All around great!
Initial good experience in April 2018: I opened an account, used call back, VoIP out of their mobile app, and international calling using a local dial-in number, and chatted with customer service when I once had a technical issue (one phone I used didn't transmit the key tones). It was all around a great experience - fantastic call quality, attractive rates, intuitive website and app, and really good customer service (called me back on my "problem phone" and set it up manually).
I was hesitant due to the low scores here but now am glad I gave it a try, very positive surprise!!
Update February 2021: I'm still a very happy customer! I found Localphone reliable and once more was successfully helped by customer service - I wasn't able to reach a UK customer service hotline that had a special number, so Localphone actually switched their provider and the problem disappeared. Highly recommended!

Works fine for us.
While we don't use our Localphone account as much as before (as we usually use cheaper routes), when we use it it works as it should, can't complain. Used both VoIP and call-forwarding numbers, and all work as they should. Had issues in the past, but this was all sorted out by their customer support folks.
Unreliable service, customer service is good though
Used to be great now its just another "cheap" (quality) service, while the rates do not do justice to the service offered.
Customer service is responsive.

I made phone call 2/4/18 to call my father through local phone.It was international call and local phone charged me $3 for this phone call.Then something suspicious happened.T-mobile company charged me $200 for one phone call same time as local phone company I made through them..I contacted them through customer service and LOCAL PHONE denied that this is not their fault.I decided to cancel my account right away after this case.I had $7 left on my account and LOCAL PHONE told me after I asked them to refund my money and LOCAL PHONE will not refund this amount of money because I am closing my account...REALLY....THIS I CALL LEGALLY STEALING MY MONEY PROCEDURE.!!!!!!!!Be aware guys

Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service, had been using service for a number of years for international calls, have two accounts. Then setup an account for father in-law, added credit went to use the service after verification process, not working. Contacted help desk eventually told they have blocked the account with no reason provided. Asking for ID upload, very suspicious, asked for refund as have been unable to the use service. Customer service reply can't do refund, good bye. Disgusting service will no longer be using their service, would recommend avoiding this company.

App does not work on iOS and this is what the company sent me back when I asked for a refund : Thank you for your email and I do apologize for the inconvenience. Before we proceed with the refund, we need to follow certain rules as per Terms and Conditions.
* You must have more than $3/£3/€3 remaining balance.
* The amount of your order must be more than $3/£3/€3.
* The order shouldn’t be older than 90 days
* We charge a 10% admin fee with a minimum of $1/£1/€1
They want me to pay 10% of my balance that I was requesting a refund for back to them for their pathetic service!

Localphone doing everything expected of them for me, and more.
Have been using Localphone for a few months now, without problem. No setting-up difficulty; no call quality defects. I'm currently using a free Sipgate VoIP incoming number, and was concerned that if Sipgate were ever to cease this generous service that I would want to transfer the number to another company. Although it is not listed as one of their options, Localphone said they could do that, for a fee of £20. I would then be paying them £0.90 per month, but that would be better than having to change the number.

I have been with Localphone for over a year, but the service is currently very poor and customer service does not care. Drop calls, wrong error messages and calling credit truncation are some of the unethical experiences. You need not subject yourself to this horror.

Wow! What a change. It was excellent, now worse than dreadful and you often get charged for calls that are not connected.
Good Value Phone Company
I've been using Localphone for some time as a replacement for my landline. I am generally very happy with call quality, and call prices are very reasonable (especially compared to normal landline charges). Billing is monthly and is fully itemised. Any queries are responded to promptly. The only downside is the quality of the mobile app. Doesn't work well and has not been updated for a while. However it is easy to get round this problem by using a generic phone app (e.g SipSimple, Grandstream Wave or Zoiper).

I have been using localphone for the past 7 - 8 years and this year, it has been from "Excellent service" to "what the heck?" there are issues with:
1. being able to call Nigeria and

Weird numbers appears at the recipient's end and
message looping as if it was recorded in the 1st place (very disturbing).
2. unable to call anymore when roaming - it now says wifi calls only, but that NEVER works!!!
You guys need to get your act together, because you are about to lose a loyal customer....
