All health professionals could benefit

I left raving reviews immediately after the CPD event I attended of Dr Ali’s back in April because of how well delivered and relevant it was to optometrists, I felt much more confident with palsies immediately. The third was always my weakness previously simply because I had yet to experience a patient with one.

The day after the CPD, I came across a patient who had recent brain surgery. He told me he reported to his GP sudden onset full ptosis and tried various antibiotics but nothing had helped. Following brain surgery, he wanted to have his eyelid issue sorted. The patient reported he fell flat outside due an aneurysm and family advised 10% chance of success of surgery. There were weeks between his ptosis and his emergency surgery. I asked him about his pupils- he wasn’t aware he had a huge pupil behind the drooping lid. To cut a long story short, the CPD was so well delivered, I was reading the screening notes and looking at the images of the patient assuming 3rd nerve palsy and ready to send him to a&e. I thought if only that patient had called us first- but also how I wished more health professionals had access to Dr Ali’s great CPDs- so well delivered, easy to digest and practical.

Interesting and helpful talk

The presentation was clear and very helpful when dealing with our patients in the telemedicine service. Nadeem is a great presenter, explains things well and makes it easy to follow.
I would be keen to have Nadeem give a few more talks maybe expand a bit more on double vision

Excellent presentation

Mr Ali’s presentation on neuro ophthalmology was a brilliant overview on the possible diagnosis and urgency of referral for a range of patients presenting to our primary eye care service. It was thorough, well structured, highly engaging and has definitely given me greater confidence in safely managing such patients.
