Languagenut is a great platform for students of all levels. There is variety and the themes link well to the curriculum. Students from Yrs 7-12 find it beneficial for end of term revision and before tests. All macro skills can be applied and the exam strategies are also a great feature

Languagenut provide an excellent service. The platform is easy to navigate. It motivates the pupils and engages them in their learning of languages.
The customer service is also outstanding. I highly recommend trying it out!

I genuinely believe your organisation goes above and beyond to make teachers’ lives easier. The thought put into the user experience, along with how straightforward it is to assign work, really sets your platform apart. I’m also a big fan of the printables – they’re an excellent solution for learners without access. The tracking features are intuitive and efficient, and I truly appreciate the inclusion of Welsh as a language option. I actually completed my master’s research (2024) using the Languagenut platform, focusing specifically on vocabulary learning, and found a significant positive correlation between homework completion and in classroom vocabulary test scores. This naturally then fed into assessments.
What particularly impressed me was the response time whenever I had an issue or query – the support has always been quick and helpful. The platform’s mobile and tablet-friendly design also makes it far more accessible for learners working from home.

Languagenut is simply IN-CRED-I-BLE. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this program. And, more importantly, so do my students. It is simply brilliant. Wonderful, amazing, incredible for its scope and depth. I have been teaching for 46 years, and Languagenut is simply the best resource I have found. I regularly use about fifteen different programs to work on skill development, but if I had to keep just one, it would be Languagenut as it is so complete and is continually evolving, improving, developing in imaginative ways; I love this rare characteristic. You do not rest on your laurels.
Languagenut fills a huge void in addressing the need for students to practice each of the four skills – reading, writing, listening, and speaking – and at more than one challenge level. It also targets specifically pairs of sounds my students find confusing. The addition of the verb practices --Verb Matcher, Jigsaw and Verb Pod – help students learn how to conjugate without stressing them out by spelling alone. I love the Exam Skills section because it helps me benchmark my students’ progress against the expected level.
The site is organized logically and intuitively, with a top tool bar and the buttons on the left side of the page. Languagenut offers a statistical analysis of skills for the class (level) and individual students. It really helps me pinpoint where students are succeeding and where they need to improve.
Not only is there a huge amount of readily available content on a wide variety of topics, but teachers can add their own customized content quite easily. I have a digital textbook for two of my courses, and I regularly add my book’s vocabulary list to My Content which allows the students to enjoy Languagenut and their digital book content.
Languagenut has the most amazing games. I always evaluate everything I use, and I get caught up playing the games for hours myself. The games are super engaging and inventive: Phonics (Catapult, Concert, Guac-a-mole, Imposter, Penguin), sentence chunks (Forklift, Forklift Listening, Ocean Cleaner, Race Driver) and complete sentences (Dictation, Fridge Magnets). I use this section as a warm-up as well as a reward. The listening exercises feature a variety of voices, of different sexes, and the little snail button that allows students to slow the recording down makes them INCREDIBLY happy.
I just saw that you added a curriculum builder which I plan to explore during my upcoming break. I anticipate this tool will be very helpful in planning out, checking to make sure that I hit all the learning standards for each level.
I am looking forward to seeing how Languagenut continues to evolve. I have been using it for 4 years with my students; it continues to impress me.

Languagenut is so bad bro you literally have to sit there and do random language questions which sometimes gives you questions that you havent covered in class!

Clunky, slow to respond, no margin of error allowed, overall fail, cheaply made and maintained, do NOT invest in this.

Language nut does not help me learn a language at all. I spent half a year and learnt nothing but if i spend 5 minutes on something rated the same or some other worse rated website and i will still have at least learnt the basics.

I recently used LanguageNut to try to learn a new language, and honestly, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience from start to finish. While I had hoped for an engaging and effective platform, what I found instead was a website that feels outdated, repetitive, and poorly designed for actual language learning.

The first thing that stood out to me was how clunky and old-fashioned the website looks. In comparison to other modern learning platforms, LanguageNut feels like it hasn’t been updated in years. The layout is confusing at times, and it’s not always clear where to go next or how to track your progress. Instead of feeling motivated to explore lessons, I often felt annoyed just trying to navigate the site.

The lessons themselves are not much better. Most of the activities revolve around simple matching exercises, repeating vocabulary, or clicking through very basic tasks. At first, I thought this might just be an introduction, but it quickly became clear that this is the core of the platform. There’s very little depth, and I didn’t feel like I was actually learning how to use the language in real situations. It felt more like memorizing random words than building real skills.

Another major issue is the lack of speaking practice. LanguageNut barely gives you any opportunity to actually speak the language, which is one of the most important parts of learning. Even the listening exercises are limited and often sound unnatural. The audio doesn’t always feel like it’s coming from real native speakers, which makes it harder to learn proper pronunciation and rhythm.

