2 days in a row my Driver showing up 15 minutes later than arrival time. 2nd day, the first driver cancelled my ride having me wait an additional almost 15 minutes for a different driver. This type of inconsistency is highly unattractive as well as unacceptable.

Recieved a $75 Damage fee after an airport ride in Toronto. We arrived and booked a ride, VW jetta arrived and driver never even got out of his car, we loaded our 3 bags into the trunk ourselves. $75 ride to our hotel, again no assistance with bags. Im a large farm boy though, I have no trouble loading my own stuff, I am also a car guy, Id never knowingly damage another persons car. There was very little conversation with the driver and the car did have a funky smell. So I did tip him, but only $5. well, later one I see there is a $75 charge on my account for Damages... So after a chat with Lyft I finally learnt that the damage was scratches on the opening to the trunk lid. I said no way, I never did that... but the chat person said there was nothing they could do.....My reply was I have never seen any proof of said Damage ?? to no avail. I am currently awaiting my credit card company as I did despute the charge

Not giving me a lift.

When I first started driving for Lyft, things were actually quite consistent and in our area a slightly different clientele to Uber. But in the last six months they have gone massively downhill. Their pay is decreasing as too is the number of ride request in my area. I sat at Albany Airport yesterday for five hours and did not get a single ride request. The day before I got three requests in seven hours. Either Lyft customers are walking away or the market is oversaturated with drivers but either way their support system for drivers is pretty non-existent.

Never Book in advance

Never, ever try to book in advance. I booked a 6AM pick up & return 2 wks ahead. I had a 7AM appointment with a surgeon a 35 min drive away. It was confirmed. No one showed, they have no phone number. I booked again one way at 6:20 AM...new ride in 3 min, $10 less than book in advance. This is why I stopped using Uber! I have no trouble with driver skill, competence, friendliness or timeliness. But as for booking in advance so you can relax a little...forget about it! Lyft & Uber are totally incompetent at booking in advance.

Worst service ever!

Worst service ever!! About a week or so ahead of time we reserved a lift to take us to the airport. On the date, they sent us a photo of the driver and said he would be coming within 20 minutes. A few minutes later they said he wasn't available and were looking for another driver. Then everything disappeared a moment or two before the driver was supposed to arrive. There was no record that we had ever made the reservation. This was 6:30 AM in the morning and we had to start calling other services and friends until finally a friend was willing to take us to the airport. Otherwise we would've missed our flight. There was no way to contact LYFT. These people really take no responsibility whatsoever!!

Horrible

Horrible, horrible service cancer patient waiting for a ride for treatment on four different occasions and had nothing but trouble had to reschedule appointments left waiting an hour to be picked up after treatment and no way to contact anyone for complaints of of course when I asked to speak to a supervisor they told me there was not one in the building, and as I heard a woman in the background, she then took the phone and claimed to be a supervisor, even though I was just told there wasn’t one in the building so that in itself is fishy, and I will be calling the insurance company to make sure they are not getting billed for these rides that did not follow through

I would give them Zero star

I would give them Zero star. Pre-scheduled my ride to airport. Got confirmation, but couldn’t find my order on their site later. Tried to cancel this ride (not reliable) and it took several hours to get in touch with their live agent, He confirmed that there is real order on my ride only fake confirmation. Being on the edge of heart attack, I finally managed to cancel this “fake” trip. Ordered standard city taxi; paid slightly higher price, but got excellent service.

THEY ARE AWESOME!

THEY ARE AWESOME!! I’ve been using Lyft for 2.5yrs. Most of the drivers are friendly, polite and helpful. If your ride or your stop is running longer than 5 mins. they message the passenger to make sure that you’re safe. If you ever have a question or need to complain about a driver (rare) they credit you, and you are never paired with that driver again. You can also favorite drivers. They have THE BEST! customer service I’ve experience in a looooong time, and honestly hard to come by nowadays. They are also cheaper than Uber 99% of the time. They go above and beyond!!! THEY ARE AMAZING!

I was in Tempe Arizona last week for a…

I was in Tempe Arizona last week for a business conference. When using Lyft for a ride back to the airport, my colleague and I had the absolute worst experience either of us have ever had using Ride Share. The driver’s name was Jason. He drove a silver Honda Civic. He picked us up at 4450 S. Rural Road at 1:08 PM. First off, the car was an absolute mess. We could barely fit our luggage in his trunk because of all the junk. He laughed it off and we got in anyway. Secondly, his son, who looked to be 7-9 years old, was in the front seat which seemed less than appropriate. Thirdly, he abruptly told his son to shut up! It was one of the lowest things I’d seen in a while. He also seemed extremely distracted and was multi-tasking on his iPad, etc., the entire time. Also, looking over at his kid while he was driving us down a busy highway, instead of having his eyes on the road. Plus, he was speeding. My colleague looked terrified as she put her seat belt on. I said, “Jason, can you slow down? You are making me nervous.” He replied, “no problem” as he laughed it off. He gradually drove faster again, but we were arriving at the airport just before I called him out again. He dropped my colleague off and mentioned that now I am on his nickel because she only added her terminal which was like right next to mine, and like he was doing me a favor. When he was near my terminal entrance, I said, “I can just get out here,” as he sped around the airport. Who does that? Super dangerous. I honestly thought he was drunk. We used Lyft during our trip and all the cars seemed dumpy and the drivers less than friendly. I will never use Lyft again and will only use Uber going forward. I have never had a bad experience with them and I travel a lot.

Got a ride from Niagara Falls to Toronto Pearson airport worst experience ever, first driver asked if wanted to go on the toll road we said no but took the road aways. Then my wife forgot her cell phone in the vehicle but long store short the driver charged us $150 cash to come back to give us her cell phone, all while we were being told from HR that they will pay him for the return item as well
Will never use this service again

I wanted to have my account and data deleted, but could not do so on the app. The option is on the app but it does not work. I talked to an agent on the chat function on the app, but he said he could not help me. He told me he will transfer me to a specialist who can help me. I was on hold for more than two hours with no further help or assistance from Lyft. I never used them for any rides nor was I ever a driver for them. I feel that they stole my information (personal, banking, credit cards etc.) and selling it to 3rd parties. I will now report them to BBB, the police and the government department that has authority over them. I can never recommend Lyft to anyone.

LYFT owes me $15 USD!

Took two rides with lift (one in Feb., one in March 2026). I frequently receive email discounts (one was a max. of $10, one a max. of $5). Both times the discount was selected but not applied for the ride. There seems to be no way to get this discount applied, either thru LYFT HELP or the original payment method used. Is this a LYFT Scam ?
LYFT is unapproachable and unattainable for this service. I've tried five different phone numbers-all useless (631-201-LYFT, 415-230-2905, 855-865-9553, 844-554-1297, 415-767-5968).

I'd give a zero if I could

I'd give a zero if I could. The driver accused me of leaving a liquid mess in her car. Something I never did. I had no food or drink on me. Lyft charges me 75$ for the drivers cleaning cost. They would not listen to me. When I said I had no food or drink. They said they stand behind the drivers picture submitted. I'm responsible for the charge. I filed a fraud claim with PayPal. Telling my side of things and submitting my proof I was not in the wrong. PayPal got me a refund. Won't be using Lyft anymore.

Without telling me they charged me $20 to return a phone I left in the car after I notified the guy within five minutes. It was an eight dollar ride and they charged me 20 just to bring back my phone and I gave the guy $10 cash for bringing it back. No one said anything about a $20 charge. I’m on a fixed income and because it overdrafted my account I will not be able to eat for a week. This is a shit company.
