Takes some time

I decided to write a review of my experience incase it’s beneficial for information purposes someone out there waiting for their mail because I felt like I would’ve benefited a lot and have more realistic expectations from reading certain experiences so hopefully this can do the same.

My package was a registered document (passport to be exact) sent through La poste (colissimo) from France to Denmark by a family member. It has a tracking number that starts with LJ.

My final take is that the whole experience was a roller coaster and took obsessions of checking for updates and the reviews made me nervous but things just took time. So: package took 10 days to come, which isn’t so bad. I usually experience 2-5 days within EU but 10 is much better than a month. I think for me as soon as it left France and arrived in Denmark - I just expected it to go smoothly from there, which it did. Packages mostly get delivered within 1-2 days in Denmark so I wasn’t too worried so I guess the last remaining days will really depend on your country.

Use an external tracking site because La poste will most likely not update anymore once package has left France.

Here is my timeline and experience in detail:

Day 1: sent to the post office in the morning (on the tracking up: votre envoi est trie sur sa platforme de depart)
Day 3:
late in the evening: Votre envoi est en transit sur nos plateformes logistiques. (package is in transit at the logistics platform)
Updated 3 hours later: Votre envoi est prêt à partir de son territoire d’expédition. Il va être remis au transporteur pour son acheminement. (package was ready to leave France)

And from that day on until today, they no longer updated the system. I checked everyday because I was anxious about the reviews and was a bit nervous about my passport since it’s a pretty important document. Though after doing some research, the system not updating seemed to be normal once your package has left France so you won’t really know anything anymore. It just became a waiting game for me.

Their expected delivery from France to Denmark on their online calculator I believe was 5 days so I checked daily for updates on the La poste app using the tracking number I received from the receipt. As I said, there was never an update so …
On day 5 > I decided to try external system by looking for a random site that tracks packages. I used aftership.com and it allowed me to get email updates if there was any but again… no updates. That site was just basically only picking up La postes system.

Day 9> I gave another tracking website (parcelapp.com) a chance to see if they had more information and sure enough I was able to see new updates from one of our local carriers (PostNord) meanwhile La poste system still hasn’t updated at all since the day my package left France.

The newest update on day 9 from the tracking site was: The shipment item has arrived at the country of destination.
Then it was shortly under transportation to the international distribution center

I thought that for sure they’d have to scan the package when it arrives here and I’d somehow get a new tracking number from the local carrier that will deliver the package to my home somehow and it may show up on La poste system but again that just hasn’t happened.
so I thought that maybe they’d use the same tracking number but because I had no update… I had no idea which carrier is going to deliver the package to my home so I decided that if they’d most likely scan it, then it has to show up somewhere in their tracking system and luckily the site that I used picked that up so I advise you to do the same.

Day 10: package was transported to the distribution in charge of the island that my side of the city is part of in Denmark.
Then 6 hours later, transported to the local distribution center in my city
And 2 hours later was delivered in my mailbox.

What La Poste lacks as a postal company…

What La Poste lacks as a postal company is professional ethics. The delivery person didn’t even ring the doorbell but just left a notice in the mailbox and left. Then, on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, the post office is closed, so you have to wait until Tuesday to pick up the package. Also, the text message doesn't specify which pickup point to go to.

Sent a letter by priority international…

Sent a letter by priority international tracked post from France to England. Cost 7 euros. A week later it has not arrived and the tracking information has not been updated for 4 days!
If you follow the steps online to make a complaint about non delivery, it demands a company registration number. If you don't have one it won't let you continue!!! Honteuse! Quelle bordel!!

Attempted theft

I sent a bridesmaid dress to my daughter in Paris. It was tracked, a gift and given a value for insurance purposes. It got to the centre of Paris but was then stopped because it had an incorrect address and could not be delivered. It was not sent back to me. My daughter was offered compensation.
There was nothing wrong with the address! This was an attemped theft.!
My daughter was in tears on the phone to La Poste . Someone 'found ' it ! And delivered it . Nearly a month later !
I am instigating criminal proceedings against this service.

Incompetent staffs and no support, no insurance

The quote from the La Poste official website.

"The Post Office is responsible for drawing up the customs declaration, a mandatory document to allow the import of the goods and the distribution of the shipment to its recipient. It also advances the payment of duties and taxes to the French customs administration on behalf of the recipient."

I tried to send parcels abroad and the staff didn't give me any documents or explanation about tax and my percels went back to France after I paid for more than 100€ for shipping and insurance. I can't reach international customer support or domestic support number, I've been calling for a week. I don't get any response and my parcels will get disposed of. I just can't believe what just happend. I mean what kind of post office staffs in the world don't give tax regulations to their customers? My French acquaintance went to the office but the staff just snet me the link, when it's all their fault. Again I just can't believe what happened.

