Since 1966 the LD Mountain Centre has equipped people who love the outdoors, to travel safely and comfortably in the mountains. The name LD Mountain Centre derives from the surname initials of Peter Lockie and Gordon Davison who founded the business in 1966.
At LD Mountain Centre we pride ourselves on being one of the best independent outdoor stores in the UK. Over the years, we have supplied expeditions from pioneering ascents, led by Sir Chris Bonnington and the UK`s top Himalayan summiteer, Alan Hinkes OBE, to Duke of Edinburgh Award schemes and of course, those of us who simply love to escape the hustle and bustle at the weekend.
With the Berghaus heritage and the reputation of LD Mountain Centre, we attract some of the best and most knowledgeable outdoor staff, all of whom, gain their knowledge and experience first-hand by getting out and using the kit, whether that's on skis, board, foot, bike or the end of a rope. All this means that here at LD Mountain Centre we can help and advise you so that you make the right choices for your outdoor clothing and equipment.

Happy Feet
Ordered Rab down hut slippers, size 8, fig green, as they were a good price compared to other sellers. Ordering process straight forward, delivery prompt and slippers fitted perfectly. Now have happy feet.

I ordered a Gortex jacket, gloves and water bladder late on a Friday night and needed them the following Tuesday. After placing the order I realised I had mistakenly ticked to collect them in store which was a disaster as I live in London. I called the store the next day and they relayed the issue to the warehouse. The warehouse sent my items promptly on Monday and I received the parcel the next morning. All the items are fantastic and the Arc'teryx Beta Jacket in particular was excellent value. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. I'm surprised by the negative reviews on Google because I've been thoroughly impressed and wouldn't hesitate to buy from LD Mountain Centre again.

Overall: satisfied
The ordering process was straightforward and delivery was within the specified time limits. The price was also very competitive. I have not worn the jacket I purchased yet (I bought it for winter), so cannot comment on it now, although when I unpacked it, there was a slight odour of Mold.....I presume this was the result of where the parcel was stored. Hopefully once the garment is aired, the smell will dissipate.
