This really hurts to write. I have used Lenovo laptops for some 10 - 12 years and have been more than satisfied with product and customer service. Not any more. My sweet little Yoga 6 needs a renewal... See more

I bought a lenovo legion laptop and Bios deployment from lenovo vantage has destroyed the laptop twice even after making sure the laptop is connected to power. I was told by lenovo support to send the laptop to them but instead they sent pictures of my laptop extremely damaged. Now they are telling me to pay over £1000 to repair something that was not caused by me
Three Motherboards in Three Months – A Premium Laptop That Failed at Every Level
I have never written a review like this before, but after everything I have been through with Lenovo, I feel compelled to share my experience to help other customers make an informed decision.
I purchased a premium Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 workstation for professional use. This was not a budget laptop. It was marketed as a high-end business machine designed for reliability and demanding workloads. As someone working in a senior engineering and operations role, I relied heavily on this laptop for my day-to-day responsibilities.
Within just 2–3 months of ownership, the laptop suffered repeated and serious hardware failures.
During this period, Lenovo replaced:
* THREE separate motherboards;
* The battery;
* Cooling fans and other internal components.
Despite all of these repairs, confidence in the machine was completely lost. No customer should experience this level of failure on a premium business laptop that is only a few months old.
To make matters worse, during one of the repair visits, the Lenovo technician left screws on my desk after reassembling the laptop. These were not spare screws; they were screws that were supposed to remain inside the machine. Discovering that the laptop had been returned to me in this condition was shocking and deeply concerning.
However, the most disappointing aspect of this entire experience was Lenovo’s handling of the situation.
Throughout the process, there appeared to be no real ownership of the issue, no genuine concern for the impact this had on me as a customer, and no proactive effort to find a better long-term resolution. I repeatedly had to chase for updates, explain the same problems over and over again, and push for action.
I expected a premium level of support to match the premium price paid for the laptop. Instead, I experienced delays, poor communication, repeated repairs, and what felt like complete indifference from management. At no point did I feel that Lenovo truly appreciated the inconvenience, disruption, and loss of productivity caused by these failures.
This entire experience has permanently damaged my trust in the Lenovo brand. I will never purchase another Lenovo product again, and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Lenovo to colleagues, friends, family members, or professional contacts.
Premium products should come with premium quality and premium support. Unfortunately, my experience delivered neither.
Absolutely unacceptable. Absolutely disappointing.
I sincerely hope Lenovo reviews both the quality control of its products and the effectiveness of its customer service processes because no customer should have to endure what I have experienced
Unbelievably Bad company
Unbelievably Bad company, Placed a order, no confirmation, no emails, phoned them to confirm order, they lost it, cant find it after multiple phone calls and hours and hours on there help chat being passed from department to department. They took my money and said they will probably send me a email in 5 working days, I cant cancel it due to them having no idea where it is. I will never buy from Lenovo again.
Stay Away.

Useless unhelpful, kept asking same questions . No onsite support. Not competent
I bought 2 identical Lenovo Ideapad…
I bought 2 identical Lenovo Ideapad laptops at the same time. One of them worked great, but the other has had issues from the beginning. Even though I bought both of them through Amazon in the U.S., the faulty device was somehow registered in India. They could never seem to get that corrected. After months of struggling with their support desk, the warranty finally expired, and their solution was to take it to Best Buy for repair. I've been a geek for many years, and many people often ask my opinion on computer brands, I will never recommend Lenovo.
Laptop arrived smashed. A month on still no refund.
£2000 refurb laptop for my new business arrived smashed and not adequately packed. When I called to report this, rather than arranging a replacement, sales attempted to upsell me to a £4,500 laptop and wasted my time. I found an equivalent laptop elsewhere, new, at a similar price, arriving next day in perfect condition.
Lenovo arranged return of the damaged laptop and had tracking confirming they received it on morning of 18 May 2026. As of 9 June - 22 days later - they have only just acknowledged it is in their warehouse, and are now saying it could be a further 10 working days before I see my money. That is potentially 5-6 weeks to receive a refund for a faulty item.
In the meantime I have been hampered in running my business. In debt, accruing credit card interest, and losing interest on savings accounts i had to dip in to to buy second laptop. I have spent 5-6 hours chasing this across calls and emails.
When I asked for a complaints process I was told there wasn't one. Support staff are powerless and work entirely from a script - every response is 'thank you, we really appreciate that' regardless of what you say.
I am now pursuing a chargeback and compensation through the courts. I would implore every UK customer to know their rights and do the same. This is simply not good enough.

I am slightly dExcellent Performance, Questionable Reliabilityisappointed with Lenovo.
I am slightly disappointed with Lenovo.
My previous laptop was a Lenovo Y500, and it was probably the best laptop I have ever owned. It had excellent specifications, an incredibly sturdy build quality, and lasted for nine years. In fact, it is still working today.
Because of that experience, I bought a Lenovo Legion. Overall, I do like the laptop. The performance has been excellent, I've used it for everything from work to gaming, and four years later it is still running strong. However, several design issues have left me frustrated.