An experience with LaPoste

Since I am new in France, I buy most of my stuff online and delivered through LaPoste. LaPoste marked my parcel as delivered when it has not been delivered. I went to their agency to verify, and they say it’s in my mailbox. The joke is that I do not own a mailbox. Stupidly I place three other others which all came through LaPoste and I have not seen any of them. It said delivered when it has not been delivered.
Then they ask me to make a complain and when I did the response was that I should report to the police that my parcel was stolen from my mailbox. How? When I do not own a mailbox. In my building they are some mailboxes that belong to other people with their names on it. I am recent with no mailbox. It is such a terrible experience with LaPoste.

I got two (2) of my parcels after some delay and a refund (not what I wanted though) for the missing parcel.

For this company to improve they have to honestly take clients complains seriously and bring them face to face with the postman who made the delivery. And go with client and investigate if a mailbox exist or not.
I hope they can give clients the option to choose to pick up their parcels themselves at LaPoste colis. This will help a lot for those without mailboxes and do not communicate well in French.

Cannot buy stamps online anymore

Cannot buy stamps online anymore, lots of other customers with same experience and one feels La Poste doesn't care! Other aspects of their IT is pretty rubbish as it's also difficult to login to one's account as passwords etc not recognised! Pretty poor for an national provider such as this!

Delayed Passport for Visa Application

My girlfriend is currently living in France with her family. We’ve spent a lot of time and money going through the UK visa process for her. She had to send her passport to Germany to finish it, and has 28 days to do so. Her local post office said it would take 6 days. 22 DAYS LATER AND IT’S ONLY BEING PROCESSED AT THE LOCAL DISTRIBUTION SITE.

The post office workers said it was already at the German border, but it just wasn’t scanned. They lied about the timeframe. They lied about it being ready to leave the country. What next? It’s damaged? Lost?

Because of the lies and laziness, La Poste may have just ruined a visa application, resulting in losses over €4,000.

Edit: The passport has just been returned to my girlfriend. It was never sent out at all. The French postal service is a complete joke.

Colissimo not picked up

I sold an item on vinted, they requested Colissimo, I opted for it to be taken by 'la poste' from my post box, I put the package in my post box on Monday night and it's still there!!! ( Wednesday)
Have phoned them but all you get is some stupid 'virtual' dickhed who cannot help!
What has this world come to when one cannot pick up the phone and speak to a human?!

Poor service. shocking web site

I ordered a bare root rose for our house in France and the grower scheduled delivery for a specific date. I arranged for the gardener to go along the next day to plant it. La Poste were delayed by a day so I had to re-arrange things with the gardener.
La Poste didn't leave the parcel as instructed on the label. The postman didn't phone me, even though I had taken the trouble to enter my number in my Espace Client.
In my Espace all I can do is reschedule delivery for the next day, hoping that the rose will survive. I canont add instructions about leaving the parcel, how to find the house, or give them the gardener's number. With their online help you just end up going round in circles. I did stumble across a phone number for international calls but "I'm sorry, this number is busy," probably until the end of time.
I will never again use a business that uses La Paste for deliveries.
Further to above, La P attempted delivery today (3rd Feb) but again didn't leave the parcel as instructed. There was no phone call and the tracking says that "Ill va être acheminé vers votre point de retrait" but with no information about where my collection point is or even how to find out where it is.

A Legitimized Scam company

They accepted my delivery, since they are partnered with NaconGaming The issue is that my address is valid, but they wait till the day it should have arrived to actually announce they "believe" it's invalid, with logs showing:

22/01/2024

22/01/2024
Votre Colissimo va bientôt nous être confié ! Il est en cours de préparation chez votre expéditeur

They do not understand that validation is a process you conduct before you use or execute your resources. They never even called the number on the delivery to try get the right address

I call their number at +448081010970, and am left on hold for 11 minutes with no answer, always being told "Only a few moments". I then go to their web page at https://wwwDOTcolissimoDOTentrepriseDOTlaposteDOTfr/en/en/contact

And guess what, it doesn't exist anymore, they have no contact section

I will never use any company that partners with "La Poste" or their child company Colissimo (colissimoDOTentrepriseDOTlaposteDOTfr)

They have no professional etiquette at all! None! Whether it's web, phone, a simple delivery, None!

I got nothing but scamming

Don't buy on laposte.fr !!!

On Jan 2 2024 I bought an agenda on the Laposte.fr site and I was supposed to get it within 4 days. After 17 days still nothing so I try to contact them with incredible struggling to find a number to call. Once found I start getting bounced back and forth from one number to the other and at the end the reply I get is that they are surprised that I bought the product on their site as they are not used to sell agendas.
Pretty weird given that I have screenshots and even mail coming from them confirming the purchase and the payment procedure.
Is this a scam? I don't know but for sure it is a CRAP service.
11 euros lost. I won't get any poorer but this is not how a serious company should work.
Never again.
