Terrible warranty
I thought i was upgrading from Costa's poor warranty to a much superior one. Don't believe for 1 second they have a better warranty, they don't!!!My lens had scratching on them after just 1 month of owning them. They are charging me $95 to replace a lense. In the future I won't spend that kind of money again.

I have always had great service from the Maui Jim team. One of the arms broke off my MJ Sports, not only did they repair (12 pound processing fee) but polished the lens and generally made them literally as good as new. I am beyond impressed. Turned around in less than 7 days.
Free of charge MJ sent me new nose…
Free of charge, MJ sent me new nose pads. Never ever had any problems with loose screws or whatsoever. Not with MJ or any other brand. The quality of their lenses are unmatched. If I would be uncarefull and let them drop, that would be accountable to no other but me.
I have a local Kine model
I have a local Kine model. I sent for repair within the two year frame warranty because the nose pad rubber was peeling, same problem for the rubber at the end point of the frame close to the ears. Also, one of the glasses broke (maybe because of the pressure from my laptop in the bag?). The warranty is void for glass damage. For the rubber the replacement was free, but what bothers me is that Maui jim supervisor in Canada said this is due to the sun light, which is ridiculous, as the product is supposes to protect me from the sun so of course it is exposed to the sun. Second processing fees and shipping is 15 dollars+taxes for the return and I paid around 20 dollars for the sending with Canada post. The glass replacement costed 105 dollars +tax. I find this too expensive for a frame that doesn't last so long. It is my last purchase from Maui Jim, too disapointed.

Lenses ok but they come wrapped in 3 layers of single use un-recyclable plastic. Won’t be buying again
They kept them!
I bought 2 pairs of Maui’s one was around $400. A few months later it slipped off my face and the lens broke on one, the second one just has a small scratch. When I sent it to the company to fix they told me that these styles were discontinued and that they couldn’t fix them… ok, but the worst part is that they kept the glasses and didn’t return them. I was out over $500 with nothing.
Too expensive, very poor quality
I bought a pair of Lighthouse sunglasses for $200 in June 2025, and the following month, the right temple broke on its own when I opened them. I sent them in for repair, but they took over 15 days to reply, telling me they didn't have the part and that I would have to wait an inordinate amount of time. I don't recommend anyone buy those sunglasses; they're super expensive and of very poor quality.
Deeply Disappointed
I had a beautiful pair of tortoise shell sunglasses. I got up shortly after buying and noticed that the left eye lens had what I would call two hairline fractures. I contacted this repair service, paid $104 and sent in the glasses. Three days after receiving the “fixed” eyewear, I went to wear them and they two cracks similar to what I’d asked to be repaired. They were now worthless and instead of going through the rig amoral of sending them back a second time, I threw them in the trash—right where my opinion of Maui Jim is at this point.

I bought my first Maui Jim's in the 1990's they really are the only sun glasses for driving, i have over the years bought another 2 pairs. a couple of weeks ago the lens go cracked, i emailed and asked if they could be repaired. i was informed by a very helpfull Julie they style had stopped production in 1999. but if i returned them i would get a discount on a new pair, I wish to add this level of service is second to none GREAT SERVICE, i will state again once you have used Mauijim's for driving you will not use any other sun glasses. Many thanks Maujim;s all staff have been a credit to you

Maui Jim (UK) Ltd
Maui Jim (UK) Ltd
I recently brought two pairs of sunglasses with broken arms to Maui Jim’s repair service in Guildford UK. I’ve had both broken pairs for some time but never got round to having them fixed. They greeted me very politely, took my glasses, repaired them within 15 mins, and the service was free! Excellent service and they have secured me as a life-long loyal Maui Jim sunglasses customer.
Don’t buy Maui Jim
Don’t buy Maui Jim. Been customer for years & after buying $300 glasses 3 days ago ,I bent over at the pool, they fell off and both lenses (mirrored orange/red) scratched & took off partial mirroring. Customer support offered me paying $75 for repair. No longer great quality.

I fell in love with a beautiful pair of non-prescription Jim Maui sunglasses… Not sure of the model number? But it was the clear frames and a reddish coating on the lens… Cost almost 300… After a month the screw came out… And my lens fell to the ground getting scratched… While trying to retrieve the lens, my glasses fell again creating a new scratch on the other lens… I find the lenses are pretty much useless and even though they say they are scratch resistant they are not I regret buying them I have since went to another model the Ray-Ban’s which own Jim Maui… they offered support but I still had to pay to send in the glasses, ridiculous.. just do better… there are better brands out there… I go out of my way to tell everybody I know not to buy these glasses
MJ-405-10…
I've owned a pair of the MJ-405-10 sunglasses since 2015. I recently purchased a pair of MJ-B407-130 with the blue lenses. In a word, "Badass" sunglasses.
I have other brands such as RayBan, but hands down, I love Maui Jim!
Keep making us look coooool!
Don’t last
The lenses are great at first but the coating starts to come off the lenses after 2-3 months. Not acceptable for a supposed high end product at that price
Very poor quality
I bought the Maui Jim Sunglasses Pulama for just under €250. After three weeks, the left arm fell off—the screw had simply come loose. The store where I bought them kindly exchanged them. The replacement worked fine for two months, but then another screw came out, making the sunglasses unusable again. The store is no longer willing to help me. Stay away from these poor quality sunglasses.
Poor quality for some models.
Purchased Hookipa. Blue - non pescription. November 2024. Used it two - three times. Used only recommended tools for cleaning. In March 2025 discovered three little lens scratches.
Warrenty just to send and evaluate would cost almost $40. This is $250 glasses.
I wrote a review somewhat negative on their web site, and they never published.
Broke one of the temples on my MJ
Broke one of the temples on my MJ, our of warrenty but MJ UK replaced with a £12 fee. great sunglasses, second pair MJ user for 12 year plus
Product quality has fallen
Have always loved my Maui Jim prescription sunglasses and currently on my third pair. Never had any issue with previous two pairs and only replaced them because my prescription changed over the years.
My current pair, which are 3 years old have been carefully treated in exactly the same way as previous pairs, have a serious issue with the coating wearing off the lens. This badly affects both the look and effectiveness of the glasses.
Sent glasses back to Maui Jim through vendor and their response was that glasses were out of warranty and that damage must be chemical due to suncream or glass cleaners.
This is simply untrue and optical technicians who have examined the glasses have rubbished this explanation.
Manufacturing standards has simply fallen and lens are no longer a premium product...although charging a premium price.
Interested to see some other posts here highlighting exactly the same issue.