1. Power adapter cable
The power adapter cable is a well-known issue. There are numerous reports online showing that the solder joints inside the cable eventually fail. Lenovo is clearly aware of the problem, yet the same design continues to be used. In practice, this means that after a few years you may need to replace the adapter or, if you are comfortable with soldering, repair the cable yourself.
2. Power jack
The motherboard power jack is another commonly reported weak point. Looking through user reports, the general consensus is that it typically fails after around three years. Mine lasted four years before developing problems. Fortunately, the repair was straightforward: the internal contacts simply needed to be realigned. Still, this should not be a common maintenance item on a premium laptop.
3. Serviceability
Compared to older Lenovo designs, serviceability has taken a step backwards. On previous models, many components could be accessed independently. On the Legion, even routine maintenance such as cleaning the fans often requires removing the entire heatsink assembly and then cleaning and reapplying thermal paste.
Since gaming laptops should ideally have their cooling systems cleaned at least once a year to maintain performance and prevent overheating, this turns a simple maintenance task into a much more involved procedure. Any repair involving the motherboard becomes significantly more time-consuming as a result.
4. Audio jack failure
After four years, the headphone jack failed mechanically. The internal switch would trigger whenever pressure was applied to the chassis, making the laptop think headphones had been plugged in and muting the speakers. I eventually had to desolder the audio jack entirely to solve the issue. The speakers now work correctly, but I permanently lost the headphone jack.
5. Chassis durability
The outer frame of the laptop eventually cracked at what appears to be a structural weak point. The laptop has not been abused, so this was disappointing to see.
Final thoughts
The Legion still offers excellent performance and remains a capable machine after four years of heavy use. However, several of its weaknesses appear repeatedly in online discussions, particularly the power adapter and power jack issues. Combined with the reduced serviceability and durability concerns, it feels as though long-term reliability was not given the same priority as it was in older Lenovo products such as the Y500.
The most frustrating aspect is that many of these issues are not random failures but appear to be recurring design weaknesses that have been reported by users for years. When combined with the reduced serviceability of the machine, it creates the impression that long-term durability and repairability were not priorities during the design process.
Lenovo built its reputation on durable, repairable laptops that lasted for many years. The Legion is powerful and enjoyable to use, but it does not inspire the same confidence in long-term ownership that earlier Lenovo laptops did.
Overall rating: 3.5/5. Great performance, but disappointing durability and repairability compared to Lenovo's older generations.
Horrible. IdeaPad Slim 5 - steer away from them!
Horrible.
I got a lenovo laptop in October of 2025, specifically, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 Laptop 15.1" OLED (Ryzen 7 7735HS/32 GB/1 TB/Radeon™ 680M Graphics/Windows 11 Home). Being super specific here, as it was faulty (and I've since learned of other people's faulty laptops of this specific line as well).
It had some issues in the beginning, screen doing weird things when going full screen, bugging a lot, opening and closing windows on it own, not changing language in system (or changing it in half the system idk how or why)etc. It would turn off on its own, stuff like that. I didn't notice it in the first month or two, as I was barely using it. Then, comes January this year - I send it for service for the first time, as it refuses to turn on. They said it was a motherboard issue - changed it, sent it back. Lo and behold, issues persist - they said it needed a format (for god's sake), sent it back. This kind of kept happening, they changed the motherboard again, and I ended up having it in service on-and-off for >5 months in total, not using it at all in between, since there was no value in my setting it up while it displayed the same issues still. In the end, they declared it as unfixable, and I could only return it to the store (not lenovo, but an official seller in Greece) for store credit. I want to showcase how tragic my experience was - support is all but nonexistent, the laptop needed to stay in service for all these months to be deemed unfixable, and even changing motherboard twice (!) didn't satisfy the company's policy for deeming it unfixable, but rather it had to go through service again. Terribly dissatisfied, and honestly a waste of a couple stickers i had on the laptop. The fact the refund was for store credit is another letdown-cherry-on-top, but not exclusively on lenovo.
Pointless contact with this company
I was in the market for a new laptop as the HP one I got broke within a week, and after promising me a swap, refunded instead. It's urgent as my daughter is doing her A levels.
I found an Acer one and A refurbished Lenovo. The Lenovo being more expensive even though it was a refurb and none of my bluelight discounts would work. So WhatsApp chatted with Lenovo. Sent them the refurb link.
He asked to create an account so he could get me a discount. I asked if he could delete my data afterwards if we didn't get a product. He said he could.
I created the account, gave him my email and he immediately said he couldn't offer a discount on a refurb product!! He knew it was a refurb laptop I was looking at!!!
He then tried to sell me a new product at nearly £300 more expensive than the Acer I was looking at which came with 3 years warranty (not 1 like Lenovo).
As it was same RAM and storage and you have to buy Lenovo's stylus I said no.
I kept saying it didn't matter, delete my details I'll get the Acer one and I was annoyed he had wasted over half an hour of my time.
