The fares are very low

The fares are very low. Customers pay a high price for the ride, but the drivers receive very little. Drivers only receive 45% of the total amount paid by the customer. They even withhold the tips that customers give to the drivers.

Put lyft out of business

I called Lyft because my car is running hot and I needed to get to the post office before 6:00 and it was 5:30. The driver said she was on her way she would be there in 4 minutes I'm standing in the parking lot of the place. I get a text saying I'm here.. and I'm like you're here you're here where because you're not here I'm right here and I don't see you now I thought I saw a gray Mazda so I asked her do you have a gray Mazda she says no it's not black mind you I did not say black I said Gray.. she said my truck is negro I said okay that's all I'm fine but where are you at because I'm trying to get to the post office before it closes so within that half hour time frame I never saw her and she never told me where she was she just kept saying I'm here I'm here I think she needs to be fired. Had it been as cold as it's been lately I probably would have gotten frostbite so now I'm thinking about suing lyft ..lyft needs to shut down. I see why they are being sued. And I took a picture of the parking lot and the driver was nowhere in the parking lot.

Aweful business practices

Lyft is the absolute worst service ever, got a ride home from my daughters birthday, and somehow I didn’t understand how the app works and asked for a hand from the driver and she put a tip in for herself and then Lyft charged me separately for the tip then argued with me about it and never returned the stolen tip and continued the second tip charge adding it to the ride price, fortunately I screenshot the original charge before they changed it STAY AWAY FROM LYFT THEY’RE SCETCHY

Worst company in the world

Worst company in the world. Zero customer service. Circular Kafkaesque support systems. They make it impossible to delete data or cancel your account. Totally untrustworthy and unresponsive. Not recommended even if you are stranded late at night. Lyft personifies the enshitification of customer support. Why even be in business if you hate your customers so much ?

Horrible and unresponsive Customer support.

Their customer service is horrible and unresponsive.
I was cheated by a driver who has figured out a way to use their platform to scam customers by canceling a pre-booked ride at the last moment and then waiting nearby for the customer to request another on-demand ride (which costs much more).
I have been trying to get a resolution from Lyft and they just don't respond.

First and last time

Well on their app it had first time riders recieve 50% off i applied promo booked a ride but was still charged full price i reached out to customer service explained everything, after looking he said I should have recieved the discount and keep check your bank normally 7-10 business days still nothing so reach back out to lack of customer service and they no said that they cant give me the first time rider discount because ive already used lyft I have used lyft 1 time that was my first so I should be getting discount. Beware this company doesn't honor its own promotions, and trying to communicate with customer service is next to impossible because they cant comprehend a 1 word sentence and frankly ive had more intelligent responses with drywall.

Bad Experience

Entered destination on the Lyft App and the price was about $7.00. I then had to run back to my condo. When I returned and requested the ride again, it was $14.00. WHAT A SCAM. Used Uber instead!!!!!

Extremely poor customer service

Extremely poor customer service

I had an incident where the driver was 100% at fault and caused injury. Lyft’s customer service, after multiple attempts and escalations, settled on refunding my nominal short trip ride. Surprised this company is still in operation with the astounding level of incompetence and how long term loyal customers are treated. Do not risk it.

Plain bad company and their policy's suck

Worst driver., my business phone slipped out of my jacket pocket.,so what does the driver do? He proceeded to answer my calls. I lost a new client, she thought she was being scammed when I didn't answer her calls to confirm I'd be there to clean her house for 3 pm. Instead some man who couldn't understand her nor could she understand him was answering I lost a $900.00 cleaning job with a weekly upkeep for 150$ not very professional. Oh then he tells me when I get ahold of him by calling my phone to see where it is. He tells me 20$ or no phone. Fyi Lyft. Your policy doesn't trump the law.. theft is theft. And now I've deleted the app. Spending 60$ a day on back and forth Lyfts isn't enough y'all gotta try and keep my property ?? Smh

