Paid $500 for them to handle the hassle / any 'is this still available' types to get rid of my car.
In the 3 months I had my car up, not a single offer. Also no real proactive work by the person responsible for my car. I listed it on fbook marketplace and kijiji and had a few dealers call within a day or two.
I thought I was saving myself time since I was also moving and b busy. Turns out it was my headache anyway, and I spent $500 for nothing.
They're polite and nice - just totally pointless and not proactive.
Great service worth every penny i paid
Great service worth every penny i paid. I had few months left on car lease and never thought i would be able to find someone to take over. They did it for me and in 3 weeks my car gone right on time and exactly like they told me. Micheal did and amzing follow up. I highly recommend lease busters.
Terrible Experience
LeaseBusters was recommended by the dealership where I initially leased my car so I assumed this company was reputable and safe. Unfortunately, I was very wrong. I dealt with "Michael" who seemed to want to just rush through the details and wanted the $399+ payment. I made the mistake of going forward with the listing. I was told my car would sell quickly. I hung up the phone and never heard from anyone at LeaseBusters again for almost two months. I also put a Facebook Marketplace ad up at the same time to try to reach as many people as possible. I got more enquiries from Facebook than from LeaseBusters. I got an enquiry from Facebook one night from a guy saying he saw my listing on LeasBusters and was interested and tried to answer that listing for more information. He said he left phone messages and emails and never heard back at all from anyone at LeaseBusters. I immediately contacted them and was told "Michael" was on vacation. I asked why no other staff was checking my account for enquiries? Total failure on their part. Terrible business practices and absolutely no customer service. They take your money and that's it. Never use this company it is a joke and a scam. STAY CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS.
If you're considering using LeaseBusters, let me save you the time (and a few hundred bucks): don’t.
I’ve used them before, but my most recent experience — transferring the lease on my Ford F-150 — was the last straw. For a company that charges fees on both ends of a deal, you’d think they’d actually offer something useful. Nope. All they really provide is a glorified vehicle listing. That’s it. No hands-on help, no meaningful guidance — just a middleman skimming fees from both sides.
What really set me off was being blatantly misled by one of their agents, who tried to push me into accepting a $1,200 lease transfer fee — nearly double the standard rate at most dealerships. When I called them out later, they tried to spin it as being “in my best interest.” Mhmm. I strongly suspect the rep was getting some kind of kickback and had every reason to push the inflated fee. And if that’s not the case, then LeaseBusters is doing a better job protecting their “dealer network” than the customers actually paying them. The worst part? My buyer and I did most of the legwork ourselves — while LeaseBusters sat on the sidelines and still claimed credit for the outcome.
Customer service? Practically nonexistent. Communication was slow and unhelpful, and I had to follow up multiple times just to get basic responses. When I raised concerns, no one took responsibility — just a lot of excuses and deflection, with no attempt at a fair resolution.
If you’re thinking of using LeaseBusters, don’t be fooled by the polished pitch. You’re paying for very little, and you may end up feeling manipulated and ripped off — or worse, not even realize it. Honestly, you'd get more value (and fewer headaches) listing your car on Kijiji or Marketplace. Hell, even a telephone pole with a piece of tape. At least that doesn’t come with added condescension and unnecessary fees.
Disappointing Experience with Leasebusters.com
I recently used LeaseBusters.com to transfer my lease, and unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. The initial evaluation process seemed promising, as I was assured that my vehicle was eligible and within market value. However, after paying the $300+ fee, the company provided little to no additional support.
Despite my attempts to inquire about strategies to increase interest in my lease, the only solution consistently offered was to raise the cash incentive.
While the company does post listings and respond to emails, their services fall far short of what I expected. For the price, I would highly recommend exploring free alternatives like social media groups or specialized lease transfer boards. My experience was that these platforms generated more traffic and considerably more interest.
Disappointing
Paid $299 and I only had 1 offer that was not a real offer in 3 weeks time. After posting on facebook marketplace, I had 5 offers in 3 days.

Waste of time and money if you are looking to get out of a lease
They tell you they do a market eval on your lease. They tell you that your pricing is good. Then they take your money and disappear. Randy was my guy and had a couple of people interested and then when I would get back to him he'd be on vacation. I wasted 5 extra months holding the lease ($3000+ in payments) when I could have handed the car back to the dealership and cut them a cheque for $1800 and been done with it. Which I ended up doing.

