Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 117 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently express significant disappointment with product quality, noting furniture often feels cheaply made with issues like particle board construction, cracking frames, and cushions that quickly sag or shed fabric. Many also report problems with mechanisms failing, screws falling out, and materials like vinyl peeling or being misrepresented as leather, leading to the perception of overpriced and overrated items. However, some customers noted positive interactions with staff, finding them compassionate, friendly, and knowledgeable, and a few were satisfied with their product's comfort and appearance. Conversely, a small portion of people felt dissatisfied with the service, citing difficulties with repairs, misleading information, and unexpected labor charges for warranty claims.

Totally unsatisfied with couch and…

Totally unsatisfied with couch and loveseat which were very costly. The couch has 3 sections and one metal rim between the cushions collapsed within a year and the loveseats back cushions did not have enough filling so people were literally leaning way back uncomfortably. Several guests have even mentioned how uncomfortable it is. I had a serviceman come to fix these problems and the back of the loveseat is still too soft and flimsy. I was charged for these repairs and refuse to spend another penny on this crap. I tried these pieces out in the showroom and they were nothing like what I received. I have wished ever since that I had gone to Ashley.

Poor quality recliner, poor customer care.

Purchased a La-z-boy recliner and it’s obviously defective from the factory. Had two repair guys come to fix issues with no luck. This has gone on almost two months, still no help. I told La-z-boy I want a refund since this chair can’t be fixed. Still waiting. The customer care department is very very slow in helping you. I won’t buy another Lazboy!

Inferior Quality

I bought loveseat recliner and had it for about 3 weeks and it started pilling. The upholstery is inferior. I called customer service and was told that even though I paid extra for the upholstery protector spray, it does not cover pilling. They claim that it’s made of man made material and that it will pill, all I have to do is buy a pilling remover and it will eventually stop pilling. Very disappointed and will never suggest anyone to buy lazy boy furniture.

La-Z-Boy Meyer Sofa

My husband and I are extremely pleased with our new La-Z-Boy Meyer sofa. While this sounds like a simple statement, the decision was a complicated one! The primary driver for his decision is comfort, and he’s extremely fussy. I’m all about the aesthetics and décor, and we’re both budget conscious. We visited 10 furniture stores before deciding to purchase the Meyer sofa. I appreciate being able to choose our fabric versus the limited choices from various shades of gray or brown available from many of the stores. I also sincerely appreciated the design service available once we decided to purchase from La-Z-Boy. Marilou at the Tualatin store is a talented designer who considers customer input before making helpful design suggestions. Herb, our design and sales consultant, worked patiently with us during our lengthy decision process. Thank you to you both!

Disappointed and Disgusted

In september of 2025, we purchase a Lazboy Loveseat soaf for our anniversary and received it in the first week of October. When I sat in it for a while, I realize there was a difference in comfort then the one at the store. After 15 minutes, we started having back pains, even our legs were uncomfortable. I have bought recliner cushions to sit on top of the sofa which doesn't do any good. I read reviews and discovered other customers were having the same problems with no resolution from Lazboy. We purchased a $2000 sofa that we can't enjoy. Something needs to be done about it.

Who do you trust?

My husband and I went to Freehold La-Z-Boy to buy a wall hugger recliner.
All my husband looked at with the saleswoman were wall huggers. When he found what he liked, he signed the paperwork and bought it. We had not moved yet so the recliner was being held in the warehouse. My husband checked the order one day and saw that it was not a wall hugger. When my husband called to straighten out the error, he was told that we should have read the paperwork before signing. They would do nothing. Does that make sense? We trusted our salesperson. Why would we think that she would bring incorrect paperwork? Wasn't she accountable? Is this good customer service?

HAVE I PURCHASED A ‘LEMON’ ?

I ordered and paid for a recliner in November Still has not arrived. I did not know they were made in CHINA. WISH I’D READ THESE REVIEWS FIRST! BEWARE.

BENDIGO. 21/2/26

Well my chair arrived. 23/3/26. Fabric looks good colour as ordered. Foam filling has already changed shape on foot rest. Watching and waiting. I believe there are better options. Somehow after reading all the reviews I was not excited about its arrival.

Ordered the Emmons Reclining 6'3" Sofa…

Ordered the Emmons Reclining 6'3" Sofa so my feet wouldn't hang over footrest and head would be on the cushion; I'm 6'. What a joke, feet overhang and headrest is at my neck. In addition, the seat cushions are a joke, sink into them and back has no support and is extremely uncomfortable. PLUS the arms squeak whenever I sit or move. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS COMPANY? Supposedly the best, definetly most expensive, AND MADE IN THE USA

Horrible customer service and substandard product

I bought two electric leather rocker recliner chairs from this company based on its reputation as having long-lasting quality products. These chairs came with a "life-time" warranty on parts. So I was shocked to learn, seven years later when one of the chairs broke and the foot rest would not stabilize, that La-Z-Boy would honor replacing the mechanical parts only if we loaded and drove the chairs either to Fort Worth or Austin to be fixed and we would also be charged labor costs. So to drive two to two and one half hours from where we live with the recliner, spend that money on gas, then leave it to be repaired and being charged for the labor costs to repair it, then drive back to get it and bring it back home, simply buying a new chair was a better option for us. We will NEVER enter a La-Z-Boy furniture gallery again and certainly will NEVER purchase another product for them. For those who are not familiar with this company, the chairs are almost double in cost what other retailers both local and chains charge for their similar products and the "life time" warranty on parts is a total joke!

