Terrible software and terrible customer support

Terrible user experience. You can get significantly better results with the free version of chat gpt. I requested a refund only about an hour after I bought a month subscription and they refused saying I “used it too much” horrible customer service and horrible software

Forever might not be long enough for this to work

Have attempted twice now to input a prompt for an image to be generated from, the three bar rotating thinking widget just kept spinning.. over it.. it has not delivered even after the 4 minutes for each prompt given. Don't bother with it (was trying it "for free")

It is so bad

It is so bad. I wasted a hundred bucks all gone down the drain. I honestly cannot believe how bad the AI in midjourney is. It doesn't understand any of my prompts Even simple prompts like keep the camera angle still, it doesn't do anything you ask it to. It was so frustrating. Do not subscribe into this guys, there are so many cheaper ai platforms for video generations out there like Envato, Dzine, Seedance pro. Envato is unlimited too but for half the price compared to midjourney. Midjourney is utterly so dumb, I could not generate anything! It could not understand even the most simple prompts.

$10 Isn’t the Point – Midjourney Steals with Impunity and Hides Behind a Predatory Policy

Midjourney just confirmed what a scam their operation is: after wasting hours of my time on their broken platform, they flat-out refuse any refund and declare (Brandon) "this answer is final and we will not be entertaining any further debate."

I paid $10 for the Basic plan to upload one image and generate a few subtle variations—basic advertised functionality. Instead: constant errors ("Variations on Editor jobs is not supported"), disappearing buttons, failed workarounds, inconsistent garbage outputs, and a worthless AI assistant. I spent roughly 2 hours troubleshooting their bugs with zero usable results. All that "GPU time" gets counted against me.

Their policy? Refunds only if lifetime usage <20 GPU minutes total (across your entire account history, including Relax/Fast modes). It's engineered to be impossible: you can't properly test or fix their issues without blowing past the limit, so they keep your money even when the service fails completely.

Support first (Gus) cited my old 5.67 hours from years ago (mediocre experience, but I gave them benefit of the doubt they'd improved—newsflash: they haven't). Then Brandon shuts it down with "no refund, no debate." No accountability, no exceptions for technical failures.

Yes, $10 is small change—but that's the point. Companies like Midjourney count on people shrugging it off as "not worth the hassle." They take your money, deliver defective service, waste your time beta-testing their mess, and refuse refunds because the amount is too tiny to fight. It's not okay. It's theft by design, and I'm tired of businesses thinking they can get away with it just because it's low-value.

This pattern explains their abysmal 1.6-star Trustpilot rating (Bad, based on ~320 reviews): widespread complaints about refunds denied, broken features, outdated AI lagging competitors, poor support, and billing traps.

I've filed a chargeback with my bank and will keep pushing. Don't give them your money—there are far better AI tools that actually work and respect customers.

Midjourney Standard Plan ($30/month): Overpriced and Outdated – 0 stars

Paid $30/month for 15 Fast GPU hours + unlimited Relax Mode. In reality: ~500-700 decent V7 images/month before hitting slow queues (5-40+ min waits). Outputs still glitchy – bad anatomy, errors in lettering, poor prompt follow-through, generic art.
Competitors crush it: Leonardo.ai ($24-36) gives 1,500+ high-quality images; Ideogram ($20-32) excels at text; Flux Pro APIs cost $0.04-0.09/image for similar volume.
Arbitrary bans, no refunds, ethical issues (copyright lawsuits). Not worth it in 2026 – quality lags, costs more, annoys users. Throwing money away; switch to better options!

Strict refund policy that ignores real user context

The following reflects only my personal experience.

I did not intend to renew a yearly subscription. The charge occurred due to auto-renewal. After noticing it, I canceled the subscription immediately and chose not to continue using the service.

I contacted Midjourney Billing Support and provided my order details privately. The charge was confirmed, but a refund was refused solely based on an internal policy, with no prorated adjustment, no manual review, and no consideration of unused time.

While this approach may comply with the written rules, the experience it creates is that the policy makes no distinction between active long-term usage and an unintended renewal followed by immediate cancellation and no further use.

In this case, the entire financial burden is placed on the user, even when the service is not used at all after renewal.

I am sharing this not to target any individual or request special treatment, but to highlight a gap between policy execution and reasonable user expectations — a gap that I believe deserves broader visibility and reflection.

Midjourney Deleted My Creation w/o Warning

I have used Midjourney for about 3 months with the Pro level plan and plus paid extra for the Fast Hours. This month I was shocked to find that they deleted about one-third of my created contents. They did not write me any comments to express their intention. The only reason I could I assume was that they decided to ban the use of some words in the prompt. That being said, you never know when you are going to lose your work.

I was preparing to present my AI work for upcoming job interviews. Now, they destroyed my plan. Given the uncertainty storing the work on their server, I do not trust using their AI platform.

no progress

No 4k Rendering, no model improvements in more than a year. Loses completely to other competitors.
Used it for a year, but it was a bad decision.

Fallen way behind. It isn't any good anymore.

It was good just over a year ago when its competitors were weak but for most people today even ChatGPT is a better art generator and there are far better options for animation/video.

