Absorbent mat does not absorb. *Edited

Bought an entrance mat for my business. Having read all the descriptions of each one, I went for the Absorbent Door Mat (004) it says it's provided maximum absorbency and holds 4.5l of water per sq m. We recessed in into the floor. The area was a trapezium shape, so needed to cut it to fit. Looked really smart when down. The days went by, and noticed alot of footprints coming onto the floor when rainy, even after people wiping their feet. This mat does nothing. It's very rough, more so that a tuft pile, so it doesn't dry your feet. I contacted the company explaining this, and if they could offer any advice as to why it wouldn't be doing as it says. Never got a reply. Spent £155 on a mat that does not work. Pointless having it. And the fact that they just ignored me shows the aftersales isn't what it should be. As long as they got their sale, it doesn't really matter if it's not fit for purpose.

Mats Nationwide reached out to me, and they said they had not got an email from me, and if they had, they would have rectified any issues. That being said, they very kindly offered to replace the mat with another. The original mat I got is more for dirt, rather than soaking up water. If getting dirt/grit off your shoes is priority, then go for that mat, it does look very smart. But if you are looking for a more absorbent mat, Id get one that has a fluffier pile.

I have checked our Trust Pilot internal system and strangely your review has no order number attached to it, which is very strange as all reviews are linked to an order? I have also ran a full search on your name and product through our internal email system and cant find any email flagging an issue with this product or under your name?
We are a family business, trading since 2008, and pride ourselves on outstanding levels of customer service and would never take the approach that you suggest 'that as long as we get a sale that's all that matters'.
We offer a 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed on all our mats and if we had received an email with a product issue like you suggest, we would have of course rectified immediately, replacing the mat or offering a full refund. This level of 'excellent' five star service is reflected in our five star trust pilot review rating.