Poor product, poorer service from customer care…

I have owned the lazy boy recliners 4 years. The power recliner quit working last Oct. The co charged me over $400 to replace the plastic parts and 4 months later same problem, power recliner won't elevate the legs. They want to charge me 180 per labor hr to fix it again. Bad product I don't advise paying the extra $ for the Lazy boy brand

NO CALL NO SHOW for delivery. Took the day off, moved furniture, shoveled snow all in preparation for a couch delivery that never happened. Couldn't even be bothered to call/text/email me. Shameful! Never again. 100% preventable and inexcusable!

The Lazyboy Bang

I purchased a custom fabric manual swivel rocker recliner that seemed like a great purchase even though it was about 1800. We we got the chair it made a banging noise when it closed. I called support and a tech came out and said its normal. They call it the lazyboy bang. I was never informed of this nor did it do it in the store. I went back to the store to speak to the salesman. No help. Can lazyboy again. This was there answer
The sound you are hearing is normal and is referred to as the La-Z-Boy “bang.” The noise may seem louder than what you experienced in the store because the chair is placed on a wooden floor, which can amplify the sound.

Total bs. Beware of buying a lazyboy manual recliner. If I knew I would have never purchased it.

I bought a sofa and love seat in January of 2025 within 6 months the fabric started shedding for lack of a better term. Fuzzy's started to appear on the middle cushion that is used the least. Looks like it’s 10 years old. The love seat has a noticeable bump in the one cushion after about a year. It’s only my wife and me and the furniture isn’t used that much. Very disappointed. I will never buy lazy boy again. The last set I had from a different mfg lasted 10 years.

Purchased a "leather" reclining lazy boy sofa for$2969.99 before tax. At staff recommendation purchased Zucora 7 year extended warranty for $259. Sofa cushion peeling between cushions after 4 years. Called Zucora and they tell me this area of sofa is vinyl, so sorry not covered. Called Leons in Barrie Ontario, yup that would be vinyl. Sorry can't help. No where does our billing or information say this is a vinyl and leather sofa. Totally misleading by Leon's staff. Shame on them and totally inferior material by Lazy Boy. Will never never recommend or purchase from them again and definitely do not recommend Zucora Insurance.

La-Z-Boy is the absolute worst company…

La-Z-Boy is the absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with. We bought 2 chairs and a couch for $9500 dollars. The chairs have been popping load since the day we received them. They told me that is how they are supposed to be. They finally picked them up and said they are fixed. They were NOT fixed. I spoke with another lady who was extremely rude. She told me that "me and my wife need to talk more". Very unprofessional! They are going to replace one of the chairs and the other is going back for repair. This has been the worst customer service I have ever seen.

On to the furniture....
The chairs pop and seem very poorly made. The couch we bought cushions are uneven and sink way down when you sit on them and the leather had a bad spot on it. The top grain leather that we paid for had an issue that they finally fixed after a dozen calls and latterly hours one the phone. The couch and chairs both seem to have pour fit and finish. I will not give La-Z-Boy another dime of my money or any other company they own.

La-z-Boy don't care about customer retention

I never thought I would be writing a poor La-Z-Boy review. I always thought they were supposed to be the gold standard. However, their poor business practices are indefensible. We needed a replacement bolt (the one that connects one sectional to another). If you know our model, there is only one possible bolt that would serve this purpose and can't cost more than 10 or 20 cents.

Customer service happily offered to send us the bolt...

After a month or two, we reached out to the Fairfield store to see where our part was, they said we needed to pay $75 for a tech to come out and $125 for labor just to identify the part. They would ship the part later.

After months of back and forth emails (16) and clear descriptions with several clear photographs from various angles and annotations to explain a quintessential piece of hardware that makes their furniture work (no ambiguity left), they still demanded a tech come out, and we cover the cost. I can afford the $200 and have moved on (I rigged up a DIY solution)... But this is a matter of principle and I won't sit silent and put up with businesses that don't have integrity. This approaches Trump-level-shit.

After looping in regional and corporate level slime, it has become clear that short-term revenue from nickel and diming -- would be lifetime customers -- is all a part of the business model. I mean, meeting next quarter's forecast is so much more appealing that long-term customer retention, right?

La-Z-Boy has lost our family's business. I will evangelize this lesson from the highest mount and as loud as I can to all who are willing to listen till the day I die. All for ten cents... and so Taylor Luebke can hit target this quarter.

bought a matching LA-Z-BOY recliner and sofa and got to watch LA-Z-BOY inferior product fall apart.

bought a matching LA-Z-BOY recliner and sofa . Shortly after purchase recliner began to peel. Called LA-Z-BOY we were told sorry material was warrantied for one year so we didn't qualify for warranty work. I asked to speak to her boss was told won't make any difference to whom I speak with...but I insisted. So I was transferred to the next level only to learn she was so right. woman at next level didn't even want to hear my complaint. Told me she has read the transcripts of my first conversation and doesn't see any productive conversations that can be had concerning this complaint sorry and good by. Oh she also told me how unfortunate it was that LA-Z-BOY discontinued the material that was used on our 2 pieces of furniture because that made it impossible to repair even if it was warrantied. My answer to her was it was my belief it was discontinued because they (LA-Z-BOY) knew the material was inferior and more than likely received a good price on it. That's when she hung up on me. My opinion would be for anyone to avoid purchasing anything from LA-Z-BOY their warranties are not backed by the company. And that is a shame
