If the option was to give a zero rating…
If the option was to give a zero rating for this organisation I would. They should consider themselves very privileged to be given a one star rating. They have booked an appoinment with me to collect vehicle. Don't turn up on the day of appoinment, then call me out of the blue the next day to inform me that they will collect the vehicle today without any notice. They think people have nothing better to do then wait at home for them to organise a collection when it suits them. I informed the driver I was at work so would not be in for collection and was not informed of appoinment, so what do they do???? They send me a bill for missed collection of vehicle of £150. Then make another appointment with me and I take leave from work again and guess what they once again do not turn up. Their ignorance is only matched by their incompetence.
Completely unreasonable
My Kia EV6 leased by Lex Auto has a battery fault and I have now been waiting for 11 months for it to be fixed. My lease is finishing this month and Lex are going to continue charging the monthly fee until the vehicle is fixed as it “states in the contract” that the car needs to be returned fixed. Surely their complaint managers can exercise some common decency in this circumstance and not keep me trapped. Kia sold them the vehicle and it is a fault under warranty so why do I need to be involved after my contract. My car is sat at my local Kia garage (waiting to go to the only specialist centre where Kia can fix electric batteries) so I don’t think it’s unreasonable that I can hand my car over to Lex and they take it from there. Absolute madness!
Avoid Lex Auto Lease at all costs!
Extremely rude staff when speaking to them on the phone to report an issue with the vehicle. Offered no help whatsoever to get a few issues resolved a week or so after delivery, I was told to raise a complaint if I wasn't happy with the service I received or wanted to get my issues sorted out. Poor communication and customer service! The Electric Car Scheme use this company when leasing a car through them so be very wary...
Be very careful with this lot
Be very careful with this lot. They just tried charging me for 20000 miles I hadn't done and are continually trying to charge me for the vehicle for weeks after the rental ended, because their logistics partner didn't turn up, twice, to collect it. Absolute shambles of a company, although customer services do at least try to be helpful when you get through.
Very disappointing
Very disappointing. I complained about very poor customer service - no communication at all. Lex Autolease chose to not deal with the problem and chose to focus on a warranty issue. Glad I have terminated my lease.
Total rip off for early termination and…
Total rip off for early termination and what they consider damage.
Corporate Thieves
Simply the worst company to deal with.
Stole £75 out my bank account for a fine that related to a big yellow van rather than the small car I leased. Claimed it was my responsibility to challenge the ticket issued, when they, as the registered keeper, should have looked at the photo provided by the council and realised it wasn’t their car (never mind the one I had leased). The argument they hid behind was my contract says I am responsible to pay for fines associated with my car, so despite this clearly not being the car I leased, they paid the fine and took money out my account, unauthorised, to cover their cost. Lex Leasing sees fit to be Judge, Jury , and executioner in a manner which belies belief. In short, a corrupt company with corrupt practices, as their incompetent Customer Complaint Department confirmed.
AVOID at all costs. We DO NOT recommend.
PLEASE read all reviews before using Lex Autolease.
They are NOT what they claim to be. Do not expect good service, do not expect assistance, READ the fine print!
If you have an issue with the car YOU pay, you will be told its THEIRS and there's nothing you can do.
READ the fine print, do not trust Lex Autolease it will cost more than you can think. Look elsewhere. They are not cheap, they are not good, be careful.
Regret guaranteed.
I rang to arrange to re-tax my car…
I rang to arrange to re-tax my car before the £195 tax. It should have been easy to do but they are not bothering. The person on the phone could not say why but clearly lots of angry customers. You had the chance to be proactive and look after clients but instead you did not bother. Put a complaint in a few weeks ago and had a text today saying you are still looking into it. Not much to look into really so I assume you have loads of complaints about the same thing. Is no one running the company, you are useless and cost me £195
1-Star Review
1-Star Review – Extremely Disappointed with Lex Auto Lease
I am extremely disappointed with Lex Auto Lease and their lack of customer care. As an electric vehicle (EV) lease customer, I recently requested that they renew my road tax before the upcoming government rule change, which would have saved me hundreds of pounds. This was a simple request that required minimal effort on their part, yet they flatly refused without providing a valid reason.
