I purchased Medical Guardian for my mother. She didn't use it as the 'necklace' was too bulky for her. I made all payments. After about 1 year, I cancelled the service, returned the merchandise and rec'd confirmation of merchandise return and cancellation. One year later, Medical Guardian is still bugging for a payment. The office staff is useless in resolving the issue. I would never use them again.

I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so other families can make an informed decision.
I purchased Medical Guardian to help protect my elderly father, expecting reliability and peace of mind. Unfortunately, my experience has been the exact opposite.
The system generated far too many false fall alerts while also failing to detect actual falls. False alarms are more than just an inconvenience. They create unnecessary stress, reduce confidence in the device, and can ultimately lead people to question whether a future alert is real.
What concerned me even more was the company's response. After one false alert, Medical Guardian dispatched EMS to the wrong address. An investigation was supposedly opened, but despite multiple emails, phone calls, and follow-up requests, I never received an explanation, update, or even the courtesy of a response.
When you're choosing a medical alert system, you're trusting a company to be there during some of the most vulnerable moments in your loved one's life. That trust depends not only on the technology working correctly, but also on responsive customer support when something goes wrong. In my experience, Medical Guardian failed on both counts.
I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. There are too many alternatives on the market to settle for a service that has proven unreliable and unresponsive when it matters most. If you're considering a medical alert system for a parent or loved one, I strongly encourage you to do your research and look carefully at other options before choosing Medical Guardian.

This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I purchased two Medical Guardian devices through Costco last year—one for my father and one for my mother, at two different addresses. Activation was a nightmare because the accounts kept linking together, even after multiple calls for help.
My father passed away in November 2025, and I even have a cancellation email from Medical Guardian. Despite that, they continued charging me. It later turned out that when they sent replacement devices, they created a second account for my father instead of properly resolving the original issue. As a result, I was being charged twice for my mother’s device and also still charged for my father’s account.
I was overcharged by a significant amount, and I should have monitored my statements more closely. What makes this worse is that they make cancellation extremely difficult, and even when you call, it still doesn’t seem to get resolved. This feels like a company that makes it easy to sign up and nearly impossible to leave.

I had fallen at 2:00 AM. After about an hour trying to get up, I decided I was going to have to get help. I had only had my Medical Guardian for about three weeks. I pushed the button for help and the automated voice came right on. I said I needed help, and they said they would connect me. Which they did right away. I told the man that I did not need an ambulance, but to contact my emergency contact. He came back and said that they did not answer, but he had left a message and would keep trying until he reached them. He came back and said they would be right over. Everything worked perfectly. I couldn't reach a phone, but had my call button around my neck. Saved the day!

My parents are very old and we have to keep the Medical Guardian lanyard on them. They could easily fall but this gives us some peace that we can get notified fast if they need help.

Ordered this for my mother and she didn't like wearing it. I called to cancel the service in March of 24 and have been unable to get them to stop taking money out of my account. This is unethical. Do not do business with these people.

Always are punctual in letting me know that I
have pushed the button by mistake and cancelling it.

They always respond Even if I accidentally drop my device! It thinks I fell and responds immediately!

My last experience made me realize just how important it is to carry my 'button" where-ever I go. I like very much that all I need do is press one button and you're on the other end to help me. I can't tell you how comforting that is!
Thank you!
PS I have recommended you to a friend.
PPS I don't recall the date of my last experience. Sorry.

I help an elderly person and although she does not live alone she is ofter alone. It helps in knowing that she can get help quickly, especially if she falls. Do not have to worry so much. Helps those who care about a loved one some peace of mind.
