Sold a vehicle with Exhaust and…

Sold a vehicle with Exhaust and Suspension Problens. Another garage says they've never seen anything like it. Took days to find all the faults. Cost £800 so far and I tried getting Mega to fix on their "one month warranty with us" and the 3rd party warranty they sell. 3rd Party warranty doesn't cover Suspension Or Exhaust! I tried gong back less than a month after I bought it after calling them and telling them the exhaust noise started again on my way home though they agreed to fix it before I collected. The Office said the One month expired because my deposit was Two Days over the month! And the deposit counted as a sale as they had to remove the car from sale. Even though I called to tell them about this only 2 weeks after collecting and I arrived days before an actual month passed since actual purchase when I paid for the vehicle, signed to papers and collected the keys etc.
The exhaust had no hole just more patches than anyone has seen in one exhaust before and was Still Loud and getting louder daily. The Suspension had multiple faults and they said I could get that looked at at any garage as its probably some "Linkage". As I live over an hour away from there I told them I could not get back there for the repairs easily and definitely not before what I saw as the actual 1 month deadline.
So neither their warranty which he told me was only for Engine anyway nor the 3rd Party Warranty they Sell covers the faults the vehicle has that they sold me and supposed to be in good condition even the Exhaust noise they said they'd fix before purchase. No it wasn't a hole but it's still an Exhaust noise that wasn't there when I collected it. Seems like they did some temporary fix just to get it off their forecourt. And don't belive them about their One month warranty.

Bought a 2012 Chevrolet Captiva and have had nothing but problems. Carried it to my local garage only to find out the rear prop shaft has been removed and it has a bad transfer case. Mega Car Shop won't answer phone or return email. What a joke of a business.

Paid a fully refundableTrying to steal my deposit. £99.00 deposit…

Paid a fully refundable £99.00 deposit to hold a car i wanted to view. we agreed a date but they got back to me saying they couldn’t do that date. I was completely busy after the agreed date so I asked to cancel and refund my deposit. They now say that they won’t do that!
They are obviously doing this to many people.
I will now use the courts to retrieve my deposit.
I wish I had read the complaints on trust pilot before I contacted this awful company. let this be a warning to anyone intending to leave a deposit in ANYTHING.

Avoid this garage!

We are having a really awful, stressful ongoing issue with this garage. My husband purchased a car for £10,000 from them, they didn’t give him the log book as they said they couldn’t find it. We have done a hpi check and have found out that this was a written off car! They didn’t inform my husband of this, he wouldn’t have bought it if he’d known! Now we are stuck with a £10,000 car which he can’t drive as he has no logbook so no tax and we can’t get insurance either because it was written off! We want them to take the car back and refund us. We have contacted the garage several times and been down there only for them to say they will call back (they never do), we are now having to go through the legal route. It is causing so much stress that we are actually unwell, we can’t sleep, no appetite. I really don’t know how this company can be allowed to continue. I have reported this to the police, dvsa and trading standards.

Very pushy sales team

Very pushy sales team, took a 100 pound holding deposit then refused to refund the deposit when the car had an engine fault, very rude over the phone, ended up getting a better model for cheaper elsewhere, avoid.

Will be taking this matter to small claims court to retrieve my holding deposit

Have an ongoing horrible experience

Have an ongoing horrible experience - Sold me a car back in February and then the gearbox went within the first month of ownership, they continually avoided communicating back and when they finally got it sorted (By getting my finance provider to contact them) they chose to use the warranty to repair the car, the warranty provider they have gone with has now taken 4 months to repair the car and the car IS STILL NOT FIXED. Both these companies seem incompetent and incapable at communicating.

It has now cost me thousands of pounds in travel costs and risked my job. By consumer rights law they have one attempt to repair a broken car without any inconvenience to the customer, not only have they refused to pay for this but the warranty provider seems to have broken their terms and conditions as well and told me the car claim limit is £1000, whereas on the dealerships website they advertise the claim limit being "The aggregate value of the car".

DO NOT GO with this dealership unless you are willing to pursue legal action. If you see "autoselect Warrenties" anywhere I would run and run far.

Look up the original name of this dealership, they changed because of the amount of bad reviews they received.

