Medical City Dallas
As an Employee in L&D, I’m Deeply Disappointed
I’ve worked in the Labor & Delivery unit at Medical City for some time, and I can honestly say the experience has been disheartening. While the patients and families we serve deserve the best, the environment behind the scenes makes it incredibly difficult to provide that level of care.
Staffing is consistently inadequate, which puts both patients and nurses at risk. The Charger Nurses were talking negatively about patients in the hallways. Concerns brought to leadership often go ignored or are met with empty promises. There’s a clear lack of support for the patients and the overall morale is low because of it.
In addition, favoritism and poor communication run rampant. Some staff are overworked while others are given preferential treatment, leading to a toxic and unfair work culture. Many of us stay because we care about the moms and babies — not because of how we’re treated as professionals.
As a healthcare worker, it’s heartbreaking to see this kind of disregard for patients — especially from a facility that should know better. Sadly, I can’t recommend Medical City Dallas to anyone looking for competent, compassionate.