Lex Auto Lease, as the registered keeper of the vehicle, has full control over when the tax is renewed, and many other leasing companies are honoring similar requests. Their refusal is completely unreasonable and shows a total disregard for their customers' financial well-being. Instead of taking an easy step to help a loyal customer, they chose to do nothing, forcing me to pay an avoidable extra cost.
This experience has highlighted their poor customer service and lack of flexibility when it truly matters. If you're considering leasing with Lex Auto Lease, I strongly advise you to think twice—they are more than happy to take your money but unwilling to take even the smallest steps to support their customers when needed.
I have raised a complaint with them, but their response has been dismissive. I will be escalating this to the BVRLA and Financial Ombudsman. I would never lease from them again and would not recommend them to anyone looking for a fair and customer-focused leasing provider.
🚨 Avoid Lex Auto Lease if you want a company that actually cares about its customers! 🚨
Needlessly making me pay VED
I leased an EV from Lex Autolease on a three year lease starting September 2022.
I recently got an email from them to inform me that due to changes in VED, they will be charging me for road tax when it becomes due. I highlighted to them that if they renewed the tax now before the deadline, it would be free for another year, and that therefore there should be no VED payable for the remainder of my lease and for some months beyond that.
Despite pretending to empathise with my situation, they claimed it's "company policy" not to renew VED early. They then referred me to their complaints department, who then said they'd take up to 8 weeks to respond to me.
The thing about company policies is that they're written by the company themselves. There's absolutely no need for them to stick to this policy, and they could choose to demonstrate excellent customer service by behaving otherwise.
Why would I choose to trust an organisation that chooses to treat their customers with such contempt? They're getting the 1 star review they deserve. I'm willing to change this review if Lex Autolease reconsider their unreasonable stance that I believe is also in breach of contract - after all, this VED doesn't have to be payable.
No thought for Customers
If I could give zero I would. New tax for EVs comes in on 1st April but you can tax them now and get it free for another 12 months, so why not look after your customers and offer that service, even for an admin fee say £10 BUT No, Policy says no, they then will charge you VAT which you would not pay if you taxed it yourself. They do not have a policy for new tax banding from the Government even though all they said was "Thats not our Policy!' Wow, no wonder they are 1.7, just after themselves and to make money no thought for any customers. DO NOT USE THEM
Never will I ever use LexAutolease again.
Never will I ever lease a car from LexAutolease again.
At every turn they try to extract money from you. They are inflexible, give lip service about helping customers but when it comes down to it they don't care. Admin fees and hidden costs everywhere. AVOID
I've made the mistake into entering…
I've made the mistake into entering into a contact with Lex Autolease.
The contracts are so ambiguous and contradictory.
Just advising people to ensure they fully understand the contracts before signing up as they are rigid and have no sense of personal circumstances.
Never again, avoid at all costs
Really poor service
Really poor service. Called in today because my vehicle of 18 months broke down.
Was told they couldn’t help me and to ‘google’ the car manufacturer and see if anything came up so I could contact them instead.
I got the feeling the agent couldn’t care less and just wanted me off the line.
Getting one star because I can't give…
Getting one star because I can't give zero. Work van breaks down in Europe. Get it recovered and repaired. Lex say that I must pay the €500 and "may" be able to claim it back. Three more hours of phone calls and emails and it turns out they can pay the bill. Customer service shocking.
Watch out for service charges at the end, even if no service is due
I have had several vehicles from Lex over the last 8 years. I returned my last lease vehicle to them December 2024. The vehicle had not reached the manufacturer's requirements to be serviced, in fact I provided evidence to show that Volvo did not need the car servicing, so there were no service records to handover as it was less than two years and not hit it's millage limit. Having raised a dispute on their extortionate missing service document fee and set out my reasoning and evidence, I was directed to their terms and conditions that supersede the manufacturer requirements, and they have kept the charge in place. I am unsure why Lex Ts and Cs are able to superseded a manufacturers servicing requirements, save as to act as a charging function to exiting customers. Very disappointing end to a long period of business. Review left to encourage anyone in the same situation to get it serviced anyway even if it isn't required before the lease up, as it's cheaper.