I used to love this website, but it's not worth browsing anymore.. Misleading Practices and Poor Customer Service - Avoid Leasebusters!
My experience with Leasebuster was not as positive as I had hoped. When my partner and I came across a listing for a 2021 BMW X1 with a set of snow tires, we contacted Mr. Andy Kapadoukakis, the Commercial Manager of the captioned vehicle, to inquire about the car. Unfortunately, our initial interaction was not very pleasant, as he immediately asked for a non-refundable commission of $300 + tax before he would move anything forward, including seeing the car. I don’t know others, but we didn’t feel comfortable with this “policy”…quote and unquote.
After taking some time to think about it, we decided to proceed because we thought the deal was workable. Then we asked about the lease transfer fee. Andy informed us that we could negotiate this directly with the seller. Once we paid the $300 fee, we received the seller's information and were left to communicate with them on our own. It was then that we discovered some misleading information from Leasebuster and/or Andy:
The snow tires were not included in the transfer, contrary to what was stated in the listing.
The seller informed us that they had told Andy the buyer was responsible for 100% of the transfer fee, which was non-negotiable. When we tried to review the listing again the same night, the post was already taken down. We’ve been explained that once the buyer had a prospect who paid the commission the post would be pulled down to eliminate competition with other prospective buyer. We have some reservation with this explanation because if we were the seller we would think that it’s not fair because no deal had been made…not even an offer…why taking the post down?? The site could have stated ‘deal pending’ or something on the post (as some representatives do) instead of taking it down completely to eliminate other the opportunities to the seller.
Feeling misled and frustrated, we reached out to Andy to understand why this had happened and why we were charged the $300 fee without much support but instead had to deal with the discrepancies and confusions. In his initial response, he mentioned a refund of the $300, but subsequent attempts to follow up with him were met with silence.
In the end, we had to complete the transfer with the seller, incurring additional costs of $800 for the snow tires and $1500 for the transfer fee. It was a disappointing experience overall, and I would caution BOTH sellers and buyers against dealing with Leasebuster.
It's puzzling to see that there are five-star reviews for Leasebuster, considering the issues we encountered. I have all the email correspondence if anyone wants to see the details. I hope that Leasebuster can improve its communication and transparency in the future to avoid similar situations for other potential customers.
Its too bad
Its too bad, this site use to be good. I bought a mustang convertible her once and it was a good experience. I've been surfing it for an hour now and it seems nearly all the offers are people who want out of their very poor lease decisions and they're hoping you will make a similar one, lol. That or its dealers who bought cars and are trying to sell them at even higher rates than any of the dealerships. Many of the exact same car with exact same terms. they have 1000 km on them and allow the typical 20 km a year lease options only cars that dealerships sell for 350 month, these guys want 4 plus.
100 % Satisfaction
About three weeks ago, I contacted Lease Busters, and spoke with Cheryl about wanting to find someone to take over my lease. From the get go, she was patient with me, explained about the program, and lo and behold a week later, she called me to say she had found somebody interested in taking over my lease. Having never dealt with the company, I admit to being a little nervous, but Cheryl assured me I would be okay, and not to worry. This morning I completed the official transfer and can say that this company, including Cheryl receive 5 stars with me. I will not hesitate to refer my friends and family to Lease Busters. Pay 300$ before you even see the car!
I liked a car on leasebusters and I'm asking the seller (who seems to be a lease buster employee!) to see it and he asked me to pay LB 300$ first? I didn't see such a thing in the site rules and I checked their lease checklist!
I chatted with an agent to confirm if this is a legit request and he said yes, there's a buyer fee that must be paid to lease busters first before he can see the car.

It's a scam! Charging $300 to just list the vehicle on their website, all the attention and smooth talking disappeared after paying the listing fee. Save your money and list your vehicle with Auto trader or Kijiji and pay the $50 for making it a top Ad, you will get more interest from genuine buyers. Leasebusters works only when you don't want top dollar for your vehicle and ready to sell it to dealers for $5K less. Also, your listing agent takes over the Ad and you don't have direct access to your own listing. Buyers speak to Leasebusters agent not the owners directly. What a mess!
Could not close the deal with the seller
Made a deposit and after spending 24 hours of my time, they couldn't even secure the transfer. Will not recommend them to anyone I know. Instead of asking for deposit, they should first should make sure they can close the deal

I saw a lot of negative feedback regarding LeaseBusters but still decided to go with it. I sold my car in 24 hours and for me, that's worth every penny. You can't think of them as an agent, but what you need to understand, especially now in these Covid times, even dealers look at this site to get the best cars possible. My car was bought by an actual dealer, they got me out of my lease and gave me money on top of it. I might have gotten a little more from a private sale, but for me, I wasn't gonna keep the car after the lease anyway, so getting money extra instead of just giving my keys back was already good for me.