I also found that the platform doesn’t adapt to your level at all. Whether you’re a complete beginner or someone with some experience, you’re basically pushed through the same type of content. This made the experience feel either too easy or not helpful, depending on the lesson. A good language platform should adjust to the learner, but LanguageNut just doesn’t do that.

Another thing that bothered me was how boring it became after a short time. There’s very little motivation to keep going. The site doesn’t do much to reward progress or keep you engaged, and the repetition quickly becomes tedious. Instead of feeling encouraged, I found myself losing interest and wanting to stop using it altogether.

On top of that, the explanations for grammar are very weak. If you actually want to understand how the language works, you’ll probably need to look elsewhere. LanguageNut doesn’t go into enough detail, and it often feels like you’re just expected to memorize things without understanding them.

Overall, I would not recommend LanguageNut to anyone who is serious about learning a language. It might be okay for very basic exposure or for younger students in a classroom setting, but even then, there are much better options available. For me, it felt like a waste of time, and I didn’t come away feeling more confident or capable in the language I was trying to learn.

In conclusion, LanguageNut is a disappointing platform that fails to deliver an effective or engaging learning experience. Between its outdated design, repetitive exercises, lack of speaking practice, and overall lack of depth, it simply doesn’t meet the standards of modern language learning tools. I would strongly suggest looking for alternatives that offer a more interactive, adaptive, and meaningful approach.

The worst. The questions make me feel like I'm doing algebra. This isn't helping my education, it's making it more stressful and it makes me want to die. Someone please explain why we need this, it's a waste of my time when I get home, and I would rather do sparx maths for 3 hours than say 'I prefer history because it is interesting' in French.

Worst platform I've ever seen. My friend literally goes to therapy due to Languagenut. I could code a better software, and I'm a teenaged game developer with 1.5 months of experience under my belt. Best suggestion to students: take a screenshot of the words and split screen. Best suggestion for teachers using it: Hope you end up in heaven with all your might. You'd be more likely to win the lottery, though.

As a teacher, I find it very frustrating when my students' learning tool does not work properly. First of all, the website is very slow/laggy and hard to navigate because everything takes 10 seconds to load even though the website is incredibly basic. Also, the grading is very stubborn and does not allow leniency whatsoever. If a student simply misplaces an accent or types a synonym to the word the website wants, It is automatically wrong and will force you to re-take the whole quiz again to try the question again. While doing the quizzes, there is a 10 second delay after you answer the question until it moves on to the next website which is not ideal for a fast-paced learning environment.
Overall, would not recommend if you want your student to learn how to form sentences and concepts because Languagenut is mostly focused on select vocabulary and verbs in the infinitive rather than asking student to answer a prompt or think creatively.

A shockingly made website.
Everything about it enrages the deep hell fires in my heart. Usually I'm quite a placid individual but even just opening this god forsaken website ignites a darkness I didn't know existed within me.
Where to start, the design is atrocious, from a graphic point of view it looks like a 3 year old designed it, it's not very good at actually teaching you a language, it's much better and making you regret even choosing to learn something new for once.
LanguageNut, unlike Linguiscope or Language Gym, makes me pity those who were evidently enslaved into making it by some evil dictator. It's ridiculous how literally every other website on the internet is better than Languagenut.
I advise to all reading this to heed my warnings and never set foot upon the flea ridden back of LanguageNut.
As with most of my reviews of awful websites (this one being the bloody Magnum Opus of them all) I like to end on a lighter note; a poem for those of us whose intelligence exceeds that of an ape:

I don’t know what ancient curse powers Language Nut, but I’m convinced the app is held together by three lines of code, a paperclip, and pure spite. Every time I open it, it feels like the app wakes up and chooses violence.

The activities repeat so much I started questioning reality. I’d finish an exercise, blink, and suddenly I’m doing the exact same one again like I’m trapped in some budget version of Groundhog Day. At this point, I’m fluent in rage, not any actual language.

The audio? Oh, the audio. It sounds like someone recorded it through a potato that was also underwater. Half the pronunciations are so robotic I’m pretty sure I accidentally learned how to speak fluent toaster.

And don’t get me started on the glitches. I’d put in the correct answer, and the app would basically go, “Haha, no.” It’s like being gaslit by a dictionary.

Progress tracking is a joke. It shows numbers, but they might as well be lottery results because they have absolutely nothing to do with what I’ve done. I could complete 20 lessons and the app still acts like I’ve accomplished the grand total of nothing.

Customer support? I’ve had more meaningful conversations with loading screens. I send a message, and it feels like it gets launched into orbit. Maybe one day it’ll return with a reply. Maybe not. Who knows.

In short: Language Nut is the linguistic equivalent of stepping on a Lego. Repeatedly. With enthusiasm.