Unhinged driver threw disabled, half-blind granny out of his car

I am a 71-year old, medically fragile, half blind, disabled woman that uses a wheelchair or a walker. The driver Matthew that picked me up at the doctor's office looked like he crawled out of a bag of rags; entirely disheveled in appearance, unshaven and untrimmed. I could tell immediately he might be a problem because when I expressed doubt that he could fit my walker into his trunk, he swaggered and said it would be fine because he could "fit 5 dead bodies in my trunk." I said, "let's not," feeling a bit creeped out by his analogy. When it became apparent that he was wrong and he could not fit it in his trunk, he seemed unusually angry, simply because he had been wrong. But that was nothing compared to what he did later. I did my best to present a light and happy demeanor, and expressed how glad I was that he had figured out how to squeeze the big walker into the back seat instead of the trunk. I blamed everything on the company because we had asked for an SUV. He moved a dirty canvas bag from the front passenger seat, jacked up his loud rock music and we were on our way. I had a terrible headache, as I had fasted all day and I really wanted to ask him to turn off the darn radio but he was so hostile I was afraid to ask him to turn it off but I DID have to ask him if he would please wear a mask because I am medically fragile, as I am between caregivers to care for me if I should get sick. He went into a cold fury when I offered him the cellophane-sealed N95 mask. I was already wearing one myself. He refused to wear it, saying, "I'm not going to do that." I asked him, "aren't you required to wear one if I ask?" and he answered "no," which surprised me, so I decided to call my insurance company who arranged the ride to see if they could provide a different one. I didn't know how I was going to manage that, since we were already in traffic. I was trying to place a call but the music was blaring, and I am blind in one eye and was having trouble reading the screen, especially since his driving was erratic. He was careening back and forth and haranguing me loudly, despite my having asked him not to talk to me so I could make a call. When I opened my phone to call my insurance company to see if I could get a different ride, he got angrier and angrier. He kept saying, "If you want to get out I will pull over right here!" I told him, no I just want to make this phone call. He had his rock music blaring and it was hard to think. He kept trying to interrupt my ability to make a call by talking at me and I asked him to stop talking to me so I could make my phone call. He refused. He bragged that he had a 5 star rating, and I told him I would not be giving him 5 stars. He gunned the engine, screamed into an abandoned parking lot near an overpass in a bad section of town and started yelling at me to get out of his car, using awful language. I was slow getting out of the car because I am disabled and in shock so he kept yelling at me. There were two witnesses that came out from a building at the back of the lot. I finally got out of the car, with no help from him, and stumbled over to my walker where he had thrown it to the pavement, then he yelled at me and hurled a filthy name at me while he got into his car and fled the scene. Fortunately, although the parking lot was mostly abandoned, two women witnessed this alarming event. The two of them came over to me and encouraged me to come inside the building because it was a very unsafe part of town. They kept looking from side to side, as if expecting someone to drive up and attack us. God bless those two ladies! I was in shock and in tears and they walked me slowly to the building at the back of the lot and locked the door behind us. By the time they had gotten to me, I had already called my friend to come pick me up and give me a ride from the other side of town. She has a sick husband and a mother in the hospital and she's a teacher at the church I used to attend, so it was a miracle she was available, God bless her. Later I noticed that driver Matthew had CANCELLED the ride so I could not review him for what he did. I imagine he does that whenever a ride goes badly. They call it "hiding" the ride. They pretend it has been cancelled and that they did not have you in their car. That's probably how he keeps his ratings up. Anyway, it was a terribly traumatic event. When a man brutalizes a disabled, half-blind old woman, it is a shameful thing. I have asked all my friends to pray for any women, disabled, or elderly person who might take a ride with him in future.

Riders Have No Recourse When Scheduled Driver Cancels

I'm a frequent Lyft rider and (pre)SCHEDULED a ride this morning, which establishes a set fare. App said driver was waiting, but he'd cancelled and was nowhere in sight. No replacement was sent. I requested another ride, and the fare was $20 higher. I expected the difference refunded (at minimum), but as others report, the canned responses and lack of comprehension by the agents is stunning. The company has no regard for its riders. If there were a no star option, I'd choose it.

I ordered a taxi

I ordered a taxi, but the driver arrived at a different location, far away from me. When I called the taxi driver and told him to come to the place where I was waiting, he answered me rudely. He never came. The company tried to withhold payment from me without even finding out where the taxi driver had gone. I ordered another taxi, but they sent the same driver back, and he didn't come a second time. As a result, I didn't go to work and suffered emotional distress.

So I've been using Lyft for a while…

So I've been using Lyft for a while now. Today I took a ride after work and when I got in the car my soup was spilling a but from my bag( clear soup) the driver took a picture of it and was super rude to me. I told him i will go inside and get something to wipe it up, so I did. A half hour later l, I received an email of a damage charge for 75 Dollars and that I won't be able to use this service till I pay it. I have been overcharged lots with this service and now this is my last straw with this company. I am done.

Usually i have no problem with them but…

Usually i have no problem with them but yesterday i called for a ride and was quoted 9 and change. I got home and was charged 12 plus’s the 3 dollar tip I left. I went on the app to dispute charges and they said the price quoted was the correct price. I escalated it and all they gave me was 5 dollars off my next ride. I’m never using them again

What a pathetic, deceiving company

What a pathetic, deceiving, petty company. I ordered the more expensive "extra comfort" ride, which offers larger cars, and get a small Hyundai Kona which could barely qualify as Standard. They supposed guarantee your satisfaction. When I get to customer service to make the guarantee valid, I get blown off after cycling though seven different persons -six of them supposedly "supervisors"-over one and a half hours, each one having to "escalate" the issue. An ode to uselessness, their "Customer Service" is clearly geared towards wearing off customers and get nothing resolved. Truly disgusting!