He tried telling me Lenovo was Better than Acer and that the product I was looking at was old, which it isn't.
He then magically prepared a quote for theirs to basically match the Acer bit said it needed approval and he would come back to me that day.
I have stressed it's urgent, I need a replacement for my daughter due to the previous issue with HP
Despite numerous chats, this quote has not yet been approved a day and a half later. I have asked they delete my account, they passed me back and forth and in the end I've had to log into the account and try and delete it myself. Absolutely pointless exchange with this company. Needlees to say, I didn't buy a Lenovo laptop.
Terrible service, my fault because I forgot to check TrustPilot again before buying!!!
Update 5th June: Upped to 3 stars. I received my order safely and intact.
Original Review: I ordered a bundle tablet, pen and case on 1st June 26 to replace my old Honor tablet! It was meant to be delivered on 3rd, but the delivery was changed to Friday 5th.
I noticed it's coming from the Netherlands!
On my account on the the Lenovo website it says shipped, however elsewhere on the same website it says it has not been.
The UPS tracking just says label created and waiting for parcel! So something in the system is lying!
I got the email address for them from PayPal but it bounced back, so not a good sign! I couldn't get them on their chat function because AI wouldn't allow me further.
I have now opened a case with PayPal to cancel my order and get a refund. I have provided proof and we'll see what happens! I'll update on here when I get a response.
On reading the reviews on TrustPilot after my purchase I see people have received faulty items, so I am not very confident about this either. Anyway I'll post an update if I get any further!
I'm angry at them for inconveniencing me and for their unprofessionalism, but frustrated at myself because of my making the same pathetic mistake for stupidly forgetting to check TrustPilot reviews once again before buying!
I bought directly from a 'so called' trusted manufacturer name Lenovo thinking it would always be best to buy direct! Wrong again! I hope I have finally learnt my lesson!!
Although they've claimed their profile on TrustPilot they cannot be bothered to reply to their many 1 star reviews! Proof that they're terrible everything!
Two faulty laptops in six months and no reply from lenovo
Two faulty laptops in six months - now going to court
Purchased a Legion Pro 7 (£2,0
500+) in November 2025.
First unit had a faulty display - confirmed by Lenovo as a hardware defect. After weeks of delays and having to send a formal Letter Before Action, they finally sent a replacement in March 2026.
The replacement has a faulty GPU. I've documented 3 system crashes, over 1,000 driver fatal errors, and captured sensor data during a crash proving it's a hardware defect - not overheating, not software.
I sent a formal rejection letter demanding a refund on 24 May. No response. Deadline passed.
Now filing in Small Claims Court and initiating a bank chargeback.
Six months, two faulty laptops, countless ignored emails.
Avoid Lenovo
They are f-ing thieves
They are f-ing thieves. They want you to purchase the extended warranty, but then don't honor their own policies. Their stupid AI bot just claims you damaged the device. It has never been damaged. It's hardly moved in two years. Their ethernet port, just now trying to utilize, has never worked apparently. They need a Luigi.
they actively practice in scams
they actively practice in scams. weaseling their way out of performing their contractual obligation. their yoga slim laptop breaks down after 9 months of use. do NOT buy any products from them. people will keep committing crimes if you allow them to get away with it
Horrible
Horrible, terrible. They lie. Tell you shipping date, take your money for expedited shipping and then ship when they f***king feel like it with no concern for the customer. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM LENOVO AGAIN. It doesn’t take a blow to the head to spot a shit company. Take over $1000 and have NO care about the customer who supports them and keeps them in business. Too many other options out there to ever deal with this shit again. Lesson learned and buyer beware.
Lenovo Premium Care Hungary breaches consumer laws and refuses service
I am extremely disappointed with Lenovo Premium Care in Hungary. My laptop developed a persistent audio and microphone defect. The Lenovo technician replaced the motherboard and reinstalled Windows, but the issue immediately returned. The technician officially documented and signed on the worklog that the defect persists after the hardware replacement.Despite this clear proof from their own technician, the Hungarian support staff now claims this is a "purely software issue" and refuses further warranty service or a replacement certificate. They even ordered me to use the laptop without official AMD software, and explicitly refused to escalate my case to a supervisor. This is a direct breach of Hungarian consumer protection laws (Government Decree 151/2003) and Lenovo's own internal policies.I have already reported this misconduct to the Government Consumer Protection Authority and Lenovo's Global Compliance Office. I demand immediate management intervention and the authorization of my replacement certificate.

Love the device but due to the service I will never recommend.
I recently purchased the Lenovo Idea…
I recently purchased the Lenovo Idea Centre Tower, 081RR9 at Best Buy. I give it a 1 rating for a number of reasons; I have a vision problem, and you can't get a full screen, just, 3/4 or 1/2 screen due to the frequent "pop-up ads." I feel that the company is more concerned about themselves making money from ads than the customers experience. McAfee is also in the computer. I have had a very negative experience with McAfee and cancelled my subscription with my other computer.
