A note about our Trustpilot reviews... Because Languagenut is widely used for school homework, many of the reviews here are written by students immediately after being asked to complete a language assignment. Understandably, not everyone is thrilled about homework! You'll therefore see plenty of tongue-in-cheek, humorous, and occasionally exaggerated reviews that reflect students' feelings about homework rather than the platform itself. Want to see what teachers and schools think? Visit Languagenut.com to learn more about how Languagenut supports language learning in classrooms around the world.

Absolute shocking worse educational website there is most confusing, boring game doesn't work how it should always lags questions are too hard.
Oh lord, how ww1 sounds like heaven compared to the cesspool that is the languagenut.
it was horrible and unhelpful in my French learning
When I was doing language nut i has to do a whole section which took 67 hours and 41 seconds to do. Then i took a goon break. Then, suddenly they nut busted opened my door and took me hostage once i got there they torched me into releasing all my sperm until i down in it. ABSOLUTE CINEMA
this app app is terrible it gives no room for mistakes and it is the worst app i have ever used
It's terrible. Clunky ui, overwhelming task loads, listening exercises are so quiet. As a student it hinders my learing rather than enhancing it. It doesn't register a lot of stuff and overall bad user experience. do not reccomend
This website actually has mad potential for revision..but it’s clearly cut corners on the interface and voices. The buttons are incredibly slow and half the time for me i cant even sign in..it just freezes. The only reason why it’s a two is because it has potential like I said. But in terms of actual experience? No higher then a 1.
THIS WEBSITE IS AWFUL. IT HAS MADE ME CRY ON MULTIPLE OCCATIONS AS IF YOU GET ONE ERROR IT MARKS IT WRONG. THIS APP IS SO AWFUL.
this website is the most frustrating website I've ever had to interact with for my homework. It has French vocab, but no leeway for mistakes or changes in gender. It is slowly driving everyone I know insane and the fact that its the only way to practise listening my school offers if frankly awful. please allow for those using it to make some deviations or typos from the original script of what you are meant to write, because otherwise it means that even good students just lean strategies to get around it such as literally just taking photos then copying it out word for word
Its terrible, It will mark you wrong when the written answer is 1 character off, even 1 missing space after a slash, the AI voices are cheap, awful quality and sound like they regret being used in such a dreadful website, which they probably do. It also lags every other week, making me unable to do homework.
I would have marked it 0.5 or even 0 stars if I could, they should even let it go into the negatives considering how bad Languagenut is, the amount of errors that I have had from this website is unacceptable.
Message to all schools, don't use this website unless you want to ruin the languages experience for all your students. I am a student writing this now so I would know.
There are many aspects of this website that frustrate me to no end from my experience with their French course.
Firstly, the UI. It is horrendously slow to do my homework, the design of the UI is just objectively really bad, it's laggy and it doesn't work well - the buttons don't integrate well into the app at ALL. Secondly, the way you learn. As a Year 10 student that's sitting my GCSE in a year (at the time of writing), this website does NOT teach me well at all - it doesn't help me reinforce what I learn in lessons, it berates you for missing an accent even though for the writing, it isn't required - you can know the words that will get you the grades, but this site will still condemn you for not knowing whether its the e accent with the 'ay' or 'uh' sound.
As well as this, sometimes either the French word doesn't match the correct English word, and vice versa - and sometimes, the word isn't even there?!?! I HAVE TO ENTER SOMETHING BLANK TO GET THE ANSWER RIGHT, OR THE QUESTION IS BLANK - not only can this site not teach, it's teaching the WRONG. CONTENT.
However, for homework, I would say that only the reading and listening have any benefit (unless the word is blank, of course)
On the other hand, if you're looking for something that will genuinely help aid revision, memrise is by FAR your best choice - you're highly likely to find your specific spec on there, I wish my school continued using it.
I have a lot more to complain about, but ironically, I need to do my homework set on Languagenut to avoid detention. More torture? Touche.
it is bad i got sussy like an imposter among us big chungus city boy khaby lame mechanism in ohio and it made my great grandma jump down the stairs covered in ohio mustard
WHY. JUST WHY.
This website is so unbelievably laggy and it takes 2 minutes to even notice that i have clicked the answer. Like broski, how do you not fix that easily, and why are all the assignments THE SAME THING EVERYTIME????
please fix this then i will consider using it again. Thanks guys. Im going to do my mathspad instead
Dear Diary,
Today I ventured into the realm of nut busting —not with a map, not with armor, but with a mouth full of half-formed thoughts and a head buzzing with meaning. Language is supposed to be a home, they say. A bridge. A tool. But today it felt more like a wilderness that bites back.
Every word I tried to use seemed to turn on me. Some were too sharp, cutting the thought before it could finish breathing. Others were too dull, bludgeoning meaning into something unrecognizable. Grammar rules loomed like invisible tripwires—step wrong and suddenly I was apologizing, explaining, shrinking. Even silence felt dangerous, as if not speaking was its own kind of mistake. too the point where my framerate jumped out my screen and tried to slit my throat.
There are predators here: jhon is one of them misunderstandings that stalk tone, assumptions that leap without warning, and the constant threat of being taken the wrong way. I watched simple sentences get misread, intentions twisted by a single misplaced word. It was as if I was in a cage being poked with a long stick, In this terrain, clarity is rare water, and confidence feels like a luxury item.
And yet, despite the hostility, I kept going. Because buried under the noise, the rules, and the fear of error, there are moments where language opens up. A sentence lands exactly right. A metaphor builds a shelter. Someone understands. In those moments, the environment softens—not safe, but survivable.
Maybe that’s the truth of it, Diary: language isn’t hostile because it hates us. It’s hostile because it’s alive—shifting, crowded with histories, shaped by everyone who’s ever used it badly or beautifully. To explore it is to risk getting hurt, and thats the onluy option, im not gonna sit here listening to a women struggle to pronounce french words at the speed of a snail.
I’m tired from the journey today. Tongue bruised. Thoughts muddy. But I’ll go back in tomorrow. I always do. I hope I do.. if you don’t hear of me tomorrow, they have me, the lovely people from language nut, have taken my nuts and nailed them to my backside, because quite frankly if I do another homework on that god forsaken website, I will do it myself
— Me and my nuts
Every task I wait for the next question, it's really slow, it says I messed up for not putting "la fille" even though that's "the daughter/girl" and it asks for "daughter/girl". Overall I do NOT recommend this at all.
i would rather eat a mouldy piece of bread
Every time I attempt to do my Spanish homework, I will check the words, practice and then do the assignment. However, when I try and submit words eg. Meat-carne, it will say I'm wrong maybe because I didn't put la in it. This frustrates me as I like to do my homework to 100 percent, and having this much character sensitivity makes it extremely annoying.
