Good marketing service and kept informed throughout sale process

We recently purchased a house which was marketed by Manning Stainton. Our experience was mixed. The main negative was that they were incredibly difficult to get hold of, whether it was to arrange a viewing of a property, place an offer on a property, or discuss the ongoing purchase of a property. More often than not, any call to Manning Stainton required us to leave a voicemail and wait for a call back, which isn't ideal when buying, and I can imagine is far from ideal when selling.

A further negative was that the pictures of the property really didn't do it justice. We didn't really bat an eyelid at the house we ended up buying until we'd looked at plenty of others that appeared far better. Most other estate agents seem to make use of professional photographers, whereas with Manning Stainton it seems most property's photographs are taken on a mobile phone and often don't do a particularly good job of showcasing the best features.

The positive though (and the reason for all of the three stars awarded) is Ann, who was our point of contact once our offer was accepted. Ann did a wonderful job of keeping us updated as to progress, chasing down any enquiries we had, and managing our relationship with the seller to ensure that things progressed as smoothly as possible. If the rest of Manning Stainton's service was to Ann's standards, it would have been a far more positive review!

We were kept informed throughout the sale .

I felt treated like someone on a conveyer belt, not important, like buying a pair of shoes online for 310k (over a quarter million). There was no meeting, no working relationship and no understanding of my needs. The price reduction was due to the home buyer survery, nothing to do with the property negotiator. They could have been more transparent about the electrical rewiring needed for the property adn also the gas situation to make it safe before moving in. The property was unclean. The oven, grill, extractor fan, pantry area, kitchen cupboards and draws were in a disgusting state. Estate Agents should set minimum standards selling properties where possible. The vendor should have paid to have the property professionally cleaned and I know this could have been done. This property was not in a 'moving in' condition when it could have easily been avoided. I would not recommend anyone doing business with MS.

Would highly recommend Manning Stainton to sell your property. We bought a property through them and I was really impressed with their professionalism. All their staff are really lovely and friendly and Georgie looked after us throughout the purchase, keeping us in the loop and always on hand to answer any questions and queries. Nothing was too much trouble. This is exactly the kind of service I would want from an Estate Agent selling my property.

Georgie took the time to understand what me and my partners needs were and found appropriate properties. She had excellent responsiveness and flexibility. Very knowledgeable and always answered any queries I had within such a short time, nothing was ever too much for her. Always went above and beyond and I couldn’t recommend Georgie or Manning Stainton enough!

I chose Manning Staintons as I had dealings with them in the past, I found them very good, nothing has changed. Love this estate agents, Wakefield branch very friendly and helpful. When we received an offer and we accepted, our sale was passed over to a move manager. May I just add here our sale from start to finish was 8 months but that was due to delays at bottom of chain. Our move manager was Yvonne, wow, what a lady. Very polite, professional, approachable and easy to talk to, she knew what to say to me to pick me up from feeling frustrated and upset with all the delays and nearly throwing the towel in, she was always at the end of the phone or called me back, she had loads of patience and needed it dealing with me, but she never said a wrong word. I was constantly chasing but we got there in the end. So a thank you to manning staintons but most of all a big big thank you to Yvonne. I will miss our chats.

A very pleasant sales negotiator and a very good house moving manager who was always helpful.

We bought a house that were selling with Manning Stainton. The guys were great especially Charlotte Poutney our move manager who was fantastic and helped us every step of the way. She went above and beyond for us and we can’t thank her enough.

I found Manning Stainton very professional in their approach, good at keeping in touch, and I especially liked the use of an intermediary between offer and completion which eased the progress of the sale.
Although the first sale fell through, MS were quick to find another buyer and the sale has now been completed smoothly.

It was very easy to choose Manning Stanton to sell our house. All the staff at the Wakefield branch couldn't do enough help you. The decision was made when we were looking at other houses, l would say they went the extra mile to help and fit a viewing in, where the other estate agents didn't give the same service.
