Martin & Co St Albans Reviews 

I was a tenant in a property managed by Martin & Co St Albans. From my perspective, they did an excellent job. The property came with a lot of issues but Sarah worked with us pleasantly and professionally to resolve them all in the end. I would feel confident renting through them again, or using them to manage a property for me.

Around a year has passed, and Martin and Co St Albans have yet to address the issues raised, which prevent us from accessing our property for maintenance amongst many other issues. This situation clearly demonstrates and substantiates their dismissive attitude towards genuine concerns. Their approach is utterly unprofessional, preferring to neglect these issues in the hope that they will simply disappear.

This company has harassed me during 5 years. They tried to evict me by all means including trying to kill me. They eventually evicted me without serving any notice and stole for 3 millions pounds of my belongings, leaving me homeless for no reason knowing I am an old woman living on her own with a physical disability. This company should be avoided at all cost by anyone who respect Human Rights. I have not met one person in this company during the last 5 years that were respecting them. They play mind games with tenants. Protect Human Rights and stop giving money to this company, you will regret it at some point and you will regret the money given to them and they will make sure you will lose more! They came for instance several times to damage the property and the garden and asked me to pay for the damages they have done! These people should be in prison or be left homeless the same way they manipulate to make good tenants with no fault tenancies become homeless! This company deserves nothing more than bankruptcy for all the criminal offences they made to me during 5 years in my tenancy!

It's rather easy to get 5 star reviews when there are no issues to deal with. However, a company, in my opinion, is judged on how well they deal with problems and Martin and Co have demonstrated to be shockingly bad. Martin and Co St Albans, have incredibly unhelpful staff that stop replying to emails with genuine issues, with clear evidence with concerns about how their tenants are behaving and treating property which directly affect neighbours and is clearly breaking the terms of the lease. We communicated well over 3 months ago and requested that the debris and obstructions be removed from around the rear of our property, to enable us access to our first floor property. The tenant, who martin and Co placed in the property have admitted in writing that they are responsible for the tenants conduct, to ensure and communicate they abide by the terms and conditions of the agreement and also stated they would escalate matters if the tenant was unwilling to meet with us and letting agent to remedy it, yet the tenant was unwilling and martin and co have gone back on their word and ignored our latest email. it’s being treated like a dump, there are discarded belongings and furniture along with a large plastic shed (which could have been located anywhere else in the garden, other than directly below) blocking access to our first floor property, for maintenance etc. As a result, we haven't been able to get our windows cleaned, the sky engineer cannot access the dish. Whatever the circumstances may be, it isn't appropriate to cause neighbouring properties an inconvenience when the provisions set out in the lease as well as the issue being raised consistently for over 3 months! Our latest email has been completely ignored and sums up how they approach issues when they arise. Martin and Co St Albans - Lack integrity, unprofessional and unhelpful. Avoid at all costs. My partner and I have been renting through Martin and Co St Albans for just over two years and couldn’t recommend them enough! They were very thorough when taking us through the contract, unlike what we have experienced in the past from any other agent. A true family operated business that puts both their landlords and tenants first, Martin and Co St Albans went above and beyond our expectations throughout our time renting with them and we have only left due to emigrating.
