Mixed bag. If all you want is a "park cash and forget it" high-yield savings account, it works well. If you expect modern digital banking features, reliable Quicken integration, multiple customer support channels, or polished communication, be prepared for a frustrating experience.

We’ve dealt with multiple banks over our 8 years in business, including several Tier 1 institutions, but working with LiveOak has been by far the best experience. Their agile approach, meticulous attention to detail, and absolute commitment to agreements were top-notch. Having worked in the banking industry myself earlier in my career, I only wish I had been part of a workplace culture like the one they have cultivated here.
A special shout-out to Tyler Cocozziello, Huntley Munn, and their respective teams. I know there were many others behind the scenes who helped us close this Refi / Funding Note, which involved a highly complex legal and business structure across multiple locations. Seeing a financial institution stay so laser-focused on details and structured enough to hit tight deadlines—completely free of the usual corporate red tape—was incredible.
Congratulations to the entire LiveOak team! It was a true pleasure working with you.

I have been a member for 7-years and always felt comfortable with Live Oak Bank. If I had a question, I would call and speak directly with staff. Nothing beats direct human interaction.

It was so easy to go online and create an account. The online chat feature makes it easy if you run into any problems or need to make a change.

Very kind, informative and helpful... both phone representatives as well as in person representative who assisted me with a wire transfer. Great communication after when the wire was completed.

Pleased with the current interest rate--double what I was getting with my money market account. Called with a question just a couple of weeks after opening my account. The customer service person needed to follow up with me the following week and DID!!! Not only left a voicemail because I was already on the phone when the call came in, but also an email. Unheard of these days--nicely done, thank you.

On June 1st, I opened a high-yield savings account with Live Oak Bank. I connected it to other bank accounts I had and put money in it.
On June 4th, I was unable to log in to my account. I found out they decided not to move forward with the account, even though I had already opened it. I even have several emails welcoming me to Live Oak Bank. They refused to tell me why and hung up on me every time I called. The most helpful person told me that my money, almost $200 (with plans to add more in the near future), was going back into my account after 60 days. I pushed back on that, and he called back to say it should be more like 5 days.
I looked at my consumer report, and my score is 677. My credit score is between 795 and 810. I have no criminal background -- I have several credit cards, and own a condo and credit card. I've never defaulted on any payment in my life. There's no reason they should close my account, and to add insult to injury, not tell me why, or paths to escalate my complaint. Mashay H claimed she had no boss and refused to provide her full name.
I'm not ruling out a lawsuit and I'm submitting complaints to every regulatory body within reach.
