No wonder the reviews are poor due the very poor quality and even pathetic customer care. Got a new watch LONGINES LA GRANDE CLASSIQUE DIAMOND BRACELET LADIES WATCH from London, dead after buying, battery change and still not working. Replacement ordered, new one not worked either. Complained with no response. Please stay away and follow the majority here.
I have been using this product for a little over a year and i am happy to say that it is one of the best purchases i have ever made. it functions exactly as advertised and it looks great, too! What could be better_
About 7 years ago my husband and I each bought a gold Présences automatic Longines watch. I had before lost a similar digital Longines watch, or had had it easily removed from my wrist by a thief. Reason: a very short and insubstancial little spoke in the clasp, which slipped out of the hole too easily. Complaint met with indifference. Nevertheless we both bought the automatic watches. Reason: the beautiful, clear face. The watches never kept perfect time. We recently had them serviced at £210 each. They had to be wound 40 turns to get started again.
Complaint: functionality is being sacrificed in the interests of a sleek look and profit. The tiny, mean knob for winding and adjusting time and date virtually disappears into the case. This looks good, but ordinary hands are unable to use the knob with any ease or certainty. The knob is an essential part of the watch and it is useless. As for the little spoke in the clasp, this one too is insecure and I have long ago put the clasp away.
Conclusion: i have had enough of Longines and have put my newly serviced watch in a box indefinitely. So very disappointing.
We purchased two of these and without a doubt they are the worst watches we have ever owned. The first was dead on arrival (opened at Xmas). The last about two years and one month before they need a new battery (6 weeks away and £60 a time). Then they lst about 13 months before a service (10 weeks away and £200). DO NOT BUY A LONGINES WATCH
I bought a beautiful ladies Longines watch as a retirement present to myself but very disappointed. I bought the watch in nearly 3 years ago and now need my 4th battery change. This battery is less than 6 months old. Took yesterday to the shop querying why batteries run out so quickly and was told this is normal. Each battery change become more frequent so on this basis on a year or twos time i will be changing the every month. Just want to bin it now SO disappointed in it. Cant believe this is right but taken to two Longines retailers now and neither bothered. Funnily the copy Longines I bought in a Hong Kong street market c20 years ago is still going strong with a battery change around every 3 years!
Looks great, but must be the worst quality watch I've owned in a long time.
Simply can't believe how soft the "glass" is, afraid to look at it too hard, it might break...
It just has too many scratches from normal day use. Even the case is susceptible to scratches.
The feel when you pull and turn the crown, is a plastic feel.
The watch is beautiful and light weight, but doesn't feel in anyway like quality.
Not worth the price tag.
Ordered a watch from the Longines website on 12/10 and did not hear a single thing from them despite ads all over the site advertising two day shipping. Thought my watch would arrive in 2-3 days. Here it is December 23 and no watch (and not due to get here until the 26th so no present for boyfriend). Throughout the entire process, I never heard a word from them regarding when I might get the watch and when I called them, they said "we're backed up at the processing facility but we'll get it out by the 23rd and will ship overnight so you get it." This, only after I called them to see what was going on and ONLY after they already had my $3500. Once you pay them, you may not see your watch for weeks. And no one cares about that and no one will even notify you. The customer service I get from Amazon and Target are way better than this; they realize people want to get things by Christmas and are honest about delivery times unlike Longines who has misrepresented everything from the moment they took my money.
Received a Conquest Heritage 40mm as a wedding present and I love it. Lovely nod to the original with some contemporary design changes and the 40mm size option as the 35mm was a little small for me.
My son was given a new Longines Conquest by a close family member for his 13th birthday (3 years ago), it is a very nice looking watch, but has been woefully unreliable.
The watch failed the first time when less than a year old and was returned to Longines under warranty. It failed inexplicably twice more during the warranty period and was returned to Longines by mail each time (taking about a month on each occasion).
The watch is now outside its warranty period and has stopped again. We have given up on this Longines watch and concluded that even if we paid Longines for a repair it would just fail again. I have bought my son an Omega for his 16th birthday, so he will just keep the non-working Longines as memento.
Unfortunately we have to conclude that Longines is a poor quality brand that we cannot trust.
Purchased brand new Longines Hydroconquest ceramic bezel late 2019 from Melbourne store boutique in Australia. Turned out that the actual band did not fit my wrist properly. At the time of purchase staff advised to wear it at home and test it out. As it happened the company it’s did not even manufacture half links for this watch! So I had no choice but to return it. It was an absolute nightmare dealing with the store manager. Obviously the watch was not fit for purchase as the company could not fit it to my wrist. It was either too loose or too tight. They did not manufacture half links.
In addition the finish and quality of the Hydroconquest ceremic bezel watch and bracelet was really poor quality. The craftsmanship could NOT compare to my previous watch Oris Aquis Date. Even just the weight and feel of the Hydroconquest was really cheap. Felt like a factory mass production unit with cost cutting incorporated. So eventually after numerous emails and arguing they finally refunded me 2.1K AUD and I wen out and purchased another Oris. This time an Oris Aquis Relief. I couldn’t be happier. The finish and quality you can actually feel on your wrist. Not to mention the company history. Stay away from Longines people! Nothing but a marketing ploy. I mean look at their ambassadors? Absolute joke.
Purchased longines hydro conquest 53mm blue face.superb quality watch fantastic power reserve. Recommend to anyone but only criticism the lume not good.not bright and not longlasting.my old seiko puts this watch lume to shame.well done longines but get the lume improved.mick.
Super happy with my watch, but dissatisfied with the customer service. I wrote an email in December 2018 regarding my warranty since the back side of the loop on my Longines Conquest strap loosened but never received an answer.
I then brought it to a dealer, that told me that my warranty didn't cover (though it was less than two years old = the minimum mandatory duration of warranties here in Denmark) and that leather straps only have a durability of one year - though I have much cheaper and older watches with perfectly fine leather straps.
Now I'm waiting to get a whole new strap which sets me back another 100$. Not very convenient for a student.