I was a subscriber to whatever plan was above basic last year and I'm still subscribing on a basic plan now as I forgot to turn off auto renew. I'm locked in until next January unfortunately. I'd sell it to someone else right now for a third of what I just paid for it.

Midjourney is great if you want to make one single image that isn't too specific and captures an atmosphere.

But I was trying to use it to illustrate books, and those types of images require consistency and the tool needs to do exactly what I tell it to do and not make stuff up. Midjourney is absolutely hopeless at that even on the least 'creative' settings. Even when you input the images and characters you want it to resemble.

Images aren't consistent at all. You get 4 images per prompt and you know when you hit send that at least one of them will be absolutely unusable with bizarre features that wouldn't work in any setting you want to apply them in, and as often as not the other 3 are not doing what you told them to do.

I'm writing this because my basic subscription fast prompts ran out today and it told me to upgrade or wait till February to get more. Last year I was in the same position and I upgraded. But now, you know what? I am not going to reward this crap application for taking 12 prompts and edits to generate 1 usable image by getting an upgraded subscription.

I'm really not that demanding, but Midjourney is excrutiating and annoying to work with and it is easily the bottleneck on my projects. I hate doing the artwork on my stuff and I'm just going to use ChatGPT from here on out.

Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback and for being a subscriber over the past year. We understand how frustrating it can be when you’re aiming for character consistency and precise control, especially for book illustration workflows where small variations can make an image unusable.

Feedback like yours helps highlight where creators need more control and consistency.

We appreciate the time you’ve spent with the platform and your honest perspective.

Midjourney is broken

Midjourney is going downhill and it seems the devs are asleep at the wheel. Too much focus on rolling out updates and new features, instead of just making sure the features that already exist are stable and optimised and functioning properly. I returned to Midjourney today for the first time in months, only to find that blend mode is broken, half my photos won’t upload and the support section is excruciatingly slow to the point of being practically vacant. I am shocked. I thought after months away from it, any surprises I might have would be positive, but it was wholly negative. It has become seriously degraded. How could Midjourney let this happen?!

It sucks!!

It sucks!!! You can barely create anything because of copyright filters and content violations! Try creating any advertisement content for your brand? nope. It wonßt let you or is unable to create any logos or text.

Midjourney frustrates me to no end

Midjourney frustrates me to no end.
I've been a full paying member now for over 6 months and the moderation filters on this site are ridiculous. A couple of examples;
I make a picture of a woman, a generic picture, midjourney decide to put feet where her hands should be. I put the same picture back into the midjourney editor, and it then flags the feet as NSFW content, and doesnt let me edit the feet off the hands! like what the actual hell. It put the feet on the hands in the first place!! I then gave ChatGPT the picture with the weird feet on the hands, told it to remove the feet and it it edits it off NO PROBLEM!
another example. I make a snowman. midjourney forgets to put eyes on it, so I put that picture back into the editor and for some reason only Midjourney understand, that gets flagged by the moderators too. in what world would editing coal eyes onto a snowman be risky content for midjourney?! It's actually at the point (if it wasnt so expensive) that it is comical how strict the sensors are.
Sort this out! you are going to lose customers!

The tool is terrible

The tool is terrible, I’ve only used for less than 20 mins and I wanted a refund.
I reached out to them and they said I’ve used more than 20 mins so it’s not refundable.
What the heck!!?? Be aware!! Don’t subscribe unless you are 1000% sure.

Awful pictures

I suscribed today and I am so disappointed. Awful pictures, also in only 1 day with generation of a few pictures I used almost all my credit because it realizes videos that I didn't want. User experience ver bad. Not recommended. I have lost my money with this.

Do not hand over your money to these crooks

Was a previous customer in 2023 and decided to give Midjourney another shot. I was disappointed with the results immediately and quickly came to the conclusion that, despite their marketing claims, they've hardly changed for my use case and it is still substandard quality content. Having used 12 minutes of my total monthly usage, I contacted customer service and was met with complete disregard for any level of customer service and was told that I am not eligible for a refund because, despite their refund policy stating eligible for a refund if used less than 20 minutes of time, because I'd been a paying(!) customer THREE years ago, this exceeds the total usage and therefore I cannot get a refund. Not sure what three years ago billing has to do with a current billing period but I'm never using Midjourney again and will be disputing the payment with my bank, and taking it to the ombudsman if required.

What has three years ago got to do with my monthly subscription now? A lazy attempt to fob off customers, which does not align with UK Consumer Rights laws.

Don't let these scummy companies promise the world and deliver nothing, and think they can run away with your money.

To much times: Tool not available

The tool is good, but I'm getting to much times:

We're sorry, the Personalization service is currently having an outage. Please try your prompt again later

So I quit my subscription play and try an other tool

After 3 years the next dissapointed customer

It is actually funny because i came angry for being provided bad support but i see im not the only one. I use midjourney for 3 years and since then its support is so so bad. Bugs, wasted fast hours, no refunds, the only thing they improved is just their library. Now the generator have so much photos but the prompt builder from 2022. Most of free applications now have the same build quality as midjourney does which is very sad with the boom in Ai right now. Dont recommend it you will be dissapointed as we all are.
