Completely Inadequate Packaging and Shipping
I ordered books from this company, and what should have been a straightforward purchase has turned into a very disappointing experience due to their inadequate shipping practices.
The company offers NO signed for delivery option. My order arrived in flimsy paper packaging - not waterproof, not protective. The postman left the parcel outside in the rain, and the books arrived damaged.
I contacted the company and specifically requested that they resend the order using a shipping option requiring a signature. To their credit, they sent a replacement quickly and free of charge, but they completely ignored my shipping request and sent it the exact same way - unsigned and in paper packaging. While the parcel was tracked, the tracking link they emailed me did not work. Once again, the postman left it outside, and this time the books arrived completely ruined.
It's genuinely heartbreaking to open a parcel you've been waiting for, only to find sodden, destroyed books. Twice. Books deserve better than this.
For a book printing company, the lack of basic protective packaging is astounding. Books are paper products that need waterproof packaging. The refusal to offer signed shipping is unacceptable, especially when a customer specifically requests it after the first delivery failure.
Yes, they replaced the order for free, but what's the point when it arrives in the same unusable condition? I still don't have usable books, and they've wasted resources on a replacement that was inevitably going to be ruined using the same method.
I have now received a full refund. However, it still has been a very disappointing experience.

Pure trash! not only do you need to wait 2 weeks for the book, the book is full of issues with white edges and pixels on the cover!
I followed their guide completely! looks like an issue with them!
colors are dull too on a premium color page!

I am pleased with the printing of my current book. Lulu did a good job.
1) It was difficult to upload the book in PDF without page numbers on: 1-the table of contents, 2-the introduction, and 3-a blank page. I was able to compromise the page numbers by attaching the Word document to the PDF as two documents: one without page numbers, and one with page numbers.
2) I added the blank page to offset the possibility of an insertion of two blank pages in the front of a previously printed book. When I contacted Lulu, I was told that blank pages could/would be randomly inserted. *Thankfully, there is only one blank page inserted at the end of this printing of: The Onus of Plight.
3) I was unable to review the manuscript on Lulu after I uploaded it, so although i wanted to, I was apprehensive about ordering a larger number of books, but as previously stated- Lulu did a good job.

This company makes it very easy to produce a really nice looking book, and mine include illustrations, which come out just great. I'm pleased with the quality of the finished product, the communication from the company and the quick turn-round time for production.

The quality of the book itself was excellent. The portal for ordering was easy to use too. A great experience all around!

I love lulu.com. I've been using them since 2007 and the quality of their books are still just as good as ever. Publishing a book with them is easy and straightforward. I've never had an issue. Whenever I write a new book, I always return to Lulu.

It's free to upload your book, cover & inner templates and rather user-friendly. You can preview the whole book before publishing. The process is quick, except for global distribution. They offer Lulu ISBN if needed. You can create an author page in the Lulu Bookstore. It took 5 working days to print in France(4 books with a few copies).

The UI is user friendly—even easier on Mac than a PC. Process is seamless. Production could be faster but the books always come well made and flawless. You just have to be patient.

Of course I am pleased to be able to use Lulu to publish my books, and also my Virtual Pipe organ overlays. I do however, sometimes encounter the odd issue or little idiosyncrasy.
For example, I find the selection of pricing quite confusing and occasionally it behaves in an unexpected way. I like to have some of my publications available BOTH Direct Purchase from Lulu, AND by Retail Distribution but this results in either excessive profit from Direct Purchase sales or minimal profit from Retail Sales. It would be good if they were set up separately. I am considering creating two different products for the same publication, one Direct Lulu and one worldwide Retail, but that would be quite alot of work.
I would appreciate feedback on this topic, please!

First book came out perfectly. Then I ordered 50, and the covers came streaked and a completely different color compared to the original. I emailed for a reorder and eventually it arrived. The same exact color and a different shape. This has been a ridiculous process that’s lasted over a month and delayed my own personal order. I am very frustrated with the process and will not be using them again
