So sad what happened to MediaTemple. I was so impressed with them for years. I used them for more than a decade. Then they sold out to GoDaddy and the service went straight to hell. I can't wait to move all of my accounts away from this company. I'm sure the owners got a nice payday out of the deal, but their loyal customers got the shaft. Stay well away from this company. GoDaddy has flat out stolen from me, and they should be avoided at all costs. Goodbye Mediatemple. I'll miss the stellar service I used to get from you guys. :(

I've been a Media Temple customer for nearly 20 years. At first they had great performance and customer service but over the past 2+ years they have failed me in several ways. At some point they deleted files and by the time I discovered what they had done my backups were of no use. When I contacted them they blamed it on a migration of data. The final straw was when they failed to block hackers from taking over my sites and the corruption of data. They then said that in order to prevent this from happening again that I would have to pay them extra to do what they should have been doing.
The customer service is the worst. They used to have a ticket service and you'd get a response back in hours but that turned into days and then they took away that option. I spent hours on the phone waiting on hold to speak with someone only to be told that it was my fault and that I was responsible for my files. They have a chat service but even there I waited hours without any response.
There's plenty of hosting companies with more services for less money. Media Temple should be avoided.

I used to like Mediatemple. The people are who bought it sure know how to mess up a company. Worst hosting and support now. Absolutely terrible
I would give 0 stars if I could. I've been with MediaTemple for well over a decade and since the switch to no tech support, it's a nightmare. They upped the prices a ton and the actual service tanked. They've lost my business effectively immediately. If you hope to get tech support, expect a chatbot to be just about the only option. Seriously... a chatbot is the only thing that ever responds or answers the phone. Impossible to get a real human. And the social team on twitter was like, sorry, we can't actually help in real issues. I've escalated through twitter with numerous companies with great success. To have a company like MT offer no solutions or way to escalate to a human even through Twitter is beyond the pale. Gone forever from MT and never looking back.
The Media Temple managers have gone criminal. We have been a customer for almost 20 years and when the announced their move to GoDaddy they dropped all support. The server all our websites are on is also hosting known spammers, so the whole block of domains are blacklisted and we cannot get any mail delivered from any or our domains. We had to buy seperate Microsoft 365 emails. Their customer service is non existent, they have put our’s and our client's businesses in jeopardy. We are frantically searching for a replacement host and trying to figure out how we can transfer the websites, emails, all the settings and a full Plesk setup to a new company. Huge time loss! Huge expense! Huge liability! They should be sued. These people are criminals.
I wish i could give a zero.
Lame seevice, they became GoDaddy and in less than a day i have a server that timesout, does not respond, is frankly useless.
Such a shame, ever since they announced their acquisition by GoDaddy back in 2013 everything just started to go downhill and fast. I've been an extremely happy customer for more than 13 years and didn't want to have to leave MediaTemple. But I've been in an uphill battle with them ever since the switch, issues with uptime and their email service, recently they switched their once very reliable Grid-Service to cPanel hosting and everything just has been a huge headache. I refuse to be a GoDaddy customer since they are the reason why MediaTemple has lost its touch and became just another irresponsible with incompetent service. Please, if you are shopping for hosting to not use GoDaddy, terrible customer service with 3rd party call centers with that are no use. Choose someone else, there are better services with better offers out there.
media Temple has lost all hope of customer service. they are migrating over to Go daddy and our sites have been down for 9 days and we cannot reach customer service by phone or their chat. My guess is financial problems and techincal. Go to godaddy directly and by pass this mess if your are starting a new site. We have waited on chat and calls for up to 6 hours a day with no response and no way to get our site back. I have been with Media Temple for a decade and had no problems with our 3 sites, until the new switch over in which they have lost so many sites in the migration and no longer have customer service or the ability to file a service note, that has also been disabled. There a quite a few service options now missing from their offer page, which leads me to believe they are now offshore for operators who have no idea in the tech dept.
If I could give negative reviews these guys would get -10 stars. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED TECH SUPPORT THIS BAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! DON'T KNOW HOW THESE GUYS STAY IN BUSINESS AND I WILL BE MOVING MY CLIENTS OFF OF THESE JOKERS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THAT'S IF I CAN EVER GET BACK INTO MY SITES AT ALL! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THESE GUYS AS POSSIBLE!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! been in IT for over 25 years and have never dealt with a company like Mediatemple... they charge you for their products but they dont support anything!!! their website chat doesn't work... the txt-back module that they advertise while on-hold doesn't work... and every single time i have called them, 45+ mins of wait time.. no joke.. these guys are awful!!!!
I have been with this company for over 12 years I think. I'm not sure what has happened, but they've hiked up their prices by 65% and the customer service is beyond dreadful. The rudest and combative service. JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! There are lots of other hosting companies out there and these guys certainly don't deserve you money. I'm in the process of moving my 3 sites now.
After more than 14 years of being on MediaTemple I am finally making a move. They used to have great support. Now, practically non-existent. I've had tons of issues suddenly with email, can't get support...they started without any warning trying to charge automatically my credit card without my consent and I am now ready to leap away. VERY SAD after so many years of service that was good.
Media Temple is an awful company. They insist on billing my credit card without notice, and when the card expires, yhey shut down my website. Customer service is a joke. The recording says that the wait times are about 2 minutes, I waited more than 40 minutes (out of morbid curiosity) and still never received a response. Since being bought by Go Daddy, Media Pimple has crashed and burned. I reccomend that you find another company to host your website!!
Horrible customer service. I use A2 hosting and it's way way better. My client needed things done on her Media Temple server and it's ben next level hell to accomplish very basic things. Totally annoying and not worth it. Glad im moving her out of there.
Like others have commented, long time customer mostly because of exemplary and knowledgeable support. Since they sold out to GD has gone from bad to worse and now only has K-Mart rejects in support.
I purchased one of their more expensive hosting packages yesterday 20th July at 10:30am. I never received my welcome email despite chasing it twice. I'm now trying to close down an account that was never opened
Dreadful service.
Like many others who have written here about MT, I have been with them for over 10 years.
I was recently advise to change the type of hosting / server by MT and now for over four weeks I have had nothing but problems. Their telephone helpline used to be one of the best, now it is I believe, one of the worst. I have waiting for over an hour, the last time over two hours, without an answer. I have no idea how to get help as they do not answer either on Twitter and their ticket system takes over two weeks to get a reply!
I HAVE to change hosting company as it is no longer possible to stay with a company that no longer cares about their customers.
I've been a Media Temple customer for ten years. Their Grid service has got progressively worse over the last few years with my site regularly down for no reason and pretty much no support. On top of that the Grid service is slow and expensive. Time to look for a new provider.
Happy customer for over ten years. Only negative thing I have to say is that occasionally your website goes down, but don’t all… and they monitor/alert you to status. Good speed. Great support… who has many a time walked me through situations I was not prepared for when it wasn’t even their responsibility. No complaints.
Grid service is expensive and has deteriorated to the point of being functionless. My email through a hosted domain is blacklisted monthly in several different countries. They don't apologise and suggest I upgrade to a more expensive service. But I only have one website and a second domain and they are charging over £200 yearly for the service (which does not work). Bye then! I'm clearly not alone. Avoid.
