Jarnac/Jarnac for 7 nights was perfect. The staff at the Jarnac location are amazing!!! Customer service abounds and they are so friendly and welcoming. The boat was in perfect condition and spotless. We ended up spending a few nights in Saintes and doing day trips to La Rochelle and Royan. The train station is an easy walk and the trains go everywhere in the region. The locks were easy and fun.
Jarnac it’s self was very nice some of the places on the route were shown as having restaurants or shops when they didn’t and had closed years ago these require updating as impacted what food we bought when we did have access to a shop.
Le boat were fantastic. An unforeseen problem with the boat was fixed quickly (even on a Sunday afternoon) and from the initial onboarding to check out the experience was fantastic. Location wise the Charente was nice but not my favourite location of the various rivers I have been on.