Rude and threatening

Found a car at mega car shop and paid my deposit online. The next day got a phone call confirming this and got sent the invoice. They then said it had to go off to be prepared and they would be in touch with a delivery date. This is normally within 48-72 hours. A few days went past so I rang to confirm a date and was told someone would call me back in half an hour which they never did. So a few more days went past I called again and was told someone would call me back in half an hour and never did. I then decided I didn't want the car as I didn't like the service so I rang to cancel the sale and was told someone would call me back in half an hour and surprise surprise no one did. Now when I spending over £10000 on a car I do expect them to a least answer the phones or a least call me back when they said they would. If this is the lack of service before I get the car I can't imagine what it would be like after I get a car if something went wrong. I then received I call on Friday the 14th July trying to arrange delivery of the car so I told them I didn't want the car and if they had rang back like they said they would they would know this. So at this point the salesman got quite aggressive with me and started threatening me with court to claim the money back they had spent preparing the vehicle for sale and calling me a liar accusing me of not even calling them. Unfortunately for them I have kept all my call data and have used my distance sales right to cancel which I am perfectly able to do within 14 days. I am awaiting the return of my deposit which I doubt they will send so will be claiming that back from my credit card. So I cannot comment on the cars they sell as I didn't get that far but from the lack of service and aggressive Manor I would definitely not use or recommend this company.

Avoid

A self declared “non-customer focused business” and I couldn’t agree more off the back of my personal experience. The salesman was very happy to take my £250 refundable holding deposit, but was not so happy to give it back when I didn’t want to proceed with the purchase.

After days of refusing to take my calls or reply to my emails I was finally contacted to be told it “would not be good for (me)” to come down to the car garage to get my refund.
Despite this threat I drove to the garage to try and have a rational discussion with them, and finally had it agreed with the same salesman that he would have Dave (the Manager) contact me for my refund.

A week went by with no contact, so I started phoning for Dave. After multiple unreturned calls and messages I went down to the car garage again, and this time was able to meet Dave in person (having waited some time after he instructed one of his team to tell me he was too busy to talk.)
Dave assured me he would speak to the salesman who dealt with my holding deposit and he himself would call me back the next day to sort my refund.

Dave didn’t call the next day, or any day in the following two weeks. So again I went to the garage. Dave again tried to have me turned away on the premise that he was too busy, so I walked through his open office door to ask him to speak to me. After trying to pretend he didn’t know who I was, Dave became confrontational, accusing me of kicking down the door and shouting “stupid f customers” in a rage - this was in front of my 11 year old daughter, who became very upset by his aggression. Dave became so enraged that I had to call my partner to come down to try and reason with him, before we left the premises empty handed.

Do not under any circumstances use this dealership.

Despicable

Having just left Mega car shop after having to deescalate a situation between my partner and Dave the manager, it is highly disappointing to know that this self declared “non customer focused” business is willing to use threats and intimidation against women with children present in order to maintain their pride. The lack of communication when dealing with complaints and aftersales care is unfortunately often a typical occurrence with some traders, and Mega Car Shop seems to be part of the problem rather than the solution. They are however keen to record your time with them through cctv and audio but are reluctant to play it back to you when asked for clarification of events. The lack of professionalism and integrity is something to keep in the forefront of the mind if thinking of conducting business with Dave and his team. I do hope others have more positive experiences than we unfortunately have had to endure.

Looks can be deceiving

G was really nice to deal with and made sure the condition of the car we purchased was very good. He had good attention to detail on the body work and made sure the car was tidy when we collected it. The car looks and drives perfectly. The car was serviced by them and had a fresh MOT so we were shocked to find oil all over the driveway after a couple of days. Any oil leaks should show up on the MOT. The car has been booked in with VW for investigation. Let's hope any work is covered by the warranty.

Worst experience

Called and paid a £99 deposit for a car that we were interested in. Told it was fully refundable if on the day we aren't happy with the vehicle for any reason.
Pre-arranged finance as we would only be able to collect Saturday evening and finance companies would be shut. Told by 'G' the boss that the car would have an MOT, service, full safety inspection and a full valet. He even quoted 'we don't sell sh**t cars' to me on the phone.

2 hour drive there Saturday for THE WORST experience of our lives! The car has warning lights on; 'washer fluid', 'engine oil service', tyre pressure rear right', 'left license plate bulb' and when started, the engine didnt sound right. Upon further inspection you can see the engine shakes/vibrates.
Yet the car had an MOT Friday and a service on Saturday, supposedly!
I can only assume dodgy garages carry out this work!

