Pet owners trust vets during some very vulnerable moments—and that trust should never feel taken advantage of.

I moved away from these vets in 2025. Recently a close friend who was too loyal to these vets went through a terrible ordeal with them. I feel the need now to come forward and share my shocking experience. From the moment I walked in, it felt like the focus was more on how much they could charge rather than the wellbeing of my pet. Every visit seemed to come with a long list of expensive tests and treatments, many of which were not clearly explained or justified.

Instead of feeling reassured that my animal was receiving genuine care, I left feeling pressured and uncertain, as though financial gain was the priority. A good vet should make you feel confident that your pet’s health comes first, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case here. I get its a business and not a charity. But when they start charging you £43 for a 15ml bottle Metacam (you can purchase online with a prescription at a £10), that you have to start asking questions as to why they are asking these extortionate prices.

I truly hope they reflect on their approach, because pet owners trust vets during some very vulnerable moments—and that trust should never feel taken advantage of.

What should have been a place of trust during a difficult time turned into a costly nightmare

After being a loyal client of this veterinary practice for over six years, I regret that I must now share a serious concern regarding the standard of care and service I recently experienced.

During a period when my usual veterinarian was unavailable, I sought urgent care from the practice.

Unfortunately, I found the level of care provided to be significantly below what I reasonably expected. In my view, there was a lack of appropriate clinical judgment for the aftercare, and the diagnosis and treatment approach did not reflect the standard of professionalism I had previously associated with the practice.

I was also concerned by the level of fees charged throughout this process. The costs appeared excessive, and I was not provided with clear or sufficient explanations to justify them. At a time when I was already under considerable emotional strain due to my pet’s condition, this added further distress.

While I appreciate that veterinary care and medicine can be complex and that outcomes cannot be guaranteed, clients are entitled to transparent communication, competent care, and fair billing practices and most importantly aftercare if they paid such a hefty price.
Based on my experience, I do not feel these standards were met on this occasion.

Given the seriousness of my experience, I would strongly encourage others to consider seeking a second opinion before proceeding with treatment here.
