Worst car lease provider
They advertise 0% APR with Tesla but good luck being approved, it doesn’t matter if you have a stellar credit score. Either there is a glitch with their credit review process, or they have maxed out their exposure at these terms and will not onboard more customers, or it is a scam. The worst is that there is no feedback loop referenced in their email other than sending a letter by post (good luck with that!), they seem to make it difficult on purpose to speak to them. It’s the worst experience I’ve had with a car leasing company, exceptionally poor customer service, Tesla should find an alternative.
Great service from start to finish
Great service from start to finish. Kept me informed all through the process. Would happily use them again.
ID BUZZ, DISASTER
Loads of issues with my ID BUZZ, lex auto not interested, absolutely disgusted that managers will not talk on the phone to me!!!!
Solicitors next step, what a way to treat people.
Leased a vehicle for 3 years with these…
Leased a vehicle for 3 years with these guys and I had no issues whatsoever. Customer service was always friendly and helpful when I called in and the collection process and return of the vehicle was straightforward. Maybe I got lucky but I would recommend.
Very poor service
On 22/08/25 my EV broker offered me a delivery slot for my vehicle, with Lex Autolease showing availability on 29/08/25 or 01/09/25. I opted for 29/08/25.
It is now 28/08/25 and my broker has still not received any confirmation or communication from Lex regarding this booking. This lack of clarity and basic customer service is unacceptable — particularly given that the delivery slot was offered almost a week ago.
For a company of Lex’s size, this level of service is extremely disappointing. Customers should not be left in limbo right up to the day before a scheduled handover, with no certainty if the delivery will even go ahead.
Shocking customer service after 3 year…
Shocking customer service after 3 year lease all paid you put a dispute on my file for £548 after I told you I needed time to pay cause I had to look after my terminal ill father and you didn’t care still stuck a default on which again I have asked for you to remove and the answer no.
Use a different lease/finance company to save pain.
I lease a vehicle from Lex Autolease, when I first started my maintained lease, I was informed that I would be able to have all season tyres put on the vehicle when the manufacturer fitted tyres were end of life. This was unfortunately a lie.
The car that was supplied by Lex has had many issues requiring long remedial work with Volkswagen, each time this has happened, there has been a cost associated with this as well as the fuelling cost of this, my car is electric and charges from the solar panels on my house so there is no cost to me normally. The amount of times the vehicle has gone in for work, the accumulated cost is nearly £200 for which I asked Lex to cover. I am after all paying them for a vehicle that is not able to be driven, they refused this and upheld it via an official complaint that took 7 weeks to be a blanket ‘No, go away’ response. Because of this I have chosen to end my lease early and taken out a lease with a different company. I will be aiming to avoid Lex in the future as they don’t care for their customers.
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
Avoid! Terrible customer service. I expect further trouble as I'm stuck in a contract with them. Will happily take your money and be of no use. Unfortunately got the car through work, if I had seen these reviews I would never have gone with them. So many better companies out there. Avoid! You have been warned.
Poor attention to detail & lack of response.
Upon a review of the agreement as circumstances of my business changed to warrant a change i was initially impressed with the engagement. The process following that initial engagement was nothing more than appalling. Ranging from requesting a response 5 days before the date the document i was requested to sign being impossible to achieve to then being informed that it has expired so had to reapply with limited amount of explaination as to why! Total lack of communication. Resulting in a disproportionate amount of my valuable time being wasted fixing the issue that was not of my doing with another representative from customer services. 2 days later and no response to firm if the ammended document had been process! Total lack of communication. At this stage i am reluctant to use Lex Autolease going forward for both my business car of those of my employee (s).
Dupe consumers
Please don’t ever go with this finance company. They deliberately dupe consumers and force them to use online portal so that customers don’t understand what they are doing and then they provide a big invoice at the end. I paid for miles that I did not receive when I changed my contract their customer service is non-existent for vulnerable customers. The management are a joke and they do not respond to emails. I would never ever finance with these guys again and I would recommend that no one ever works with this company. I have also raised to companies the actor as a broker for Lex.
Poor customer service
Poor customer service. Staff arrogant and don't listen. Use BCA to pick up the cars at end of lease and happy to let this company reak chaos, on there hapless customers.
This is just one of the Horrendous…
This is just one of the Horrendous experiences with this leasing company. So they usually charge for the penalty charges received plus £10-£25 admin fee. When we want to challenge the penalties we need letter of authorisation which is a nightmare to obtain. Spent 40 minutes on the phone when they agreed to give the letter of authorisation. However nothing was sent although 24 hours has passed.
Althought there are a lot of negative…
Althought there are a lot of negative reviews on Trustpilot for LEX, I have to say my experience of leasing with them over the last 4 years has been great. Wanted to change my yearly milage, which was no problem and straight forward. Handing the car back was well organised, and no additional charges due to wear and tear. Nothing to complain about - very pleased.
Beware of damage charges
The lease deal was pretty reasonable on a Renault Zoe. However, on returning the vehicle they invoiced me a huge amount for small scratches on the bodywork. They charge between £117 and £243 per panel/door/bumper, even if there is a single small scratch (which I would say constitutes fair wear and tear) on that panel. The final damage bill came to over £1,000.
Maybe don't bother cleaning the car before you return it, and a lot of the scratches might go unnoticed (wish I'd taken my own advice).
Extremely Poor Customer Service
Ongoing complaint about our Tiguan, which is 3.5 years old, gearbox done in, less than 30,000miles.
We went through the process of having the issue diagnosed at a cost of £160, then through Lex Autolease 8 week complaint process. Received zero correspondence regarding complaint, not even an update.
On the final day of the 8 week complaint, we received the complaint decision. They declined due to requiring the fault be diagnosed. Eh, already done that Lex.
Since then, I have sent 11 emails responding to there "decision" and have not received a single response.
You call them and nobody seems to know anything about the emails, mmm strange 🤔.
Anyway, I guess we need to take it further and get some independent advice. Unbelievably bad customer service!!
We have not been able to use the car since 4th February and have paid £1400 in rentals since then. Fantastic!
Avoid this mob!!
Like talking to a brick wall
Like talking to a brick wall. This company wants to go out of business as they make it very hard to do business with them. What for-profit organisation operates like this?! The shareholders should be worried.
Website is always down
Website is always down. Prices have gone up wat above inflation. Taking advantage of the current financial climate.
Poor communication and slow
Car was booked for a service through Lex. Take the car to the garage only for Lex to delay authorisation saying it had already been serviced recently either previous owner.
Eventually they authorise for the service light to be switched off, but then also state it needs an oil filter changed (which wasn’t communicated when I rang them)which has delayed me further.
The one stars is for the lady I spoke to on the phone who was polite enough, just everything else let them down
I'd seen all the endless negative reviews...
I'd seen all the endless negative reviews on here and wondered how the company was legally still standing. Regardless, I took out a 4 year vehicle lease.
Changing the number plate over was no issue and Lex were very helpful, if not a little slower than I'd have liked. Getting in touch with them is harder than it's made out to be.
Anyway, at the beginning of the fourth year, I decided to early return the vehicle. I'd kept it in immaculate condition. The returns process wasn't smooth (not Lex's fault but rather their chosen collection company) but they were incredibly reasonable about fair wear and tear. No issues there.
So, all in all, apart from being a little hard to contact or get a timely response from sometimes, I can't really fault them and I would use them again. Look after your vehicle and they'll look after you.
