This marks my debut in writing a restaurant review, prompted by an unexpectedly dreadful dining experience! Last night, I visited Mammamia Pizzeria in Jericho, which was bustling with energy. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the manager was incredibly charming, managing a hectic evening. Unfortunately, the pizzas were among the worst we've encountered. My daughter opted for a gluten-free crust, but when it arrived, the toppings, including onions and egg, were uncooked. She requested it to be reheated to cook the toppings, but we were informed that gluten-free bases don't withstand high temperatures well. When it returned, it was overly hard. My Americano pizza, not gluten-free, was also undercooked in the center with raw toppings. After going back into the oven, it was so hard it couldn't be eaten. It was disappointing, especially after the manager kindly tried to have them reheated. There was a lack of flavor complexity, missing the zing of pepper or Parmesan, and an overwhelming saltiness that did not sit well. The bill, including one starter, a coffee, and a coke, totaled £46! When our waitress inquired, How was the pizza? I candidly replied, Honestly, not the best, to which she responded, Well, you picked a greasy one. I don't think she quite understood!

What's the excuse? A bad pizza at a pizza restaurant!!!

Just to say that this is the first revue I've given a restaurant but was inspired to do so by the awful food! Went to Mammamia Pizzeria in Jericho last night, the restaurant was super-busy and very vibey, the manager LOVELY ( and probably firefighting a busy night) however the pizza's were probably the worst we've ever had. My daughter had a gluten free base - when it arrived, the toppings were not cooked, onions, egg etc, she asked if it could be heated enough to cook the top, and was told that gluten free bases can't take the same level of heat, fair, but to cook the toppings, it was returned rock hard. Mine, an Americano, not gluten free was uncooked in the middle, toppings not cooked - and when popped back in the oven was returned so hard it was inedible. It was such a shame, the manager was very kind to get the pizzas reheated but where was the grate of pepper or Parmesan? No complex flavour, no herbs, just an excess of saltiness that was quite unpleasant. Plus one starter, a coffee and a coke between us, this came to £46!!

When our waitress asked 'how was the pizza?' I said 'honestly not the best' to which she replied ' well. you chose a greasy one'. I don't think she got it!
