Excellent advice and customer service from start to finish, both for me as a landlord, but also for my new tenant. Very helpful pre purchase advice on local market rents. Good initial market assessment, backed up by quick responsive service. A good company to deal with!

We recently dealt with Martin & Co regarding a rental property and unfortunately had a disappointing experience.

Key information about the property — including an additional £150 per month electricity charge due to a shared commercial supply — was not disclosed upfront in the advert or during the initial viewing. This only came to light after we had paid the holding deposit and begun the application process.
The property advert was only updated after we challenged the missing information but it was showing only £100 per month, not £150 that they were going to charge us.

We withdrew from the application due to the lack of transparency and the failure to provide material information at the correct stage. While our holding deposit was refunded, the process caused unnecessary stress, delays, and wasted time.

I hope the branch improves its communication and ensures all material information is provided upfront to avoid similar issues for future applicants.

I highly recommend Martin & Co as an excellent letting agent. I have been using them since 2017, and they have looked after my property exceptionally well. I recently visited my property and was impressed to find it maintained to a very high standard, just as when I first let it.

Extremely unhelpful, unfriendly, and unaccommodating staff. The whole experience made it feel as though we were asking for something unreasonable rather than simply trying to arrange a viewing. Even though we would ultimately be paying their charges and fees, they treat us as if we were expecting something for free. There was little to no flexibility or willingness to make reasonable adjustments. Most of the time, staff were either unavailable, away from their desk, or on annual leave. Overall, a very disappointing and frustrating experience. I do not recommend this service.

Rented a house through this company and when I left the property I was charged for random things including … removal of a bag of gravel behind the shed (there when I moved in) and clearing the gutters. ( there were birds nesting in the gutter when I moved in!) I would never rent through them again.
