Excited to find something new...

Excited to find something new on the shelf here in Australia. How exciting, Scottish crisps! Unfortunately bland and horrible texture. Felt like I was chewing a mouthful of cardboard. To be fair I tried a couple of flavours (Prawn Cocktail, Mature Cheddar) and neither was good. How does this make it past the quality department? You need to make some big changes.

Worst crisps ever

Bought Bigger Pack of "Pickled Onion" in Lidl today - I looked specifically for crisps that don't have or have very little vinegar in them. And what am I tasting? The strongest ever taste of vinegar I have ever experienced! And not a hint of any onion, not speaking about "pickled onion"! What? Has your production line gone amok? Or is it some sort of prank/joke that you put hell-knows-what in the packages? Are there any quality checks? Have you ever tasted your own products??!
Tomorrow I'm going to return the pack back to Lidl and complain to them.

Texture and potato quality good but lacking in flavour

Texture isn’t bad .. like a thicker crisp but not unpleasantly rock hard like kettle chips. A nice crunch! Decent size slices. I had no black bits. But the big let down is that the flavour is really lacking. We tried all 3 Christmas flavours.. Turkey and Stuffing, Pigs in Blankets and Boxing Day Curry. The smell is great for each when you open the bag.. but when you eat them, the flavour is really weak and much weaker than other brands. If they just added more seasoning, the crisps would be much nicer!

Just awful

Just awful. Texture like cardboard which makes you think they are out of date, which means no matter how hungry I am I just can't eat. I just don't understand how they passed any quality check. What is the strange chemical taste, that's not natural. Please do better Mackies. Scottish company with all our fabulous products, please step up!

Ugly crisps

Simply the ugliest crisps I have ever had. So many black and ugly pieces that I gave up eating them as too depressing.

Just bought a ‘bigger bag ‘ (250gram)…

Just bought a ‘bigger bag ‘ (250gram) of salted crisps from Lidl . £1.49 … I opened them to find prob about 2-3 small bags worth of crisps inside !!! So I weighed them … low and behold only weighed 118gram …. What the heck ??? So I’ve emailed them to complain.. waiting for at least an explanation plus apology .. should I inform trading standards ?? What a rip off .

Dreadful crisps

Dreadful crisps. The first one I attempted to eat was so unpleasant I had to “spit it out”, not literarily. Tasted like “cats wee”. Cannot believe these are actually on sale. Flavour was supposed to be Prawn Cocktail.

Mackies Costco multi-pack

Like most reviews here, their potato chips are not good.
I bought these in Japan, a country which doesn’t have many varied flavors.
I have tried UK crisps many times so I know how strong the flavors should be.
Firstly, after I opened the outer bag I saw that at least one of the mini bags was not sealed and the chips inside were very stale.
The sealed bags didn’t taste very fresh either.
The plain flavor was very tasteless, like salted crispy fried cardboard.
The prawn cocktail flavor was weird and nothing like top brand Walkers.
Sweet Chili was OK and I haven’t tried the others yet.

These are absolutely my favourite…

These are absolutely my favourite crisps. I do not like highly flavoured ones of any make. The plain ones taste very good to me and I do not at all mind the skins etc. I like the ridge cut ones best and the cheese and onion are flavoured without assaulting the palate as so many flavours and makes do.

I bought a packet of plain salted…

I bought a packet of plain salted mackie's crisps from Lidl on opening the packet virtually every crisp inside had bad black staining on them I tried a couple and they were virtually tasteless and very dry texture I sent an email to Maccies complaining about this and they said that they had a problem in production why the devil they kept producing these is anybody's guess they promised to send me a voucher to compensate me which after 2-weeks has never arrived obviously a very poor company and I will not be buying any of their products in future

Truly horrible

Truly horrible. The 1 star reviews are correct. I had seen these in the shop and thought I'd try. Never again.
They taste nothing like salt and vinegar (my preference) and the texture is very synthetic. Nothing like a good crisp should be. Lesson learnt!
