Outrageous door staff attitude
Unbelievably outrageous attitude by one of the female door staff here last night. As a customer of the bar for over 25 years, I was completely taken aback when I was immediately quizzed about my reason for being there, and told I was being “rude” for taking shelter on the terrace from the rain. I had literally just arrived and was shaking the rain off me, prior to going in. If I had been stood there for 5 or 10 mins without buying a drink, MAYBE that might warrant being told to move on. This ludicrous individual seems to think it’s fine to call customers rude within 30 seconds of arriving before they have even spoken or entered the bar. I have often wondered why Legends is regularly deserted on a Saturday night, when I walk by, and now it all makes perfect sense. The person responding to the negative reviews for this place, calling them “histrionic”, “sour grapes”, “cowards” etc also tells you everything you need to know about how badly this place is being managed. Why not take on board the feedback and take steps to be less hostile with your long-term paying customers? You might find that helps you win a few of them back.
Ear plugs provided
The problem is that the rooms in the hotel are badly impacted by the club run downstairs at the weekends in particular .On a Saturday night itstays open until 4am and the hotel management feel that is more important than the hotel rooms and guests sleeping .
Their answer is to provide ear plugs . It just doesn't work and they are not even prepared to discuss the issue.
Its a resort hotel and people must expect the noise .

Terrible Experience
Terrible Experience – Avoid This Hotel!
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff were completely incompetent and gave us false information about parking. We purchased a parking ticket through the hotel and were assured it was fine to park in a specific zone. We even double-checked with them, only to wake up the next morning to find a ticket on our car.
The room itself was awful – there were bugs in the bathroom, no air conditioning, and the WiFi was so bad that I couldn’t get any work done. When we tried to discuss everything with the staff the next morning, we were completely dismissed and treated rudely. On top of that, there was no one at reception when we initially tried to address our concerns.
Overall, a horrible experience. Poor service, terrible facilities, and rude, unhelpful staff. Avoid this place at all costs!

Honesty of the staff.
Upon a visit to this venue, forgetful old man I have lived to be, I forgot my wallet, leaving it on an outside table. After a longer night ringing to cancel all of my cards, and with over £30 cash inside the wallet, I did not expect ever to see it again. Inside too were cherished pictures of my late leading-man, for me the most valuable of any other item. Into the early hours, no sleep, I rang the next morning with little hope of little more than the empty wallet being thrown aside, I was told staff had come across it, and it was in the night safe. No reward was accepted, and as for contents; ALL my cards, and pictures of my beautiful bear R.I.P. Nothing was missing. The honesty is refreshing indeed.

While on holiday in Brighton we decided…
While on holiday in Brighton we decided to call in for a drink. We had 2 small folding bikes with us which we put on the patio area by our table as it was not very busy, this done on full view of the staff.
W
I went to the bar and purchased 2 drinks for us which (was not cheap) and sat down to enjoy a refreshing drink, a few minutes later this guy came up to us and said shift the bikes as he didn't want them on the patio area even tho they were tucked away from other customers plus it wasn't busy, he suggested putting them across the road against the sea front railings which anyone in Brighton will tell you is a big NO as they get pinched, be was very rude in how he approached us and said it had to be done instantly so we had rush our pints and go within minutes. He was quick enough take our money. We drank up and left and went another bar just down the road who made us very welcome along with our bikes

Unprofessional Response to Honest Feedback
We recently left a review on Booking.com about my stay at this hotel, highlighting both positive and negative aspects. I appreciated the location, which is close to the pier and major attractions, and the sea view from the room. However, the room was far too small for two people. There was only one chair, making it uncomfortable to sit or move around. The mattress was too hard, leading to neck pain, and the bathroom lacked basic amenities like hand wash and proper shower gel.
We requested an additional chair, and while one staff member was helpful, another completely dismissed our request and showed no willingness to assist, which felt unprofessional. Additionally, the hotel recorded our debit card details for potential damages during check-in, but during checkout, they refused to inspect the room with us or let us take photos to protect ourselves. This lack of transparency and respect left a very poor impression.
Rather than addressing these valid concerns, the hotel's response was shockingly unprofessional and rude. Instead of acknowledging my feedback, they responded by banning me from their venue and ridiculing my comments, calling them "ludicrous."
As a paying guest, I believe feedback should be treated with respect, even if management disagrees with it. The response I received was not only unprofessional but also highly inappropriate for a customer service-oriented business.

aggressive and rude management
For anyone who expects a fair custimer service in case something goes wrong at Legends Hotel, go and read the reviews, good an bad, on the diffweerent platforms, and notice how the reviews are answered by hotel management. It really says a lot about the kind of place this hotel is. The good reviews are deemed to be "balanced", even though they are 5 stars. 'Balanced' means a mix of good and bad. The bad reviews are deemed fake, the posters are deemed to be rude, to have poor judgement and wrong expectations as if they were stupid and ignorant when they made a booking. This was also my experience, by the way. There isn't, in any answer to a bad review, the humility to take responsibility, any sympathy for the guests' predicament, any attempt to understand their experience and point of view, any hint at apologising, any promise to improve. The replies to the bad reviews, give you, potential guests, some idea of how you will be talked to and treated if something goes wrong: with total lack of professionalism from staff, but more importantly, from the management, who should set the tone for a good enough customer service. But don't.

Good location But room wasn’t cleaned properly, towels left as it was, milk and coffee not replaced. Noise from basement club like previous reviews from other customers which didn’t stop till 4am and we were on the 3rd floor . Never mind about the creaky floor too. !!

Nice rooms and convenient for shops / restaurants:)
Stayed here a few times now. Nice food and friendly staff. Rooms are comfy and clean. It’s a hotel with a busy bar / club so of course it will be Loud at night. My only moan would be the breakfast prices . £10 if booked in advance which is good value but on the day it’s £13 , not sure why as last year you could pay as you go. Defo will return :)

Noisy venue for sleep
I recently stayed at the location. I should have checked beforehand however I was not aware the basement night club didnt close until 3am. My room was on the first floor so I could hear the music until it closed at 3am Monday morning. Then there was a banging noise going on and the creaking floor boards in the corriors with people walking up and down Providing ear plugs is not the answer so they must know there is a noise issue and people have complained before so some cheap foam ear plugs are not going to help much.
I left a review on the Booking. com website who I book via similar to this review and Legends responded by banning me from the venue.
Have no plans in ever staying there again. First and last time.
Its more a cabinet / night club than a hotel. If you do stay book your breakfast when you book in @ £10.00 as you get charged additional £2 if you request a breakfast in the morning. Why the additional charge if the kitchen and staff are already in place?

The danger zone
I got told to leave the bar and the bouncers did not let me take my wife home and said she can make her own decision whether to come back with me ot not? Just because we had an argument they left me on my own outside and her inside? Why are they allowed to do this?!?! If you are a women and want to feel safe, then this is not the place to go as the owners allowed my loved one to be all alone

I'm going to report them and I wsnt fall refund.
I know Because I left my phone on to record and funny I left my necklace in the door. As I had gut feeling and the way Danielle acted.
