I did not like this kind of musical. Too much hip hop. Could be mixed with other music styles.

I never leave reviews, but I feel the need to in this case for those that frequent the theatre. Everyone knows that this musical is a masterpiece; however, this particular performance overall was, simply put, not good. To give credit where credit is due, the actors that portrayed Hamilton (excellent), Lafayette/Jefferson (electric), Peggy/Maria (perfectly cast and performed), Hercules/Madison (great supporting actor), and George Washington (commanding performance) were lovely. The remaining performances were some of the worst I’ve ever seen on a stage unfortunately and killed what should have been an incredible experience otherwise. Burr was entirely over-acted and every note seemed over-extended. King George III’s vocals were completely off and cracking. And Angelica— where do I even start? One of the worst cast roles I’ve seen in my life. The singing was atrocious for a character that is supposed to be so strong and powerful. She sang so softly to do the poorest, strangest imitation of the original actress. Considering this was performed in London where talent should be ripe, I expected more. I’ve seen better casting, directing, and acting in local theatre. Additionally, Washington had mic issues three different times. If you’re visiting and are tempted to treat yourself to a show, I highly recommend saving your money and seeing this show elsewhere or taking a chance on another show that doesn’t have the bar set so high.
