty low speed internet!

Foreigners, do not believe the emigration cancellation waive

I am extremely disappointed with KPN’s handling of my mobile plan cancellation request. I followed the official procedure stated on their website, which allows exemption from the contractual redemption fee in case of permanent departure from the Netherlands. As per their own guidelines, I provided the required employment contract abroad as proof—both at the time of my initial request and in multiple follow-ups.

Despite this, KPN has ignored my request and is attempting to charge me unfairly. Their lack of transparency and failure to honor their own policies is unacceptable. I have made several attempts to resolve this issue, yet they continue to disregard their own terms.

This experience has been frustrating, and I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with KPN. If this issue is not resolved, I will escalate it further.

Incompetent delivery men and customer executives

I ordered a few essentials through the KPN mobile app at 5:31 PM, and the payment went through immediately. After 35 minutes with no delivery, I checked the app, and it showed the payment had failed. However, I refreshed the app and checked my order history it showed the same order was still in the packing status. If I hadn't checked properly I may have repaid the amount or wasted my time calling the customer service to sort it out.

When I called customer service, they kept insisting the delivery would arrive in 10-15 minutes, even though I had a previous bad experience with delayed deliveries. I asked to cancel the order, but the representative wouldn't allow it, claiming it was already out for delivery.

After an hour from the ordering time, the items finally arrived, but the entire experience was frustrating. The app lacks proper tracking and cancellation options, and the delivery executives seemed incompetent. Save your time and money—avoid KPN. Meanwhile, Swiggy could have delivered the same items in 15 minutes with an easy cancellation process.

My TV suddenly showed only one channel

My TV suddenly showed only one channel. Resetting: no change. I spent several hours trying to get human help - I was sent in circles from one web page and answering robot to the next. but never got through to a human, not even a phone number. So I moved to another provider today.

Unsupportive, paid, not working, so irritating..


I bought a Prepaid simcard, (not talking about the overpricing) topped up and bought some bundles (liked the fact that you could make your bundle up as you wished choosing data, minutes and txts separately, still overpriced) .
The bundles failed tò activate (Active but not working) and I have spent three days calling a customer service tò be left down, After I went through 5 agents..
Nobody could provide with a clear answer on why I paid for having nothing..
Well, they also told me tò go tò a kpn shop, thing that I did Just tò find out they cannot help on Prepaid.. Is It not stealing?probably Just because It would have legal consequences. But yes, 16 € spent for receiving voicemail asking me tò top up. So they've gone wasted.
That's NL best network on Google..
It feels like there was a missing part that customer service does not want tò tell me, I found It irritating. Why paying for something if It would not work?

Bad bad service! Stay away

They are a horrific provider as you can never get hold of them when you need assistance!

We left The Netherlands! We have immigrated and told them this way in advance and provided all the right documentation well in advance and they still have not cancelled the contract and they never respond to anything.

However, when we reversed the payment that was meant to be cancelled, then we heard from them! Typical. We even spoke to someone and they told us all was in order and yet they are still sending invoices and asking for payments!

We dont even live in NL anymore. Get your shit together KPN! Very helpful when you sign up, impossible to deal with when you want to cancel. They make it so hard! Bad bad company! Stay away from them!

Oh how I miss Odido

I moved my number from Odido to KPN. Last week Wednesday (26 Feb 2025), within 30 minutes of the sim card becoming active I started having problems with my YouTube music stopping because l had no internet connection. Turned mobile data off and back on again but once again less than 30 minutes later it stopped working. Turned the phone off and back on again but the problem persisted. Later on in the day (I was at work at the time so wasn't doing much more with the phone than listening to music and the occasional WhatsApp message) it turned out that I also have trouble with RABO app, NS app Tiktok, FB Internet browser etc etc etc. The next afternoon when I'd had more than enough I called KPN to try and resolve the issue. After an hour or two on the phone, resetting Internet settings and them trying to convince me that it was my device (which had been working perfectly up until I inserted their sim) they basically said they couldn't resolve it. So I asked about the process of changing back to Odido but was told that unfortunately it was too late as the 'cooling down' period was over (the day after activation) so I'm stuck with this until the 2 year contract is up. It's been 5,5 days with KPN and I feel like throwing my phone at a wall because I can't deal with the frustration. There should be big red warning signs all over the website warning people that they trick you into signing up with them and will then force you to stay with them and keep paying for a service which they cannot / do not provide.

KPN is the worst company for any…

KPN is the worst company for any contracts. Especially for foreigners!!
I had to sign a contract for internet with them and now, despite the options available, I can't get out early.
They said that I have the possibility to cancel the contract earlier because I am moving out of the Netherlands but I have been trying since 4 months now and I still can’t get out of it.
They are super hard to reach out to and they never responded to any of my emails except for automatic answers that never helped with any of my questions.
I deeply advise ANYONE, especially foreigners, go with another company.
I have never in my life had such a terrible experience.
If it were possible I would give 0 stars

Unacceptable Service & Shady Tactics

I've been using KPN at home for at least two years now. It hasn't been perfect but it's been stable.

EVER SINCE they started aggressively pushing us to switch to fiber optic, the wi-fi has suddenly become completely unbearable—SUPER slow speeds and constant interruptions in the connection. It’s really hard not to feel like this is intentional to force customers into an upgrade.

If they truly believe in their fiber service, they should let customers switch by choice, not by making their existing service unusable. Extremely disappointed with this approach.

I feel robbed by KPN

Unbelievable experience—I feel completely robbed by this company. I subscribed to KPN for internet service, but it never worked. I requested a technician to fix the line, and they made me wait five days. When they finally “fixed” it, I was given 1 Mbps instead of the promised 100 Mbps.

I canceled my subscription within the 14-day cooling-off period, yet they still charged me €62.50 for services I never used and are now threatening me with a collection agency.

Extremely Disrespectful Rude Customer service

Extremely poor service.My Internet was not working due to a known issue (to KPN) with the modem but instead of proactively change it, they were expecting the customer to complain. No customer support in English and when i finally managed to submit the issue, I had to follow up myself cause nothing that they communicated happened. They refused to check when my disconnections started, and they didn’t even compensated me for the 10 days I had an open ticket. When I submitted a complaint, a lady named Marga called me and within 10 minutes with her rudeness and complete lack of professionalism made me cancel my subscription and switch to another provider. I’ve never experienced a rudest person in customer facing roles. I explained to her that compensating 10 days is not a solution to my complaint and I asked to speak with her manager. After she declined to do that, she put me on mute, she stated that I didn’t want the compensation for the 10 days and she hanged up. Incredibly disrespectful service. KPN is not for expats and their customer service will make sure you are aware of that. I wish I could give you a negative rating but it’s not possible.

Unfair Charges & No Help from KPN

I’ve been receiving spam calls and never answered them, yet KPN sent me a huge bill claiming I received calls while abroad. Some calls I did receive ended in 1 second, and the numbers KPN charged me for don’t even appear in my call history.

When I contacted KPN, they offered no solution, no spam filtering, and refused to remove the false charges. Instead, they suggested I change my phone number, which is completely unreasonable. I have now reported this to ACM and will escalate further if needed. Extremely disappointing service!
