Medical City Dallas

As an Employee in L&D, I’m Deeply Disappointed

I’ve worked in the Labor & Delivery unit at Medical City for some time, and I can honestly say the experience has been disheartening. While the patients and families we serve deserve the best, the environment behind the scenes makes it incredibly difficult to provide that level of care.

Staffing is consistently inadequate, which puts both patients and nurses at risk. The Charger Nurses were talking negatively about patients in the hallways. Concerns brought to leadership often go ignored or are met with empty promises. There’s a clear lack of support for the patients and the overall morale is low because of it.

In addition, favoritism and poor communication run rampant. Some staff are overworked while others are given preferential treatment, leading to a toxic and unfair work culture. Many of us stay because we care about the moms and babies — not because of how we’re treated as professionals.

As a healthcare worker, it’s heartbreaking to see this kind of disregard for patients — especially from a facility that should know better. Sadly, I can’t recommend Medical City Dallas to anyone looking for competent, compassionate.

Medical City Arlington Hospital, poor care and even worse patient customer service

I was seen at MCA for stitches to a laceration. My treatment there was the poorest care I have ever received in any medical setting. I was seen on a bed in the hallway where all of my private medical information was broadcast to others being seen in the same hallway. The person stitching up my finger seemed to have issues with administering pain-relieving drugs. I unfortunately felt every stitch. After the procedure, I saw my general physician to remove the stitches. This proved difficult as the stitches were sewn unusually deep and I had to come back a second time to dig into my skin to remove them all. I did attempt to speak with hospital administration about my concerns with the quality of care and then found out that my insurance and I were being charged for a full private room despite not being provided one. For months I have been going back and forth with the hospital trying to get this resolved. Unfortunately, the director of billing and the quality care managers are ignoring me. I have placed nearly a dozen phone calls to the patient care representative who is the only party caring enough to speak with me. Her requests to have administration contact me have also been ignored. I don't know which is more painful, the wound or having to deal with the lack of caring from this hospital after the fact. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