He told us he had changed the rear right tyre as the original had a small cut. He said he didn't need to do that and always goes above and beyond. We queried why they didn't put the same brand of tyre that was already on the rear and he tried to fob us off with tread patterns being the same.
We explained that different brands of tyres all handle different and this car now had 3. He didn't like that!
We asked when the brake discs were last changed as the front two were lipped, he told us that the brake pads had 70% life left.
Someone came over putting water in to the washer fluid whilst 'G' was taking a video scolding his staff for the service that was done on the car today.
We told him water is no good, it should be washer fluid.
We then found a small pot of paint in the centre console of the car, alarm bells are now seriously ringing!!
When we queried what has been touched up on the car, 'G' was quick to take it off us and tell me nothing on this car, it was collected from the bodyshop.
We asked if the car had been sat around for ages and not driven as it was covered in tree sap and the brake drums and discs had rust on. 'G'responded with look around, there are trees everywhere. If its not been cleaned properly then I can get that done.
He went off to deal with other customers and we continued to look at the vehicle in more detail. I went in and asked for the service history and paperwork, G told the member of staff 'stay where you are and finish what you're doing, I will deal with these ladies once I'm finished serving these customers'.
We found that a bit odd to be honest, now it seems like they definitely have a lot to hide!!
He comes out and we tell him that there is something wrong with the engine.
We show him 2 videos of the car: 1 of the warning lights on the dash and pointed out that there was no way it had been serviced professionally as they would have reset the service intervals and filled the washer fluid etc...
then showed him the video of the engine moving on startup and this is where he became very aggressive.
He tried to tell us that 'this is how a diesel car is'. We told him we have had the exact same model (Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0 Diesel, 2016 model) before and no it isn't.
He tried to tell us this again whilst asking my partner to turn it on for him to take a video. He said that it's just a diesel car, nothing wrong with it.
We pointed out that it isn't and that we didn't create the video last week!
We told him that it's possibly a broken engine mount, or worse, the cam belt or timing chain.
He now calls us 'tryers, fu*king tryers. Nothing wrong the car, we are just tryers'. We told him that we are entitled to query the issues with the car as paying £11.5k for it! We told him that he should reimburse us for wasting our time and fuel. He tells us we should pay his overtime.
We asked to see the manager, apparently he is out of town. We asked to speak to who ever is in charge today, apparently there isn't anyone available.

We told him that he does sell sh**t cars, even though he tells you on the phone that he doesn't. He then calls us fat cu*nts told us to fu*ck and says 'you saw the colour of my face and didn't like it'.
He actually implied that we are racist because we didn't want to buy his car!

THIS man does not like being challenged by women on his cars. He thinks that he can just fob them off, and when that doesn't work he turns nasty and aggressive.

Well I won't let this lie. I will be reporting him and his company to AutoTrader, the finance company, the underwriters, Trading Standards, Peterborough Council, the Financial Ombudsman and the FCA.

Also worth noting, if you drive behind his car garage (showcase cinema car park) you will see lots of salvage cars. These are clearly used as donors for parts!!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

first time and last time ill be dealing with this company. i called to paid a deposit of £99 to hold a car that i wanted to view, and when i did go to view the car it wasn't as expected not good condition even for the year. I contacted the day after to ask for my refund deposit and didn't get a reply and tried again by email still no reply. so it doesn't look like I'm getting my deposit back despite him telling me the day i called i would get my deposit back if I'm not happy with the car which clearly now is a Lie!. so for anyone looking to view a car from this company MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK ON THE DAY YOU VIEW A CAR IF YOU NOT HAPPY WITH , overwise you wont get it back. in all honesty i would void this company all together there cars are poor condition for year and price

I paid a “fully refundable deposit” on a car I was interested in but then the finance company refused to pay out to the garage as they had a pending court case for selling a car which had been handed back to the finance company! Needless to say that I never for my £100 back but shows how desperate they must be for some cash 😂 avoid at all costs, even though now trading under a different name!!

Untrustworthy, dishonest, dodgy dealers AVOID

Selling cars not fit for purchase, they avoid calls, take no responsibility and do anything but help you. Amer Shahzad should be ashamed of the business he is running. Issue with my car within 24hrs of delivery and still a month later chasing them to resolve. Corrupt as they come.
