The Ashbury Golf Hotel

The site quite rightly boasts of 5 Star facilities at this 3 Star Hotel which is the sister to the Manor Hotel, a short drive away. There are 5 x 18 hole golf courses on site and an abundance of indoor sports facilities open to all guests, There are more than a dozen of them Including 10 pin Bowling and Snooker as well as a Heated indoor Swimming Pool and a large Hydro spa. These cannot be faulted, neither can the quantity and the quality of the food. Three splendid wholesome meals per day are there for the eating.
When it comes to accommodation, the rooms, with en-suite, are on the small side but adequate and well serviced. The Hotel is let down by the shabbiness of the public areas which are in need of a complete refurbishment, which no doubt, is the reason it does not rate higher than the 3 AA stars awarded.
We stayed for 4 days in October/November but experienced a huge influx of weekend groups which changed the usually quiet large bar area into a deafening crescendo of loud voices. We had to abandon our comfy arm chairs to another room to hear ourselves speak.

So, for value for money, it is very good but I would recommend going off peak season and leave before the week ends.
