Do not trust Lamar Legal Group

I hired ****** Lamar (Lamar Legal Group) for a restraining order hearing. My soon to be ex wife is attempting to have me removed from my home. I contacted Lamar 12/20/2019. Lamar stated she would not accept a retainer that her fee is $2800 for the hearing. I paid the $2800 on 12/23/2019.After not hearing from Lamar for several days, I sent her a text 01/14/2020 to find out what was going on, Lamar checked the court docket and learned my hearing was set for 01/16/2020. If I would not have called and continued to trust Lamar had things under control. I would have put out of my home for a no show. We met at Lamar's office 01/14/2020 and was told she would file a continuance because she was preparing for another case.01/16/2020, day of the hearing set for 9am. Lamar shows up at 9:34am. I met Lamar in the hall, let her know a trial was in process & hearing will be in another room. We sit down. 9:37am the opposing Attorney came to **, asked me if Lamar was my Attorney & proceeded to chastise 1st asking if she had checked in. Lamar had not checked in and did so at 9:41am. We did get the continuance because Lamar was totally unprepared (right out of her mouth). Lamar had since 12/23/2019 to have at least some preparation. This was totally unacceptable & unprofessional. 01/20/202 I let her know I was not satisfied with her performance and terminated Lamar. I asked for a refund of $2400 since she did at least show up at the court. She refused to return any of the fee I paid. I finally sued her 11/06/2020. Lamar manipulated the system with excuses for not being able to attend hearings. Finally I received a judgement against Lamar 03/05/2025 by Judge *. ******* Prec 4, pl 1.Lamar still will not honor the judgement after me asking to be paid. Lamar was not competent enough to represent herself at court. Lamar brought in another attorney to represent her. Lamar is NOT to be trusted.
