Ordered Tuesday delivered Friday great job guys Thanks.
Don’t waste your time and money. The logs were delivered about four working days after I ordered them but the pallet had been covered in some kind of paint that they had washed off! So some of the logs were wet. The pallet can’t be used as kindling either. The wrapping had all also been opened and the bag that was delivered looked a little light! The logs are terrible quality… all covered in mud and it looks like they just found them by the side of the road. Some give off a toxic smell when burning them too.. like they were once fence posts or something. They don’t burn well and some won’t burn at all.. I phoned and emailed over a week ago to complain and was promised a call back which I am still waiting for.. my advice go elsewhere!
£270 on two bags of mouldy, sodden off cuts. Majority are not logs, bits of fence posts and fence slats. Will certainly not be usable until next winter if at all some are so mouldy.
Customer service non existent.
Go somewhere else if you can.
My 2nd order - 3 dumpy bags of kiln dried logs. Ordered 4 Jan, arrived 10 Jan. All good, except for fact that 3 dumpy bags arrived on only 2 pallets. I was concerned for the poor driver (Cumbria X-Press) who had to wrestle with an enormous wobbly tower of one bag on top of another; rather top heavy & unstable as descending the tail lift, then he struggled to wheel the load from lorry to my garage, only c. 6 - 8 metres, but very precarious. The top bag nearly fell off several times, & the resulting imbalance meant that the pallet truck would not 'grab' correctly - in the end the driver & I took out half the top bag of logs one by one, & threw them into the back of the garage until the heavy toppling tower was low enough & light enough to be manoeuvrable into my garage.
Driver went above & beyond to deposit in garage, but I don't think Lakeland Logs should have put him in this position. The 3rd bag on the 2nd pallet went in a dream, in a fraction of the time of the first two, being only 1 bag high!
I probably will order from Lakeland logs next time, but would like to think they would give more thought to the poor driver/health & safety/manual handing regs & guidance!
I’m quite new to the log burner world and had logs from 2 previous companies but I was keen to find someone a little closer to home, I wish I hadn’t bothered!
I ordered kiln dried hardwood logs from Lakeland Logs, firstly I requested that the logs be dropped in my front garden (concrete drive) next to my wheelie bin, instead the pallet was dumped right behind my car in my drive and partially on the pavement despite there being ample space to leave them where I requested, by the way the previous 2 companies I dealt with contacted me either by phone or email to let me know when the delivery would be, Lakeland Logs didn’t even bother contacting me, also the other companies left the logs where I requested with no issues.
Secondly, I’ve never seen a poorer quality of log in all my life, the wood is misshapen, some of it is far too long and it’s full of small pieces, plus 1 piece had about 1 inch thick of wood and 1 inch of bark, the wood was filthy, it looked as though it came out a muddy field, if I was displaying these logs next to my burner as you see in brochures it would look embarrassing. I also forgot to mention that some of the wood was spitting quite a lot, now I’m no expert in logs but I do know that softwood spits so I wouldn’t be surprised if softwood has been mixed in with it.
I’d think twice about choosing Lakeland Logs if your looking to buy quality logs for burning, there’s plenty other choice out there.
Terrible service. Firstly, the delivery company rang me at 6.55am to announce they would be arriving in 20 mins. Secondly, when they arrrived, they refused to drive along my lane, despite the fact we regularly have much bigger lorries coming along. Thirdly, when I went indoors to contact the company, the driver just dumped the logs in the lane without asking me if that was OK, and drove off.
When I got to speak to the company's service representative, she said she would liaise with the delivery firm, but never got back to me. I rang again, and she said her manager would call me back - but she never did.
I ended up with a pallet of logs sitting in the lane which I couldn't move, and had to engage assistance elsewhere to move them.
What's more, the logs were supposed to be 9inch - but many of them were actually 10.5inch and so too big for my woodburner.
What a waste of money.
In January they delivered a nice bag of logs, clean good quality, so good I emailed and thanked them. Yeserday they delivered another bag, the quality was pretty poor, quite a lot of small bits of wood and bark that burn through in minutes. When I let them know of my disappointment they more or less called me a liar despite the fact I offered to take photos and send them!!!
The logs not great and awful customer support.

Reply from Lakeland Logs & Charcoal
I specifically added a comment in the order to make sure the courier know I live on the hill. Normally I don't have issues with deliveries (did a garden and had lots of soil bags delivered).
Took a day off especially to get the delivery in and sort it out. However, the incompetent person from Lakeland Logs did not notify the courier about the hill and the delivery failed. I lost a day of holiday costing me £120 as I wasted that day waiting for nothing. When I sent an email to the Lakeland Logs regarding the issue I have been ghosted, not even an apology. I guess mother didn't teach them manners. Terrible experience.
Ordered kiln dried logs, a bag of wet wood arrived. When I tried to return it there was a recorded message saying no one was available on the telephone, when I tried to email them the message bounced back. Not sure if the company has failed or it is simply a rip off.
Update: The vendor has been in contact and offered a full refund, clearly this is a well run company that cares about its reputation. For the record the majority of the wood appears to be good quality at about 20-23% moisture content rather than the 18% advertised, there are a few logs with anything up to 30% though.