Would use again
I leased a VW T-Roc over 4 years. I never had any issues with delivery and no issues throughout the lease. On return of the vehicle, it was easy to arrange and they noted a few body scratches to be expected over a 4 year period. Although the collection company confirmed some charges, when I logged into Lex they had credited £300 so the final payment was minimal. They also credited my last debited payment as I'd given the car back a few weeks early than expected. Again, all without any call from me. I would use them again and recommend.
Lex Autolease offer the most appalling…
Lex Autolease offer the most appalling customer service imaginable. I currently lease 2 vehicles from them and 1 of those vehicles cannot be driven safely due to Volvo not ordering a part they knew had to be installed today (they cannot now fit the part for a further 2 weeks, so it will be 3 weeks in total). Although very frustrated with the Volvo dealership for this oversight, my agreement is with Lex with whom I pay a lot of money to lease me a vehicle I can drive and that is safe. I called Lex Autolease as they are the registered owners of the vehicle and I lease it from them, and I pay to be able to drive in a car I can use that is safe. I explained the situation to them but they have no procedure other than we need to investigate, which for a company that size isn't a quick process. Kids need collecting from school in 3 hours and they simply aren't interested in providing an urgent resolution such as an emergency car hire until the lease car is roadworthy. They offer no resolution or suggestions of any kind. Basically they have thrown the issue back to me as the customer and told me there is nothing they can do until they contact Volvo and investigate but this won't be today (and it's the weekend tomorrow). They don't accept that I pay them to provide a vehicle I can use that is safe, or that the onus is on them to rectify this issue. But they don't want to know and there seems to be no escalation procedure in an emergency situations like this. I was told "Managers are not phone facing" so you cant even speak to someone who can make a decision. They will take your money but when something goes wrong, you need to work to their timescales (if you raise a complaint to the customer resolution department the auto email you receive says they will get back to you within 6-8 weeks).
I will never use Lex Autolease again, the lack of empathy or understanding is astounding. You are left on your own and treated with corporate arrogance of the worst kind, having to fend for yourself when a situation arises.
PLEASE READ! Lex have kept me and my son in an abusive situation
If I could give zero stars I would!
I had been a customer with Lex for over 5 years, I had never missed a payment and was a very good customer.
This is my story... In January 2024 my Range Rover Sport was stolen in London. I was out of contract and had a rolling contract that I was paying month by month. I had received a quote previously in December 2023 from BCA with an offer to purchase the car for £28,775 my insurance company paid out over £40k for my car to Lex and they kept all monies. I paid for the rental on my car from January 2024-April 2025 whilst the insurance was dealing with the pay out.
Back in 2020 during covid I had taken a payment holiday as I was furloughed and expecting a baby on my own and as I had no income I was given the option to take a 3 month break, which I was grateful for. Although I was still making payments for the car from January 2024-April 2025 Lex did a part refund on the money I had been paying and then DEFAULTED MY CREDIT FILE! Instead of using the over payments for the two outstanding covid payments, they placed a default with no 14 day warning. The first I found out about the default was the letter to say that they had defaulted my credit file. They have caused myself so much stress and my mental health has suffered considerably.I have left an absuive relationship to try and start a new life for me and my 4 year old son. because of the default I am now unable to move to be closer to my sons school because I am unable to get a mortgage because of the default. I pleaded with Lex that I wanted to pay whatever was outstanding and the default removed as they don't realise the implications this is having on mine and my sons life BUT THEY DID NOT CARE!! I am now fighting it with the financial ombudsman in the hope that we can get it removed. I WOULD NEVER EVER recommend LEX to anyone. They are greedy and they do not care what damaged they cause to young families.
